I don't believe it, I went through the whole process of cloning drive and attempting to update to mountain lion.
I have a white 24 inch iMac 6.1 2.33 Ghz intel core 2 duo, I purchased it just before the silver ones came out, don't remember when exactly when but its not compatible with Mountain Lion.
I find it very hard to believe that its obsolete so quick, I have the floating lamp iMac, G5 20 inch iMac and looks like this one is now joining them in the basement.

  • How can I download CS6 without installing now?

I have a Serial CD Key for CS6 Master Suite.  I would like to download the install package to be installed later?  It does not seem to be an option on the download site.  I also would like to buy the DVD backup disks but also can't find how that is done?

Download a trial, and remember the location where you save the installers.
Once the download is complete, go the location where you saved the installer and copy them to a location of your choice. You may also burn them on a disk for future use if you wish.

  • Any way to do this? Windows program without installing windows.

I got Adobe Premier Pro last year after winning a local film competition. I got a PC version because my best computer at the time was a PC. Now I have a Macbook pro and would really like to do my editing on it. I know I could install XP on the Mac with bootcamp but I don't really want to. I was wondering if there was anyway of somehow getting the PC version to work. Possibly emulating it somehow. I don't really have the money to buy XP anyway and I'm moving away to college with only the macbook. I have no desire to go back to imovie. Is there any way to get Primeire Pro to work with out having XP?
Macbook Pro 17 in.   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Not yet, but I think some 3rd party developers are working on a solution similar to WINE (on Linux) that would allow Windows programs to boot up in a Mac environment.

  • Download lion without install

I just bought a standalone copy of osx 10.7. But I want to install onto a different computer than the one I've downloaded to. How do I do this? It appears that it simply wants to go straight to install. If I do the install on this computer, can I still used it to upgrade my other computer. I don't want to lose the license.
    Thanks

Actually, nevermind. Answered my own question. It is already downloaded and resides in the Applications folder, which is exactly what I wanted.

  • Download Mavericks without installing

This may sound like a dumb question but I can't find an answer to it.  I have a MBP with ML.  I have a 2nd partition that I want to install Mavericks on to test it out. When I go to the App store it says "Install app" after I click upgrade.  I do not want to upgrade my ML main drive at all.  I just want to install Mavericks on the 2nd partition so I can verify software compatibility before actually upgrading.  If I click "install app" will it give me the option of which drive I want to install it on or simply upgrade my existing ML install?

You should get a choice (if the partition is mounted and compatible). The best option though is to quit the installer when the download is complete, then make a copy of the installer (it will be in the Applications folder) then you can use it how, where and when you like, and when the installer deletes itself after the installation you'll have a copy of it to use.

  • How to rum jmf programs without installing jmf

i want to run my jmf programs in my client system...But i want to avoid installing jmf in my client system..Please help

You only need to include the jmf.jar in your classpath to take advantage of it.
The idea of "installing JMF" on a system is that each app wouldn't have to include the jmf.jar (and since there's native versions for different platforms). Since JMF is, in general, used very little (mostly due to lack up updates to code and documentation), it's unlikely your users would be running more than one JMF app, so go ahead and just distribute the jmf.jar with the app.

  • Including visa32.dll without installing the complete Pci-MXI cd

    Hi,
I have an application made in Borland C Builder 6. this application inculudes some visa function.
Therefore I need the visa32.dll and NiViSv32.dll in my project.
Because i am developing the application in my room and not in the Lab where we have the VXI Rack, then i don't want to install the CD you deliver call PCI_MXI-2/VXI because there is no need. The problem is that i can't run the program without installing the software in the mentioned CD.Why can't I run my application only using the visa32.dll and NiViSv32.dll.
May be you can tell me if i am missing another file that is deliver with the CD.
    Thanks
    Yair.

Yari - I had the same problem (using MS VS C++). Older versions of visa32.dll (up to the last year or two) also had another dll named NiViIO32.dll in addition to NiViSv32.dll. These three dlls did exactly what you want. The latest visa32.dll doesn't use (depend on) NiViIO32.dll and instead depends on the VISA package. Your best bet (and what I did) is to download the VISA run-time engine (go to ni.com, select "Drivers and Updates" under "Technical Support, and then select the "VISA" Product Line, "VISA Run Time Engine" Software and the VISA Software Version and Operating System you use). It's a lot better than loading the full VISA system and MAX.
    Hope this helps,

  • Running a windows app on imac without installing windows

Hi, how can I install a windows based application on my mac and run the program without installing windows? I have tried a program called crossover which is supose to be an emulator but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas please.
    nev5ter

    Windows programs can't run natively:
    (Borrowed from Kappy)
    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.

  • Running a labview installer without installing drivers

Ouch. I have to install multiple LabView programs onto the same machine and they were all compiled with different versions. I don't have the luxury of rebuilding them. When I try installing some of them, the program won't let me install because newer drivers are already installed on the machine. Is there a way of running an installer to install the program without installing the drivers?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The folder where the installer was placed into should have a bunch of folder in the "bin" folder all starting with "p". These contain the various installers that are run. The actual installer for your executable should be in there somewhere, so you could try running it directly.

  • WSUS - Auto Download and Schedule Install

Hey, so I have a couple questions regarding WSUS:
    1. Can computers be set to daily check for updates from an internal WSUS server and download them without installing, and then automatically install those
updates at a different, scheduled time, whether they are connected or not?  (I see the GPO called "Automatic Updates detection frequency"
that I can configured, but it doesn't say whether updates are downloaded during this operation or not)
    2. Can computers be configured so that
they will download updates from an internal WSUS server first and if it's not available, then reach out to Microsoft?

So that would mean the answer to my initial question is No.  I want an option called "Auto download and install at scheduled time".
Let me clarify how this all works.
The Windows Update Agent periodically checks the WSUS server for updates. Updates it finds, it reports state for: Installed, Not Installed, Not Applicable. If a "Not Installed" update is approved and available, the WUA queues the installation files
for download if the Configure Automatic Updates policy is set to AUOption '3' or '4'.
The download occurs via Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) subsequent to the WUA finding the update as available for download.
When the download of the update is completed, the WUA does one of two things:
If the Configure Automatic Updates policy is set to AUOption '4', then the WUA will schedule the update for installation at the scheduled time. This scheduled installation does NOT require access to the WSUS server to be conducted.
If the Configure Automatic Updates policy is not set to AUOption '4', then the update will be retained on the client computer until a user launches the Windows Update applet from Control Panel and initiates the installation.
If the Configure Automatic Updates policy is set to AUOption '2', then the files will not be downloaded, and a logged on user must initiate the download using the Windows Update applet in Control Panel. This setting is typically used for highly mobile
computers that have only sporadic connections to the network servicing the WSUS server.
The downloading of files using BITS can be controlled using the BITS download policies in Group Policy. You can restrict the bandwidth used for downloads (per client) and/or restrict when those downloads are performed. Ergo, if you want downloads to
occur at 8pm each night, simply block the ability to download files prior to 8pm.
Please note, however, that the files MUST be completely downloaded BEFORE a scheduled installation event for the updates to be installed at that event, and the amount of time required to complete those downloads is highly unpredictable and will change from
month to month and client to client.
Finally, there is one last possible methodology, but this one is fraught with much risk. You can configure clients with AUOption '2', so they do not automatically download update files upon discovery. Then configure an Approval Deadline at the time you want
those updates to be installed. In this scenario, and ONLY this scenario, when the client reaches the Approval Deadline, it will automatically download -and- install the updates that have deadlines configured. In addition, this methodology also gives you some
capability to configure the *DAY* that updates are installed, not just the time. However, as several threads in this forum will attest, there are MANY opportunities using deadlines for things to go sideways. Be sure to anticipate ALL POSSIBLE scenarios before
initiating the use of Approval Deadlines, and more importantly! TEST! TEST! TEST! prior to implementing this methodology throughout the entire organization.

i bough a new imac, this haven't dvd burner, i bought a external dvd burner but the imac havent a idvd and i need this program, no other one, how to download this and install?

    Hi
how to download this and install?
There are no free DownLoads !
There are no legal DownLoads at all !
If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
    • iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay
    • DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
    • Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)
    • Burn - only free alternative I know of on internet. Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD
    Burn http://www.digital-digest.com/software/Burn.html
only You can buy from Apple is
    • FinalCut Pro-X which also can burn to DVD but without any nice themes.
    AppleMan1958
You can also buy Compressor from Apple for $50 US. It will also create DVD and BluRay but without the nice themes.
