Pg4mq / procedural gatway for websphere MQ
Hello
Can anybody tell me where I can find/download the pg4mq / procedural gateway for websphere MQ.
We would like to connect via Oracle to MQSeries and right now we are a bit lost in between the AQ, Streams and Gateways :-)

Hi,
I have joined a company which has a legacy 10.2.0.4 RAC on windows. They did not have anyone to manage and now i am in.
I recommended them to upgrade to the certified version, but they do not want it as it will be decommissioned.
Now we have to connect to sql server from this database. I want to install gateway for that but i cannot find it for download.
Please let me know from where can i download.
And also i saw some discussions, where in it says it is possible to do this with out gateway?

I would put the emphasis on the first part of your statement:
here the gateway would be installed on a RAC cluster.
Installing on the cluster, and the further decision to install on multiple nodes of the cluster, is a local decision. There is nothing about the gateway itself that requires this.
So you have n-node installations (as it does not ake sense to have the gateway just on one node which might be down). When you install DG4MSQL (not DG4ODBC) on 2 machines then you need two licenses as the gateway is licensed on a machine basis and it does not matter to how many MS SQL Server machines you're going to connect to.

I would agree with the obvious. IF (and I doubly-emphasize the "IF") one determined they wanted to install on multiple nodes of a cluster, they would have to consider the licensing implications.
However, my point is that there is no inherent need to install the gateway on a cluster in the first place, and so no need to incur that licensing issue.

1.1 Gateway Installation Configurations
You can install Oracle Database Gateway in either of the following configurations:
On the same computer as an existing Oracle database but in a different Oracle home.
On a system with no Oracle database.
On the same computer as the Oracle database and in the same Oracle home directory. Note that in this case, the Oracle database and the gateway must be at the same release level.
And if anyone is tempted to say "well, that's for *nix installations", the Windows installation guide says the same thing:
From Oracle® Database Gateway Installation and Configuration Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2) for Microsoft Windows E12061-06 (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/gateways.112/e12061/overview.htm#OTGIW100)
1.1 Gateway Installation Configurations

Which is exactly what we opted for at my shop. Since the gateway is a system-wide resource, used to connect ANY of our oracle databases to ANY of our MSSQL databases, no one server made any more sense than any other. I wanted to have to manage only a single gateway and not have to worry about which gateway was on which machine to service which databases. -
Oracle Messaging Gateway vs. Oracle Procedural Gateway
What is difference between Oracle Messaging Gateway for IBM MQSeries and Oracle Procedural Gateway for IBM MQSeries? Which one is the best solution for IBM WebSphere MQ integration from architecture design point of view? Does anyone have any documentation on comparing Oracle Messaging Gateway for IBM MQSeries with Oracle Procedural Gateway for IBM MQSeries, for example, pros and cons etc?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
YangDear Yang!
I have the same problem considering the two possibilities to connect ibm with oracle...
Did you get some useful information or do you have some experience now? If yes could you please update the post!
Thanks

Using oracle procedural gateway to connect to mq series
Hi,
I am working on setting up my connection to export data from oracle database to db2 using mq-series.
MQ-Series client software and oracle procedural gateway v9 are installed on HP-UX .
initsid.ora & initsid.gtwboot file for the gateway are configured. listener.ora and tnsnames.ora are also configured and running.
I created a dblink and then tried to test my connection using the test scripts given by IBM.
I got the following error,

ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-28509: unable to establish a connection to non-Oracle system

I generated a trace and I got the following information from listener.trc

I researched online and made sure that I have enough swap, memory on my OS.I increased the value for processes in init.ora file.
My log files have not exceeded the maximum limit.
The trace shows that my listener is loosing contact when it is trying to read the driver from /u46/oracle/app/oracle/product/bin/pg4mqc90drv.
I am not sure how to proceed from this point, though I have a thought of relinking my libraries in oracle.
Can anyone give any information on this.Hi,

Cannot find where to download Gateway for SQL Server
I have searched OTN every which way to find the Oracle Transparent Gateway for SQL Server. I have checked my CD's and I have every one imaginable but not the one for SQL server. Why? Where is it hidden? I am trying to connect to a SQL Server 6.0 and an Oracle 8.1.6.3 Database at the same time.
[email protected]Hello,
All of the downloads are [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft11.html]here. According to the [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/collateral/papers/11/certification/index.html]certification page, JDev 11.1.1.3 is certified against Windows 2008 server, so I'd start by downloading the Windows version from there (even though they didn't update the description to say "for windows 2008")

Free download of transparent gateway for SQL Server
Can anyone give me the URL where I can download the transparent gateway for SQL Server.. I searched OTN but couldn't find it. I just want to try it out..
Thanks. The indicated URL also shows the zip for the 10gR2 gateways for Windows software: 10201_gateways_win32.zip
To use a gateway you also have to use an Oracle database as a so-called integrating kernel. In this Oracle database you define the database link to the gateway to be able to connect to SQL Server.
But TG4MSQL 10gR2 has been desupported, which means that bugfixing has been stopped. Also just to make clear, allthough the software can be freely downloaded the product itself requires a license when you decide to use it after testing it.
And I recommend to try the DG4MSQL 11gR1 software instead, it can also be found at Oracle Technet:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle11g/111070_win32_2008soft.html
When using a 11gR1 database gateway the Oracle database you use with the gateway must be 10.2.0.4.0 or higher. Or have a closer look at Metalink document: 457808.1 - Database Patch 5965763 Required For Pre-11g Databases Using 11g Database Gateways
Look for: win32_11gR1_gateways.zip

10g Release 2 download link broken (gateways for Linux)
I am downloading 10.2 for Linux from the page at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/10201linuxsoft.html
and the link for Oracle Gateways - http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/oracle10g/10201/10201_gateways_linux32.zip
gives a 404 error.
Anyone know the correct location and/or file name?

Error fetching data from a foxpro db using Oracle Gateway for ODBC
Hi.
I have an 10.2.0.1 database an a 11.2.0 Oracle Gateway for ODBC installed and configured.
The dblink test works fine, I can connect with the foxpro database because if I execute desc centros I can see the
columns of table centros.
The problem comes when I try to execute Select * from centros@fox1;
A syntax error is returned ([Microsoft][ODBC Visual FoxPro Driver]Syntax error. {42000,NativeErr = 200})
I paste down the output of the trace file with HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL=255
If I run select codcen from centros@fox1; another error is shown. Tell me if you want the other trace file.

Only 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 can be used as the Oracle database HS kernel requires a gateway compatibility patch and this patch is included in 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 Oracle database patch set.
Then another error in the trace is that for each column description you have an error:

It seems it is not critical as DG4ODBC continues, but a more detailed analysis would require an ODBC trace.
When looking at the table description it seems the column names are all in lower letters, for example: solar. So commonly Dg4ODBC needs to quote the names

and according to the trace the FoxPro ODBC driver doesn't like these quotes and reports a syntax error.
So this explains at least why select codcen from centros@fox1 will fail. In general the Oracle database is case insensitive and translates all object names to upper case and the select it will pass to the foreign database would be similar to:
select CODCEN from CENTROS => which will fail as FoxPro is case sensitive. So the error message ORA-00904 (missing column name) is correct and the statement you need to use is:
select "codcen" from centros@fox1;
But this might lead again to the Syntax error you got earlier => You need to check which sign (single quote, back tick, double quote) Foxpro uses to quote object names and then set the gateway parameter HS_FDS_QUOTE_IDENTIFIER accordingly.
To check which character can be used to quote column/table names you might use the Microsoft ODBc test utility which was distributed in the old MDAC 2.8:

If you know where I can download the MS FoxPro ODBC driver, please let me know and I'll check. -
Groupwise 7 Gateway for Exchange
I am testing the Novell Groupwise Gateway for Exchange SP2. I have already tested the API Gateway but wanted to try the newer version because it will be supported for awhile. I downloaded the install and went through all the instructions. I am using Groupwise 7.0.1 and Exchange 2003. The install went fine and the configurations are correct but I must be missing something. When I go to start the Gateway Application it starts then stops. I checked on the GW MTA and it says the link is Closed. The reason the link it closed it says can't create directories. I checked the Gateway application and it shows Groupwise link closed and other link Open. I logged into a ws as the same user to check the rights and I was able to create a new directory in the domain directory. I changed the logging to verbose on the Exchange Gateway to see if I can see an error and it says trying to re-establish GW link.

Gateway for informix: Unsupported Informix Server and other errors
I set up the Database Gateway for Informix on WinXP 32 to connect from an Oracel 10gR2 Database to an Informix Database (Infomix Online Dynamic Server V7.31UP1).
The basic connection seems to work (giving a wrong password in the database link results in an appropriate error message), but the test-statement "select * from DUAL@DLTEST" (and any other select) results in the following error message:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

What's going wrong ?
Regards KlausHello,
I downloaded the gateway package of Oracle version 11.1.0.6.0, and installed Informix gateway driver. I made the necessary settings, and i have exactly the same problem, as described above.
I receive error message "OracleODBC Informix Wire Protocol driverUnsupported Informix Server version.OracleODBC Informix Wire Protocol driverInvalid attribute in connection string: ArraySize.OracleODBC Informix Wire Protocol driverInvalid attribute in connection string: TruncateOversizedColumnValues." when trying to set up a connection from Oracle to Informix 7.3. I read here, that there is a patch of Informix gateway: fix 6799360, which is unfortunately not available for for download for Windows XP. I cannot search MetaLink for this problem, because I just would like to test this Oracle feature, I did not buy Oracle license.
Does anybody know about this patch? Can anybody help how could I make working this Informix gateway?
Thanks for help, Gyula -
What Download Video Program for Mac is as Good as Orbit is for Windows??
12/29/2008. Friends, I have searched and searched and searched for a video download program for Mac that will download videos from almost any website besides just YouTube and such, but to no avail. The latest OrbitDownloader 2.8.1 for Windows is excellent and will do this for Windows on a PC. What similar download video program for Mac will perform as excellently or almost as good?? I've tried Firefox's Video Downloader Helper but can not get it to work. I've tried Mori but don't know how to get it to work. I've tried Perian but again don't know how to get it to work, I just get a window that says "Uninstall." I will really appreciate finding such a program for Mac, for my iBook G4 which has Leopard OS X 10.5.4 and WiFi. Many thanks. Chuck Y., Chicago
1/2/2009. Thank you all for your help. I love this wonderful feature I find about Apple Discussion Forums, so many friends. I did not know about Perian's instructions until you informed me. [www.perian.org/#watch] I'm glad that I gave the example of "POV Inheritance," because it is somewhat complex. First a person must locate the POV Inheritance website. For Perian, to go into Windows Activity at that point shows only that line. No one told me that I must click the wee arrow to the left of that line. Then a long drop list appears. But none of those help. So one must return to and on the website click "Watch the streaming video online" or ". . . now." That brings up another sub-website on which a person must click "Watch the Full Film." Then one can choose between five "chapters," and go into Windows Activity again. Then appears "net + public affairs player: video." Then one clicks the small arrow on the left of "net+ public affairs video" and sees 17 selections. All except one are small kbs. One has a large megabyte file. Select and Command + C that, and then go into Windows Downloads and Command + V [paste]. Then the download begins. And the person must do that for each of the five chapters. The other option is not to click any of the "chapters" but instead click "Watch the Full Film," and then click Windows Activity and then the small arrow left of "net + public affairs : video" and on the drop down list appear, among many, the five separate chapter files [the ones with large megabyte files], and continue as per a few lines above. The Perian procedure is simple. Getting to the line to be downloaded, in this case, is more complex, and so a good example from which to learn.
RealPlayer 11.0.0 [or 11.0.1] and its RealPlayer Downloader work very well too and may be simpler.
Thank you all and Happy New Year cruising with your Apple Macs. C. Yopst, Chicago -
