Download podcast to ipad ios7 not wifi?

I would like to download podcasts from TED and iTunes directly without wifi. I want to watch the podcasts from the iPad, not while streaming. Is this possible and if so, what is the procedure. I am not a wifi person.

If you subscribe to them all then they will all download to each device. All I can think of is deleting the ones you don't want on each device. The only other alternative would be to not actually subscribe to any podcasts on the iPad, but simply download the video ones as individual episodes, but that does mean remembering to go looking for them, because they won't automatically download without subscription.

  • I bought an audiobook and it downloaded to my ipad but not my Gen4 itouch, it doesn't show an audiobook section under purchases, how do I do this?

    I am really upset.
I really love my itouch but anything beyond using it as a daytimer, camera and note keeper is shear torture.
I post a question, I have to repost it multiple times.
I search for a solution to a problem, such as, "How do I download an audiobook" - I get a web page of all the things that itouch can do, but no instructions on how to do them.
    So here's my latest problem.
Yes I am repeating myself again!
I bought an audiobook and it downloaded to my iPad, but, not my gen4 itouch, it doesn't show an audiobook section under purchases in iTunes, how do I do this?
Does anyone out there know of a web site that just gives answers to apple questions? ( I don't need to know what it could do, I need to know how to do it!)
    Thank you for your help!
    Ken

Have you checked to see whether it's in the Music app (iTunes on the iPad it just the store, it doesn't contain your downloaded and synced content) ? When you have audiobooks on an iPad you will get an Audiobooks option under the More button at the bottom of the Music app.
Note that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store (so they won't appear in the Purchased tab for re-downloading), so you may want to copy it to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases so that you can take a backup copy of it - it should copy over to the Books part of your iTunes library.

  • An App I downloaded for my iPad was not what I thought it was going to be, can I remover the App and request a refund?

An App I downloaded for my iPad was not what I thought it was going to be, can I remover the App and request a refund?

You probably cannot get a refund, since as RG said the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
It's possible they'll make an exception for you, something more likely if the app does not perform as advertised.
    Good luck.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base, before you post a question.

  • When I download an app I had to put in payment settings cause it was expiring, after that it was downloading but then said 'cannot download because your ipad does not enough space' but I actually have 3.3 gb while the game is 1.4 .pls tell what to do

When I download an app I had to put in payment settings cause it was expiring, after that i paid and it was downloading but then said 'cannot download because your ipad does not enough space' but I actually have 3.3 gb while the game is 1.4 . I tried rebooting and powering off but still it didnt work even when I clicked the app( which still hasn't downloaded yet). What do I do now?

The GB size of the download file is the compressed size (like .zip or .dmg). When the file is installed/uncompressed it can be 2-3 times larger.
How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.
How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

  • How do I find a downloaded podcast subscription that is not showing up in my library?

I downloaded a podcast subscription and it will not show up in my podcast library in Itunes.  I tried to download it again but it says it is downloaded.  What can I do?

Is the Podcast in iTunes U, which is a separate section within you iTunes Library? If you cannot see iTunes U on the left hand side, under "Library", click on Edit/Preferences/General>iTunes U (tick "on").
Did you actually download this programme "as a Podcast" through the iTunes Store or by subscribing to the Podcast feed in Advanced/Subscribe to Podcast? Or did you get it from the show's website?
Have you checked alternative spellings and even programme titles for the Podcast? (I have one programme, titled "Focus", but which appears under "BBC", who produced it!) Use the Search facilty to check your library.
If all else fails, what is the title of the Podcast, perhaps that may help us find it?

  • Search tasks reminders with Iphone/Ipad iOS7 not working

Help...  Using search bar above new task interface is not working.  When you key in a subject to search, the tasks start showing below but if try to click on one of the tasks being displayed you cannot find it i.e. does not open and you still have to scroll through all tasks (in my case 600+).
    What nonsense.
Upgrades are supposed to make things better...iOS7 has made tasks and other applications worse.  Just glitz and irrelevant changes.

For those heavy Outlook/Task/Exchange users such as myself, it looks like there may be a simple App solution. I just downloaded and started using TaskTask today. At least for day one, it is beautiful. Syncs with Exchange '03 flawlessly. Easy to sort, search, add, delete, etc. I can't believe how efficient it is. This is totally objective. I am strictly a user, no connection to the company. My initial reaction is "what a relief". Goodbye Apple reminders and tasks.

  • Downloaded video to iPad content not authorised?

I downloaded a movie to my iPad and it seems to be there but when I try to play it brings up the message "content not authorised" and will not play .

This happens with Apps and songs.  Find the item giving the problem, click on it and authorize with your Apple ID

  • Download movies on iPad will not play, Download movies on iPad will not play

    Downloaded rented movies  on ipad2
from iTunes will not play on ipad2

This has been an ongoing problem for me too. With my iPad 2 I buy a tv show or rent a movie and it does not show up in the Video App. This is very frustrating (= very upset Apple customer) You spend money to see something remotely, wait along time to download it, potentially incur or use precious minutes with your limited data plan and in the end can not view it. Additionally, the entire process has some severe usability issues. Why do you have to go to another App to see your movies. When you click purchase you should be first presented a download time bar and then either as it is in the midst of being downloaded be able to start watching it and/or after it has been downloaded you should be provided the movie to view it. Not bumped to the landing page of the iTunes App. how stupid is that. So you are there at the landing page for iTunes. Your first inclination is to try to navigate within iTunes to see it. If it is a,TV show that you rented your first inclination is to go to the TV show section. Then form there you will like deduce that you need to go to Purchases. but when you click Purchases it instead takes you  first to Music purchases. Then you might see or realize that there is a,TV show tab in the Purchases section, so you go there and and as opposed to showing you a chronological list of most recent individual purchases is defaults to a list of full seasonal TV show purchases, so then you see the seasonal show and it show an iCloud butont to download then entire season, hmm that would suck to then download the entire season, use all your minutes and then not be able to view any show cause even thoses don't show up in the Apple video App. I mean come on this really terrible, TERRIBLE useability.
So I have gone to the Apple Video App and nothing shows. I have done a search from the Apple search you can access when swiping right from the initial page of App icons. I actually see the TV show name listed from the title name search I do. And indeed it shows an associated Video App icon but when I click it momentarily (split second looks to be loading the video App and then crashes? And takes me back to the first screen of App icons.
So I simply can not watch any show with ITunes.
Netflix on the hand make the entire process a one click experience.

  • Downloaded movies on iPad are not showing in video app

I downloaded videos on my iPad straight from the iTunes Store. They show up a being downloaded, I see the status bar and time estimate, the video processes and then it disappears. When I click on the videos app there are no videos available for me to watch and it just redirects me to the iTunes Store.
    Things I have tried:
    Restarting my iPad
Closing out of iTunes and the video app via multitasking
Going into iTunes and clicking on purchased videos and downloading the video again
Checking if there are any restrictions placed on my device
I subscribe to iTunes Match and iCloud storage so I turned them on and off without any resolution
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!
I just received the new iPad as a gift and am regretting selling my original iPad that never gave me any problems like this...

Quit the Videos app completely and then go back and look again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Or try this, if that didn't work.
Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of any of your movies in the field at the top. When the movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if all is OK.

  • Downloaded Podcast RSS Episode does not stay in the original RSS feed.

    Hello,
I just upgraded to iTunes ver. 9 on a windows XP PC. Before the upgrade my podcasts would download into the original RSS podcast feed created when I entered the initial URL. Since the update every time the new podcast’s is downloaded they dissapear from the original RSS feed and become an episode all alone within the podcast window. I want them to stay within the feed like before. I have spent hours trying to make changes under the info to try to make the podcast stay inside the original podcast folder with no luck. Before this upgrade the podcast downloads worked exactly the way I wanted them to, but since the upgrade I find it difficult to manage my selections. Is this a bug or is there some way to make the podcast group the way they used to? Any help would be appreciated. I am a new iTunes user who plans to move to the iphone in December so the configuration of iTunes is critical to this decision as I plan to synchronize my selections.
Thanks for any help you may provide!

i have the exact same problem... already made a post about it as well. please keep me posted if you find anything, ill do the same.

  • I am regularly getting a message "...cannot be played on this iPad" when trying to download podcasts.

I am regularly getting a message "...cannot be played on this iPad" when trying to download podcasts while using a strong wifi connection.
I accidently deleted an episode that I wanted to save to listen to again and went to redownload it and got the message so the file and/or publisher aren't the issue.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me get my iPad to function correctly!

I am getting the same issue!! I have found it only seems to do it on podcasts with explicit content like idiot abroad or frankie Boyle.

  • Why does it take so long to download on my iPad 2?

Why does it take so long to download on my iPad? My wifi is strong and working perfectly with other computers.  Also, it's slow on my original iPad.

    natmac wrote:
I did what was suggested above (closing all apps and then resetting the iPad). Then I tried to download the movie the Smurfs (for my kid ofcourse!). It's 3.4 GB. In the first hour I have downloaded 1 GB. So it looks like it's going to take at least 3.5 hours to download a movie.  Does this seem correct? My speed is 10 mbps.
Sems a little high but not unreasonable.  Figure that a true 10Mbps would take almost exactly an hour for 3.4GB.  Your 10Mbps rate is the rate to the ISP, which is the absolute best that you can hope for.  Maneuvering data through the many switches in the Internet probably cuts that in half, which would mean two hours.  However, that means absolutely nothing because the weak link in the chain is the rate that the server can send the data.  Consider that we just had a major holiday with many children expecting many movies.  It wouldn't surprise me if the server can send only 2 or 3Mbps per subscriber.
By the way, I do not agree that closing apps and resetting the iPad makes the slightest bit of difference.
My theoretical rate is a tad shy of 5Mbps.  As best I can recall, movies take several hours to download.  My routine is to start the download as I'm going to sleep.  The movie is then available the next day.  No fuss, no bother.

  • Why can I no longer download podcasts to my iPhone with Podcast 2.1?

Podcast 2.1 automatically updated on my iPhone 4s with iOS 7.1.1. After the update, I can no longer download podcasts to my iPhone via WiFi and my downloaded podcasts from iTunes do not sync and transfer to my iPhone. Also, if I try to listen while downloading it only plays for a minute and crashes. Why would Apple release such a bad update that makes the Podcast app not work at all!?

I am having the opposite problem. Even though downloads are off in the settings, it refuses to stop trying to download new podcasts. I prefer to manage it through iTunes, but the app insists on doing it all itself now. It is unusable for my purposes in this state.
At first I thought I was really going to like this update.

  • New iMa..old iPad and movies that are in iPad already not showing?

I have a new iMac and have transferred my iTunes from a MacBook Pro.
It didn't transfer so smoothly as all the playlists disappeared and some of the movies couldn't be copied.
I have now tried to add new playlists and movies with my previously synced iPad.
When I try to copy movies over it tells me my iPad is almost full(it does have the movies that were previously synced with the Macbook Pro still showing).
When I select the On This iPad option it only shows the 3 movies that I have recently added.
Initially a message came up saying that 2 itunes libraries couldn't be used (I don't remember the exact message)..I selected the option to delete the iPad and sync with this library but nothing happened.
Even the bottom tells me there is still 15.80GB free, yet when I try and add anything else like another movie or more songs it tells me the iPad is full?
    Any suggestions?

What you are doing is now clear to me, you are explaining it perfectly. You set the iPad up via WiFi, visit you have not synced with iTunes on your computer yet.
I have one more "card to play". If this doesn't do it, I am totally stumped. There is no reason why previously purchased songs and videos - that are showing up in the purchased tab of iTunes and have been "downloaded" to your iPad - should not be showing up on the iPad.
Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then see of the songs are there.
