Download rental will not play

We have downloaded the movie and it shows the full time in the status at the top. It shows that we are at the begining, but when we hit play it says "Accessing the iTunes Store" the candy stripes run a little, then we are right back where we started before we hit play. Nothing happens.

Has it completed download?
Is it on the iPad, or in the cloud? (Cloud on the bottom of movie icon)?

You can’t open the application “QuickTime Player.app” because it may be damaged or incomplete. So I tried to unistall QT and I get an error that says, You can not delete this application as it is a requirement for the OSX.
Well I did find a way to delete it, by going into the various components and one by one deleting it. Now I reinstall it and the message is that this Quick Time is for an earlier version before Maverick 7. SMH....Now what.?

I would recommend processing a reinstall of Mavericks.

Rented movie downloaded but will not play

I have an USA Apple account. I am currently in the Philippines. I rented a movie thru Itunes. It is downloaded but will not play. Is there a fix for this?

@ sberman - All good questions, but the issue is being resolved as we speak. I downloaded a video rental to my iTunes 11.0.2 on my MacBook (OSX 10.6.8). I was trying to watch the rental on my machine, but as I said, nothing would play. To resolve the issue, I contacted Apple Support by submitting an issue ticket through iTunes. They reset my purchase/rental, and gave me some steps to try (upgrade iTunes, ensure download is complete before disconnecting from the internet, etc., etc.). Hopefully this works!

Just upgraded to new iTunes, downloaded shows, will not play.

I just upgraded to the newest itunes last night, and today I downloaded three episodes of Lost.
They will not play. It says time is elapsing, but there is no sound or video, just a gray screen.
Does anyone have any idea why?

Try the following: download BatChmod and run on the iDVD project package with the settings shown in the screenshot below:

If your files use a different Group you can use it. Then launch iDVD and see if you can open the project file.

HT1933 iTunes downloaded song will NOT play

Why can I view the song on the playlist (on both iPod and Powerbook) and yet the song will not play on either? It is NOT listed as having been interrupted as a download and the rest of the album plays without incident.

Sounds like a faulty file. Delete it and redownload a fresh one at no extra cost
Goto iTunes Store
Select Purchased from under Quick Links to the right
Navigat to the music you want and click on the cloud button to re download.
If it came from a cd then reimport it.
If it came from another source then they will give you instructions on how to redownload if you can

My TV rentals will not play on my computer, what should I do?

TS1717 music video downloaded but will not play

i just downloaded a music video, but will not play. Comes up as a blank screen. Any ideas ?

Just a word of advice, if you continue trying to implement a solution before you know what the problem is,
you are just creating a worse situation.
Post back with what operating system are you using?
Which Browser and version?
Post back with that info please and advise what the link said.

Downloaded tunes will not play on the mini

Hello can anyone help. I have recently downloaded a couple of albums from iTunes and although they play OK on my PC, on my iPOD they simply skip through the tracks without actually playing the songs.
Havnt had this trouble in the past, any ideas?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
Also check your payment details, make sure your details are exactly how they appear on your credit card statement, you might also try changing some of those details, saving them and changing them back again.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account and restarting your router.
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.
At this point in time, I’m wondering if this could be related to the new feature that allows others to come into your home and use your Apple TV to download and play their content on your Apple TV without logging into their account on your Apple TV. The Terms of Use for iTunes Store content has always been to require you to only purchase and play the content from the store in the location where you live and to use a credit card registered in that location. Previously Apple seem to have been somewhat lenient on enforcing such restrictions, perhaps now they are not. However I don’t really have any evidence to support this suggestion, except that changes made to accounts in these areas do appear to be helping many.

Purchased Movie Rental Will Not Play

I purchased WarGames from Apple, and downloaded the movie in its entirety. When I click on my rented movies to play it, the movie window comes up, but it hangs there black as night.
I have waited over 10 minutes for the movie to start, but nothing comes up. Then I have to force quit itunes.
I have tried to play it on another computer that I have authorized, but it won't let me. It says that the movie is being used elsewhere.
I have downloaded the itunes installer and tried repairing the software, but that doesn't work. I have already "reported a problem" and apparently apple only lets you report a problem once. What a bunch of schmucks. No wonder Walmart is creeping up on them.

Movies cannot be re-downloaded in the same way that music, apps, and TV shows can via iCloud from the iTunes store. Usually you have to jump through a couple of hoops to transfer a rental item from the computer to an iOS device; I'd suggest you just rent it where you actually will be watching it to save yourself some extra steps.

Downloaded song will not play, says computer not authorized. When I re-enter my information it says computer already authorized.

My computer is the authorized computer, and when I go to play a song i just purchased it says computer not authorized. It prompts me to login, I o and it still dont work. I am only having trouble with one song from the album.

I download a movie from Itunes, when I try to play it, I get the message "this movie cannot be played on this computer" what do I need to do or check?

If you've unplugged and restarted and it still does it (likely) there's nothing you can really do but contact itunes store support and ask them to refund or reinstate the download.
