I just downloaded the free trial of Adobe PDF to Word converter and was not able to convert a PDF file to word. Could anyone please help? Thx
Part of the problem in helping is likely that there is no program Adobe -- that is the company name. You are in the Acrobat forum, but it sounds like you have subscribed to Export PDF or such, a different program. The subscription to Acrobat is currently $19.99 per month.

I downloaded the Adobe free trial to convert a PDF to Word and it will not open. Further, even though I have signed in, it reverts back to the sign in page over and over and over again. How do I convert?
Moving this discussion to the Adobe CreatePDF forum.

I am trying to convert a PDF to Word without re-typing. I downloaded the converter program onto my MAC but the conversion was terrible. Unusable. Is there a better way. I also have a PC so I could try that as well if would make any difference.
"Scanned" Scanned anything starts you with an image / picture of the page content that was on the source paper.
There is no "renderable" text. OCR can provide an output of text that can be exported. Without that all that is exported is the image.
As to OCR, Acrobat's ClearScan lends itself to repurpose via the export process.
Regardless, anything sourced from a scanner output is the "pig's ear" and that'll not yield the "silk purse".
Export is dictated by the input (GIGO). Export output identifies input quality.
As a C Student stated a Word file (being well-built helps) that sourced the PDF will yield workable export back to Word.
PDF's sourced for FrameMaker export rather nicely.
For optimal export always start with a well-formed Tagged PDF (ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant).
Two core design considerations of tagged PDF are (1) support Accessible PDF and (2) support export (repurpose) of PDF content.

Cannot download .pdf files and word docs from KM using Web Dynpro
Dear Portal Gurus,
Using KM API, I am trying to download, documents from KM in my Web Dynpro Application. But .pdf files and word docs with screenshots are not getting retrieved from KM. Word docs opens with no content and Adobe opens with an error saying "Either it is a damaged file or It is not a supported file".
I am using the following KM service to download the content.
public byte[] retrieveResourceInBytes(String strRid){
///// after a few lines ////
if (this.loggedOnUser.isAuthenticated()) {
// create a resource context with the authenticated user
rContext = new ResourceContext(this.loggedOnUser);
// create a RID to handle a resource
aRid = RID.getRID(strRid);
try {
// get an instance of a resource factory
final IResourceFactory aResourceFactory = ResourceFactory.getInstance();
// retrieve a folder/file with context
aResource = aResourceFactory.getResource(aRid, rContext);
if(aResource.isCollection()) {
aResource = (ICollection) aResource;
IPropertyMap objIPropertyMap = aResource.getProperties();
IMutablePropertyMap objIMutablePropertyMap =objIPropertyMap.getMutable();
objHashMap = new HashMap();
if (aResource != null) {
IContent oldContent = aResource.getContent();
InputStream objInputStream=oldContent.getInputStream();
byte[] theBytes = new byte[objInputStream.available()];
objInputStream.read(theBytes);
return theBytes;
} // catches all the exceptions here///
Could you please advise if I am doing something wrong else could you please advise me for any corrections which would help?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Zeena

Hi,
Which web browser are you using to view the PDF? Safari 5.1.8
When you open the PDF in Adobe Reader add-in you will either see a floating toolbar
http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-5224223-317859/430-90/floating +toolbar.JPG
or a normal toolbar
http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-5224223-317860/450-11/normalto olbar.JPG
both the toolbars have save button, use the button to save the file locally. I do not see these toolbars. I do, however see this
and it works! Thanks
Hope this will help you.
Thanks

Is there a free download to convert word doc to pdf?
I purchased the product to convert pdf to word and now I need to convert the file back to pdf. I was wondering if there was a trial download to help with this as I cannot afford the $89 to purchase ANOTHER product. Please help. Very time sensitive
Hi dumblnd,
Does the error occur when you try to open Acrobat, or when you try to convert a file?
For starters, please repair the Acrobat installation (using the Acrobat installer). If that doesn't work, check to see whether you have Symantec Endpoint Security. There have been reports of that interfering with Acrobat.
Best,

I just bought a subscription to adobe reader so I could convert by book pdf to word. I download it per your instructions, but when I open it as docx, it is all code. I've done this 3 times according to the instructions.
The iPhone and iPad draw whatever charging current they require. The iPad draws more.

Just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over
just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over. what can i do
For some reason this seems to happen to some. It may be that you have a date issue on the machine and Acrobat noted it. By the way, Adobe is the name of the company, not a product.
I have no idea how Adobe sets and tracks the trial information. It may be there is something else that has caused an issue and Acrobat thinks you have already had the trial on the system and uninstalled it. As far as I know, there is nothing you can do. You might be able to check with sales to see if there is a work-around, but users can do nothing to help you.
Sorry, hope you can find a way to test the product. It might also be related to the version of Windows that you did not state. -
Urgent Help Regarding PDF and Word Document Downloading
Many Thanks Shaik for you humble help. Actually now what I did in the past 3 days,
I used Oracle Intermedia to store my PDF and Word Documents in the database using Oracle SQL Loader. Then I used PL/SQL Server Pages and Oracle Web Toolkit for the downloading of my documents.
Now the problem is I saved all my formatted documents in the databse and for retrieval I am using following code in my stored procedure
* Select BLOB Data
select blob_data into myblob from mytable where blob_name = name;
Setup headers which describes the content
owa_util.mime_header('text/html', FALSE);
htp.p('Content-Length: ' || dbms_lob.get_length(myblob));
owa_util.http_header_close;
Initiate Direct BLOB download
wpg_docload.download_file(myblob);
end;
The structure of the mytable table:
create table mytable
doc_id varchar2(128),
doc_name varchar2(128),
blob_data blob
But when it prompt the client to download the file actually it gives the junk file name like 'B104ea56' (which i understand is the address of the blob address). What I want is to show the "SAVE AS" download box with the proper document name which is stored in my field in the following way
1 SALES.PDF
2 PLANNING.PDF
3 MANUAL.DOC
4 STANDARD.TXT
If I set the MIME type for the file format than it automatically starts download the file to the client browser, that I do not want, It should ask the user to download with the proper document name.
Waiting consiously for your help
RegardsPresumedly you'd like those documents being accessiable by users as well, so they should be put on a web server, ftp or nfs sharing. You can just add the urls to those documents, or the directory they are in, into robot system as starting points and let robot run to collect them.

IE wont let me download my recently purchased product pdf to word conversion
Hi,
ExportPDF is not a downloadable software. It is an online web service user to convert PDF to other formats.
Kindly refer to below mentioned article and let me know if that helps.
