Download problems with Photoshop CS6

just had Windows 7 installed replacing the old windows xp and I used the like given to me by the adobe live chat to download my photoshop cs6 but when it came topening the file it came up with windows can't open this fil: File Photoshop_13_LS16 (2).7z
it then suggests either usuing a web service to find the correct programme
or
select a program from a list of installed programmes
I tried the first option and was then directed to Winzip which you pay for to open a 7Z file, i didn't go any further
any help would be appreciated

there are two files for you to download: an exe (file 1 of 2) and the 7z (file 2 of 2).
both should be placed in the same directory and the exe should be clicked (or double) clicked. the 7z file should NOT be manually extracted using winzip or any other utility. it is extracted by the exe.

Problem with Photoshop CS6. If I open a file using Camera RAW

I have a new problem with Photoshop CS6. If I open a file using Camera RAW, and process it as usual, CS6 doesn't want to save it the way it used to. I don't know if I changed something by accident or not.
Here's what happens now: After opening from ACR to CS6 and completinhg all of my work, I choose "Save as..." The save as window opens showing the file name and format. The default format seems to be .PSD. I use the drop down to select .jpg. The file saves normally as a .jpg. When I go to close the image from, I get a new prompt asking, "Save changes to Adobe Photoshop document DSC_xxxx.NEF before closing?
I looked up at the file name in the bar above the work space and noticed that it does NOT change from "DSC_xxxx.NEF" to "DSC_xxxx.jpg" after I have saved the file as a .jpg,in my webesite but it always used to do that. This adds a few extra steps when closing a document and it really slows me down.
In fact, I wouldn't swear to this, but I think it used to save to .jpg by default, without me specifying this.
I don't see a setting in the preferences for what to use as the default file format for saving, so I don't know where to change it back.
Any ideas?

When Place Image in Photoshop, error msg: 'Problem with Photoshop CS6 caused program to stop working

When I 'Place Image' in Photoshop, the following error msg comes up: 'A Problem with Photoshop CS6 has caused the program to stop working, close programme?'
Do I need to adjust my set-up to run this? The PC operates on a 32-bit system/Windows 6.

You need to provide much more info: What files are you trying to place into what document? What are the document sizes, resolution, color mode etc.? Anything else we should know about? This could be a million things from color profile issues to color space mismatches to the files to be placed being damaged or badly structured or a importer module being broken. Problem with Photoshop CS6

I recently uninstalled Adobe CS5 Premium Suite and I am currently using Adobe CS6 Premium Suite (both were on my iMac). Since uninstalling CS5, I now get a message when opening Photoshop CS6 that says "One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop." I don't seem to have my original CS6 .dmg installation file. Can I download it from Adobe (just Photoshop)? I do have my original serial number saved.

The problem with that scenario is you have a suite serial number and you can't use it on a standalone Photoshop installer.

There may be a Custom or Repair option that the suite Installer might give you.

Problems with Photoshop CS6 Recognizing Multiple Graphics Cards

I have a quad monitor setup with two graphics cards with the latest drivers downloaded today and installed directly off of the manufacturer's websites:
1) AMD Radeon R9 200 Series 4GB GDDR5
2) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1GB GDDR5
I have Photoshop CS6 64-bit (along with the rest of the Adobe Design and Web Premium) installed on my computer - which I uninstalled and reinstalled today also - and it's claiming that it has detected an error with my display driver. The Graphics Processor Settings box in Preferences is greyed out, and I've used the shift+ctrl+alt to reset preferences and check again to no avail. I've also set both of my graphics cards to turn on OpenGL Triple Buffering and to let the 3D application decide the image settings. Here's my system info, where you can see that the GPU sniffer crashed and that no video card is detected:

Yes Adobe states if you use more then one GPU adapter they should be the same else Photoshop may have problems. Photoshop CC and CC 2014 GPU FAQ
Are you using more than one video card?
Multiple video adapters can cause problems with GPU-accelerated or enabled features in Photoshop. It's best to connect two (or more) monitors into one video adapter. If you have to use more than one video adapter, make sure that they are the same make and model.
Otherwise, crashes and other problems can occur in Photoshop.
Note: Using more than one video adapter does not enhance Photoshop's performance.

Problem with Photoshop CS6 Freezing up when saving OSX Mavericks 10.9

I have a iMac we purchased last year (27inch, 32GB Ram, 512GB Flash Storage, OSX 10.9 Mavericks) with Adobe CS6 installed on it. About 2 months ago our Graphic Designer started having problems where when she went to save a Photoshop file the Mac would freeze up and just show the spinning pinwheel, after this happens we are unable to to even shut the system down and have to resort to holding the power button until it shuts off. Now this doesn't happen every time and we went almost a month with a problem but it has started back up and is happening multiple times a day. We have tried re installing CS6, creating a new profile for the user, deleting the library folder, saving to the desktop instead of a network location but nothing has seemed to do the trick. I'm a Windows Sysadmin so I'm out of my depths here and my poor Graphics Designer is getting really upset. Has anyone out there every had something like this happen??

Problems with Photoshop cs6 tools

I just got Photoshop cs6, and I am probably at intermediate level in expertise. When I try to use the marquee tool, the lasso tool or the quick selection tool on an image, the image just goes black. I have to click back to "Open" on the History the get the actual image back. I have Windows 7 64 bit. I have never had this problem with other versions of Photoshop.

Offline Activation problems with Photoshop CS6 - ver 13_LS16

I have a computer that cannot be connected to the internet.
Adobe advises in its support pages under Offline Activation a number of steps to activate the software.
Step 1 is
1. Follow the installation or product launch screens until you see a link that says "I cannot connect to the internet" or "Having trouble connecting to the internet". Click the link and follow the instructions on the subsequent screen to initiate offline activation. Instructions there will tell you how to generate a Request Code.
However, version 13_LS16 of Photoshop which I just downloaded does NOT offer such a link during either installation or launching - just a continuous loop of "Retry" a connection.
Two calls to the Support Center met with incorrect information. Neither person knew that CS6 can be activated offline. In the past I have used tjhe Call Center successfully to exchane REQUEST Codes and RESPONSE CODES to install earlier versions of Photoshop. Clearly, the Call Center staff need training.
How do I get to a screen on this offline computer which allows me to generate the REQUEST CODE which is used for Offline Activation???

Phil I don't see the Photoshop CS6 registered under your account. I would recommend contacting our support team directly at Contact Customer Care and verifying the serial number is valid and it is not an upgrade version.

I would recommend having the serial number reviewed to ensure their will be no activation difficulties. Please also be aware that the offline activation process does still require a computer with Internet access. This can be a smartphone, tablet, a simple web browser capable of secure http connections. The offline activation process is as follows:
Launch the product.
At the Serial Number Validation screen, click Having Trouble Connecting To The Internet.
Click Offline Activation and click Generate a Response Code.
Write down the Request Code.
Switch to an online computer and navigate to www.adobe.com/go/getactivated.
Click Offline Activation.
Sign in with your Adobe ID.
Enter your Request code and click Generate.
Write down the Response code.
Switch back to the offline computer.
Enter the Response Code and click Activate.

Where do i find frames in photoshop CS6 & how do i remove background images in photos ?

For frames go to the top menu and select Windows then animation panel. The frames are visible in that panel.
To remove a background, will depend on the type of background, solid colors especially black or white are the easiest. As you can use the color range tool in the selection menu. For a complex background, you may need to use the selection tools, and depending on which is the simpler of the two you will need to select the foreground object or the background. If you choose the foreground you will need to invert your selection from the selection menu.
If the image is on the background layer (the layer says background and you see a lock symbol) you need to unlock that layer by dragging the lock symbol to the trashcan.
Now you can either delete the background or apply a mask. In either case what was selected will now be transparent. (If the wrong part is transparent, undo and invert the selection) {To create a mask from a selection, with the image layer selected find the icon at the bottom of the layers panel that looks like a circle inside of a square and click it. Don't worry about the selection disappearing thats normal}
I highly recommend that you use a mask instead of deleting the background. This makes the image non-destructible in that you can at a later date change your mind of fix it if it doesn't look quite right. Deleting pixels is permanent.

I am facing installation problems with Photoshop CS6

So I downloaded the trial to Adobe Photoshop CS6 when it came out, then that trail ended. Now in october 2012 I purchased a year subrisption to Photoshop CS6 but when I downloaded it and I had to install, it said "instalation failed" becuase "A conflicting or prerelease version of Adobe Photoshop CS6 exists on this computer. The conflicting version must be removed before installing from the current media." So I wasnted able to find the previous trial version to delete it, what can I do?

10.8.3. problem with photoshop CS6

After updating today one of my machines to 10.8.3 I lost some functions in photoshop 13.0.4 x64 (CS6). Specially the command "trim" doesn't respond in any way. Running an existing action shows the same non-reaction. Is there anyone with same experience? Thanks for similar records.

i downloaded trial version of photoshop, trial ended, and i just purchased photoshop. it wont download. the trial version keeps showing up. i uninstalled and reinstalled multiply times.

Are you seeing a screen with a License This Software button? If so and you click it does Photoshop activate (you may need to sign in with your Adobe ID)?
If clicking License This Software does not work, then a few questions:
Which operating system version are you on?
Which browser are you using to download?
You have a Single App subscription via the Creative Cloud, or did you purchase a Photoshop license?
