Download problems, also can't download Firefox update

Just recently, I am having problems with downloading attachments or even e.g. a bill. I also can't download Firefox update which is on my screen when I log on. I have looked at the ;'Download' box and a message repeats:-
Server does not support RFC 5 746 See 2009/3555
I haven't experienced this problem until today
I am not very computer savvy although I have been on line for over 10 years

Ok, let's first try to update your Firefox. Go to [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com], download the latest version of Firefox, and install it. Then try downloading what you tried before.
If it doesn't work, Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.

i downloaded firefox update, had nothing but troubles since, computer crashing when i try to open, or cursor lag for a long time ie. i try to move to do something it has to think about for 30 seconds to having to pushing reset to get anthing hapening
but still freezes up i put my comp into a very good repair store cost me $119 to only to find no problem with computer, they had it running ,burning , doing everything properly, but they were using ie, as soon as i stoped that and went to firefox, back to lag etc. com bluescreen then crashing when i got home twice so far tried using previous version in system same problem, how do i send my bookmarks from firefox to ie on this system, so i can completely uninstall then reistall a fresh earlier version

I have to agree, fixing something that was working fine and replacing it with the new crap has led me to switch browsers.BIG FAIL MOZILLA

Turn off updating to keep your good working version or you will be forced to use the new version that is missing some well used features.

I have the same issue on my iPhone 5s
I've closed the app and re-booted the phone several times but it did not resolve the issue.
Upgrading to iOS 8.0.2 did not resolve it either.
Erasing the iPhone and restoring from a backup did not resolve it.
I'm not sure what else to do.

Have downloaded firefox update 3 times and it doesn't run

I have just started to use firefox on my pc which has windows 7. I keep getting a message saying I need to update the version of firefox, so I down load it and it says it is downloaded ( I now have it 3 times) but it doesn't run and still keepstellin me I need to upgrade it??? DO I just go back to internet explorer???

* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

I periodically get on my screen a notice of an available update to Firefox. It says to click in order to download. I do so and it goes on forever and continues indefinitely. I also tried to download Firefox 5 manually and when trying to put it into my applications folder got a message that I couldn't 'cause I didn't have permission for all things . I would like to script Firefox updates using vbScript, PowerShell or C#, are there any API calls I use to do this? There are several different OS version versions that I support and auto update is not an option. I do updates at a specific time of the month. I would like to write a script that would download and install the update for the currently installed version of Firefox (32 or 64 bit) for the version of the OS (32 or 64bit). I can detect the OS version and the Firefox version. I can download updates but I do not want to hard code anything.

How can I set Firefox update preferences via script so I can configure our 200 Macs to disable checking for updates?

Most of our Mac users do not have admin privileges. So when they get alerted about Firefox updates, they don't have the ability to install them. We would like to disable Firefox for checking for updates, then push out updates from our software server as needed. We have about 200 machines to configure. Is there a way to disable checking for updates via script (bash or Applescript)? And if so, is there a guide or web site to explain the process?

Downloaded Firefox update for my Mac and now when I open it, there is a white box at the top of the page with a grey bar in it that I can't get rid of

I updated my firefox browser for my Mac and now, when I open it, an empty white box appears at the top of the page with only a gray bar in it. It over lays the Firefox home page and I can't get rid of it, so I can't click on anything on the Firefox page. I tried deleting Firefox and redownloading it, but that didn't help. I have to force quite Firefox to get out of it. Help!

The GMail is you AppleID, don't confuse yourself.
For your e-mail check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > your account > your e-mail provider settings here.
