Download page says current version of Firefox not compatible with my OS. Am running Mac OS X 10.5.8
Was running Firefox fine, then started getting some bugs, so deleted program and decided to start with fresh download. Download page says my OS is not compatible, but chart says it should be.
Yes, unfortunately Firefox 4 and later require the Intel processor architecture. The error message apparently doesn't distinguish between OS version and processor.

When I was prompted to update my firefox browser, I was subsequently told my Macbook OS 10.5.8 didn't support the new firefox and that I would therefore be subject to cyber attacks from now on, or something similar to that. I don't actually remember the exact phrasing. It did sound ominous. What do you suggest I do? Can I keep on using the outdated version of Firefox that I currently have? or should I switch to a different browser altogether?
DokoloYou could turn on the Mac OS firewall, and get an antivirus. I am running Firefox 3.6.28 on my laptop with Mac OS 10.4.11, and have not run into any problems so far, being behind a router, with the firewall on and with an antivirus installed.

I can't be entirely certain of the origin of this issue, but I've tried everything I can think of and the only thing I can nail down is that Firefox 6.0.1 is incompatible with Java. All of my extensions have been disabled without the option of even trying to enable them.
Now for the ACTUAL problem...this affect my Google/GMAIL experience and I use GMAIL for my business! The calendar used to display various mailboxes with different colours to identify different types of individuals and the Google Menu Bar on their homepage is not black, like it should be, it is TRANSPARENT with blue lettering. I can read the menu bar just fine, but the GMAIL thing is kind of important to my business!
I've tried the GMAIL forums to no avail...I've tried to uninstall Java [it wouldn't...just crashed and said there was an error...]. I even re-installed Java, but nothing changed!
I have also tried other browsers and they do the same thing, so I can't just pin it on Firefox, but I am hoping that someone here will have a good, working solution for me.

DaveOK, I'll try removing all of the extensions but that doesn't explain why my GMAIL and various other JAVA related [I'm assuming] things are not displaying properly. I even went as far as to replace my video card and download the most up to date drivers...still no change, but I will try removing all of the disabled extensions.

i have a htc wildfire, and if i try to install firefox from android market place it says that my device is not compatible with firefox. how can i install it ?
According to a random website... the HTC Wildfire S uses a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor. This processor unfortunately does not support the full ARM version 7 instruction set, so Firefox cannot run on it.

I can't open the psd file I did yesterday! It says that the file is not compatible with this version of photoshop. I worked in a CS6 version but also tried opening in a CC but nothing happens. Help

I was working in my school's mac but running windows, and the file was being saved in the school's network not on the computer. I thought it had been saved and I also copy and pasted the file in my hard drive to guarantee a copy but none of the are opening.
The file size was appox. 1giga

This is the boilerplate text often used in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):

Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work. It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost. -

My mac has OSX version 10.8.2 and I'm try to install an aiport express base station which requires 10.5.7 or later. Yet when I try to install the software it says the base station is not compatible with my mac version - how do I resolve?
You already have the software installed that you need if you have 10.8.2.
If AirPort Utility cannot find the Express, that is another matter. More software is not needed. More troublehooting is needed.
Power up the Express for a full minute
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 7-8 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen
Look for a heading of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that, click on AirPort Express

Some other things that could hinder this brush pack from working are its installed incorrectly or in the wrong place also resetting cs5 preferences can help. Last if what you posted originally is true and or accurate-"-when i try and load this brush pack i bought" it says "Because this file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop" Then it is exactly as it states a Brush Pack that will not WORK with CS5.

If you have Yosemite you need iphoto 9.6 from the App store - what is the exact error message you are getting?
Try dragging the iphoto Application to the trash from your applications folder (wait tot empty the trash) and then install iPhoto 9.6 from the App store

ECF users are advised NOT TO UPGRADE to version 4.x or 5.x of the Firefox browser.
The Firefox browser versions 4.x and 5.x are not fully compatible with the court's ECF system. Several issues involving electronic filing have been reported. Furthermore, the "View Labels" button from the Creditor Mailing Matrix is not functional when using the upgrade. The recommended version of Firefox for use with ECF is 3.6.18, and the recommended version of Internet Explorer is either 7.x or 8.x.

I need to get version 3.6.18 back.To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

when attempting to install calendar plug in clock plug in, I am getting an error message that says not compatible with v8.0. even when I filter by versions compatible with v8.0 this message comes up.

have lion 10.7.4 up graded from tiger 10.5.8. tried to download mountain lion but received a message that mountain lion is not compatible with my computer. anyone have this problem or suggestion?
It's actually not the chip... it's the drivers for the video card. this is what my friend who does IT work said.
"The drivers for your Mac's video card are not 64bit compatible even though the computer itself is. Mountain Lion has done away with all 32bit OS components so it only runs on full 64bit MAcs now"
So even though I updated my video card to a newer version and my computer itself is 64bit... apple didn't create a driver for it that was 64 bit. My hardware is fine for this update and the chip can handle it. It can handle all my 64 bit programs just fine. It's apple forcing me to update and buy a new expensive computer. So much for long lasting computer... they last long but they won't be supported very long.
Why not release a version of mountain lion that supports 32 bit graphics alongside the 64 bit? Wasn't that what grand central was going to accomplish? This is rubbish. -
I have been unable to sync my iPad with my pc since November 2013. The message that I receive is that "iTunes could not back up the iPad because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad. My iPad is running the most current update and my iTunes program is also the most recent update. What could be the reason for and solution to this problem?
You might want to try deleting your old backup. That could be the source of the problem.
Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices>Your backup name. Click on your backup to select it, and then click on Delete. Click on OK.
Connect your iPad to your computer and try again. -
