Download problem IOS 6.0.1

My Ipad 2 (Wifi) reports an error in downloading IOS 6.0.1. via Wifi.
1.     Downloading starts and looks fine.
2.     After downloading the program it reports the update is in being prepared.
3.     At app 80% of that process it reports an error that the download has failed and that I should try it again.
Who has the solution for this issue?
Any suggestions on how I can solve this issue are more than welcome.
Please note I already took the following steps:
a.     Soft reboot of Ipad
b.     Icoud reserve copy made just in advance of downloading IOS 6.01.

I live in South Africa, and I had the same problem with my iPhone 4.
After weeks of frustration and swearing, I was in the process of restoring my phone to a previous iOS. To do that you need to turn the "Find my iPhone" option off, since i turned it off, my problem was solved. No need to repair anything or revert back to old iOS.
***** that i cant use Find my iPhone, but atleast i can use my phone.

I imagine a ton of people are attempting to download it right now. Simple patience, maybe keep trying, and if possible, try a little later. Think of it as all those people lining up at Apple Stores + about a million more.

Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you can't update the iOS device. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

"Eingabe der Seriennummer zusätzlich eine "alte Seriennummer"" hört sich nach einer Updateversion. Falls keine Vorversion vorhanden ist, ist diese leider "Wertlos". Also nochmal genau auf die Box oder den Bestellvorgang schauen.
"Es kommt die Meldung: "Beim Extrahieren einiger Dateien ist ein Problem aufgetreten". Passiert manchmal beim Auspacken der Installationsdateien. Einfach mal 7-zip installieren und das Installationsprogramm auspacken. Da drinn gibt es einen 32bit und 64bit Ordner mit den eigendlichen Setups. Das korrekte Setup starten.
Die aktuell LR Version kann hier Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1 heruntergeladen werden. Eine älteren LR5 Version muss vorher nicht installiert werden. Allerdings löst auch das nicht das Problem mit der "Update"-Lizenennummer.

Did you change any AppleID accounts or anything? I've seen this happen when changing accounts or certain restore situations.
If you are using iCloud you should be able to reset your phone to Factory Defaults and restore from iCloud, but it always makes me nervous.

Sup720 IOS Upload/Download problem

I'm using Cat6509 with "s72033-psv-mz.122-18.SXD3.bin"
I tried to upload new IOS from my PC to Catalyst and download that IOS from Catalyst to my PC.
In both cases, during the process, it stops with displaying "timed out" message.
When it stops,in upload, the size of the incomplete IOS is 33.5MB
Do you know why this happens?

Another option that is POSSIBLE (but I'm not sure it is recommended) with the newer memory modules (CF) and Sup720 in native mode would be to use a USB flash memory drive to read and write the files to CF. Obviously you'd want to verify this in a non-production switch to make sure the formatting is compatible and the file is readable, but I have been able, on my 6513 with Sup720-3BXL and my USB 7-in-1 drive to read/write the CF after formatting it on the Cisco first and copy new code version to the CF card then insert & verify the bin file.
Please also note the SXD3 is deferred and is not recommended for deployment last I knew and can have a bad bug if you accidentally create a subdirectory on the CF card (while using the above method) where the whole switch will reboot and continue to reboot - SXD4 or SXD5 if it exists is the current recommended in that release train for SXD I think..
It's a documented bug in the bug tool, but doesn't SPECIFICALLY state that a subdirectory will trigger it, only "corrupted flash", which is what the IOS in that version thinks the directory existing really is... SXD4 fixes that bug. OR, even easier, don't create subdirectories on it if you are using a PC to transfer images to the CF! :-)
Either using FTP or a different TFTP server, as Amit and the other poster mentioned, will also work.

IOS 6.1 download problems - stuck in recovery mode

If your iPad, iPhone or iPod are stuck in recovery mode, try the following:
1. download the firmware for your device: http://www.ngbtips.com/download-links-ios-6-1-official-firmware.html
2. plug your device into a computer running iTunes
3. when the "restore device box" pops up, control click on button to restore
4. restore your device from the firmware you downloaded

Ever since I downloaded the iOS 6 update, my car stereo no longer works like it did before

My Pioneer car stereo worked exactly like it was supposed to with my iPhone 4s. By syncing to the car stereo, I could listen to all of my music on my iPhone and receive Pandora in the car. Since I downloaded the iOS 6 update two weeks ago, my car stereo has basically become inert, no longer syncs to my iPhone and has turned my expensive car stereo into a glorified CD player. I googled this problem first and noticed many other people had the exact same problem that I have. Since I can't undo the iOS 6 update (****, I wish I could), is there anyone out there with a similar problem and is there anything to remedy this problem. I will never download an Apple update again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the pioneer avh-3400bh. Prior to iOS6 on my iphone 4, everything worked as it should. Upon updating to ios6 on the 4, and now also with the iphone 5, my head unit will play BT audio, but it receives no track/data information. Using USB, I can no longer use my phone to browse songs, I can only use the head unit control. the phones tell me that an accessory is connected and won't allow me to do anything. It's a connection timeout error. Google for a copy of iOS 5.0.1 and download it to your computer. Prepare to restore your iPhone but hold down Option (Mac) or Shift (Windows) when clicking Restore to bring up an explorer where you can manually install iOS 5.0.1 on your device, since you do not require a full download from the Apple Servers other than to verify your iOS build being installed.

First make sue you are installing the 64 bit version of iTunes.
Second make sure it is iTunes 10.7 or later.
I would download a fresh copy of the 64 bit version of iTunes 11. After installation reboot your computer.
Before connecting your phone reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
