Download randomly cancels

Hi all,
Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I couldn't seem to find anywhere else. Anyway, I just got an Ipod but was told I need to download the new version (7.0.2) However, whenever I try downloading, the download will randomly quit for no apparent reason-I've tried several times, and the farthest I ever got is 20%. My computer (an XP) will make that chime that usually means the download is done and the downloading screen will close out. Any ideas? Could it be because I have a really slow internet connection?

it is most likely because it is christmas and apple's servers are overloaded. Everyone is downloading iTunes or songs from the iTunes Store since they just got iPods. Just try again later. Things should be a bit calmer tomorrow.

I think that as soon as you click "Buy" and type in your details, the iTunes server is alerted that you have bought the item, even if it hasn't downloaded. Your "purchased" list is based on your account and not your computer so I'm afraid even if you haven't completed the download, you will be charged for it (but if you do now download it, you won't be charged again). This also means that you can't remove items from the purchased list.

Problem when file download is canceled

I have been using the following code to download files in a JSP and it works fine, except if the user cancels the download once it has started. Then my application seems to be locked up and the user has to start over. I added some println statements and found that when the cancel button is pressed the code just seems to wait inside the while loop. I thought the finally clause would be called, but I guess I was wrong. Any thoughts on how to continue after a canceled download?

Invalid singature was displayed when I tried to down load the newest software and the download was cancelled.

Repeated download after cancel

I have encountered the issue of where my downloads continue to try downloading even when i cancel and delete the file. What can I do to fully cancel and remove the files?

I just experienced the same problem. ISP is Verizon. Without any changes on my end, Mail started reloading all emails from the last 7 days ... over and over (hundreds of messages). I called Verizon support: no help. Far from it: they were downright nasty.
The problem went away as quickly as it appeared with no change on my end. I speculate that the Verizon tech escalated without letting me know and they changed a setting on the server.
I'm sure this is not help, but may add to the data for someone else to solve.

ITunes Locks Up After Podcast Download Was Canceled

I recently upgraded iTunes to Version 7.5. It seemed to work normally until tonight, when started to download a free podcast and then realized it was longer than I thought, so I canceled the download. iTunes then locked up, and I had to use Task Manager to get out of it. Since then, each time I have started iTunes, it starts normally but then quickly lists one download and locks up. I reinstalled iTunes, but it still does the same thing. I haven't been able to find a way to solve this problem. I believe this may be a bug in Version 7.5. I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

I'm running FF 3.06.16 in Win XP. For several months, every time I try to download a program, the downloads window reports the download was cancelled. How do I correct this?

I've installed a few recommended add-ons, but haven't seen a correlation to the download failures. Program downloads fail almost every time I attempt them. Don't know if this is associated, but pdf screens are often blank.

After you update to the current version which is 1.6.0_24, go to Tools | Add-ons | Extensions and disable version 1.6.0_20. Next, go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Java 1.6.0_20. Older versions of Java pose a security risk to your system.
Then go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ to update Flash.
If the problem persists, please do the following:
In the location bar at the top, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.
In the filter at the top, copy/paste the following setting:
'''browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone'''
Then double click it to change the setting from ''True ''to '''False'''.
Then close Firefox via File | Exit and restart it again.
Finally, go download a file again, right click it and choose "Open Containing Folder". Should be in the folder it was downloaded to.

Orders randomly cancelled

I've placed 4 orders for an iphone 5s already and all 4 orders have been cancelled with no explanation! Customer service reps keep telling me that there is fraud on the account, but the fraud department simply cannot be reached! I've been on hold for over an hour on several occasions, only to be disconnected with no answers. What is going on with my account? I'm seriously on the verge of cancelling my account. Worst customer service ever!

Download was canceled, cannot redownload content

Basically, purchased an audiobook, credit info needed updated, part 2/2 was deleted, and cannot redownload, as it says it was downloaded, and on purchases, it says nothing was purchased. However, I was billed for the purchase, and have part 1/2. I have been on here all night, and I know this is a fruitless venture here, but I am asking for help.

ITunes downloading random Unknown Artits M4a file

I recently updated to 9.2 iTunes and 4.0.1 iPhone 4 software and for some strange reason, when I plug in my iPhone, iTunes backs it up, but right at the end of the backup, it tries to download this file from my iTunes music folder.
F:\iTunes Folder\iTunes Media\Music\Unknown Artist\Unknown Album
This obviously is something that I donwloaded from iTunes, but why would it show up as unknown. It's a huge file that pretty much makes iTunes unresponsive, and I don't know why it's trying to access this file.
has anyone else had this problem?

You have to delete the corrupt back-up so iTunes can at least back-up the current data on the iPhone and then restore it. Search these forums, there a several good posts on how to delete the corrupt back-up.
