Download Photoshop Elements 8 to Mac OSX

When trying to download Photoshop Elements 8 for my Mac OSX the downloads available show it’s not available for Mac OSX.
Since the PE8 purchased was for Mac and worked OK on my other iMac - please advise how I can now get this on my MacBook which doesn’t have a CD drive.
Please advise. Ken

Have now found HD/Lib/App Support/Adobe (on MacBook) which contains the folders:

Uninstall
Which of these do I trash, please? - before further attempt with FlashDrive.

Trying to reinstall photoshop elements 8 on mac osx

I keep receiving a message when trying to open my Photoshop Elements 8.0 on a new Mac OS X computer. It says "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application." I have tried a reinstall from the applications folder on the computer, but it gives me the "You can't open the application "Adobe Photoshop Elements" because it may be damaged or incomplete. I have also tried downloading the product from the website but it says it is not available. Any help is appreciated!

Please try the following link to download the product again. Please note that you are trying to install a very old product on MAC OS X, its a possibility that it might not work depending on the OS version that you have.

Did purchase ph. el. 11 via Amazon.com; 1st install did not work; failed to intialize when installing; called customer service and got connected with India and they tried to help but not very well; my suggestion "we" try to install a fresh copy from adobe and "we" did; to no avail, the download seems to be fine but when half trough the install intialization it stops and recommends to install the Adobe Advisor and I did; in running the advisor it does not recognaize the files I downloaded and thus can not trouble shoot the problem. I am now at the point of trowing this software out the window and ask for a refund. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Ulfkdn are you receiving any specific error messages? You can check your installation logs for error by following the steps listed at Troubleshoot install using logs | Element - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html.
You may also want to review the steps listed in Troubleshoot installation | Photoshop Elements | Mac OS - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-installation-photoshop-elements- mac.html. I would recommend first looking in your installation logs for an applicable error first as it may allow you to determine the exact error, and subsequent failure, which is preventing the installation process from completing.

Cannot download Photoshop Elements 10 on Mac

I can't seem to get Photoshop Elements 10 on my Mac which is running 10.7.5.
When I use the disk, I get to the installer and a popup says that the Elements 10 disk must be inserted, when its already inserted.
When I use the direct link from Adobe, it says I get to the installer and it says: "Install" can't be opened. You should eject the disk image.
I have downloaded from both Safari and Firefox with the same result.
Any assistance is appreciated...thanks

Put the disc in, open it in the finder and copy the entire contents to your desktop, then try running it from there. But also look around to be sure another instance of the installer isn't open already.
Also, if this computer has had PSE 10 on it before, how did you uninstall it?

Yes, what Brett N said. Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 settings
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 paths
Opera preferences
and also any lockfiles with the same names. Also repair permissions before launching PSE again
In lion that library is hidden. To see it, in the finder, click the Go menu and hold down the option key. It will appear below the little house for your user account.

Problems downloading Photoshop elements 11 onto Mac running snowleopard

please can anyone help me with this problem
entered the redemption code on adobe website, and then received the Serial Number for photoshop elements 11
then clicked on the download file, which sent me to Arvato link for zip file
downloaded the zip file, but it then will not open, so can't complete the download.
what hapened to buying software on Discs !!
i've now wasted 2 hours trying to sort this out, so would greatly appreciate some advice

if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

Problem installing downloaded Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac

Just bought this online and downloaded but for past two days having problems on my Macbook Pro 13 running 10.7.3. After FIRST backing up my HD and formatting to non-case sensitive (what?? why did I need to do that?) then reinstalling.... I get this error:

I must say the Adobe site does not appear very user-friendly when it comes to support and after downloading the "advisor" application it wants to send me to Windows support suggestions.

I have downloaded photoshop elements 12 on mac. But the program keeps shutting down and i have to restart it the whole time.

I have tried deleting the program and reinstalling it but it is not working. It is really annoying since I use it for my photography business. I can not work in a program that keeps shutting down.

You must always, always use the uninstaller in the PSE 12 folder in applications. Unfortunately, you broke some stuff by moving the program that way, so now I'm afraid you have a bit more work to do. First, download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
That will not actually remove anything, but it frees things up so you can go around and manually remove stuff. After running it, you will need to scurry around your hard drive and trash all the bits you can find. Start in your username>library>preferences. To see that library, option click Go menu in the finder and it will appear below the little house for your user account. look especially for files beginning com.adobe.whatever. While you're in that library go to the saved application states folder and delete anything pertaining to PSE.
Next you need to go to the library at the top level of your hard drive>library>application support>adobe and delete all the PSE stuff in there. That library isn't exactly hidden, like the user library, but it's hard to get to. The easiest way is to go to the finder preferences>sidebar and turn on Hard Disks under Show these items in sidebar. Then the next time you open a finder window your hard drive will appear in the list on the left side of the window. Click it and the library you want for this will appear in the top level of results.
Finally, after reinstalling PSE, be sure to immediately go to editor>help>updates and update to 12.1, then repair permissions.

Can't install Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac: Exit Code 7

I have a new Imac and I have to reinstall Photoshop Elements 4.0 for OSX. But my Installation CD is not working. Where can I download a copy?

You can't install PSE 4 on a new mac. It stopped working back around 10.5 and stopped being able to be installed back in 10.4. You will have to upgrade to a more recent version to use PSE on a current mac. PSE 12 is the current version.

I did try to uninstall and reinstall. It messed up my computer. I had to "RESTORE" from the prior days backup. This was not helpful at all. I'm used to losing all my stuff when I connect to iTunes, that's a whole other issue, but now I'm completely banned from any updates to my phone at all. Geeze.......
