Download RTS 2.1
Hi,
now that RTS 2.2 is out, I can't find a link to download RTS 2.1. Can you please give me a hint or a link!?
Our institute runs a bunch of tests on different systems on RTS 2.1. In the next months these tests shall be executed on SUSE Linux x86. So I'm searching for RTS 2.1 for SUSE Linux x86. After a few months of testing we can't simply change the real-time system, since the results would not be comparable to the ones with RTS 2.1.
Thanks,
Gordon
Gordon,
Normal policy is remove older evaluation versions once a new version becomes available.
Please contact me at David dot Holmes at sun dot com so we can discuss further - assuming you don't mind losing your anonymity :)
Thanks,
David

Installation of the Thread Scheduling Visualizer (TSV)
Hi,
I've already written some realtime applications and now I want to monitor them via TSV. I've downloaded RTS 2.1 with TSV and installed RTS 2.1. I guess TSV isn't installed yet (command "drecord" is not known by solaris). So I think TSV is inside the file "threadsc.gz", isn't it? I've already extracted this file, but still I don't know, how to install TSV.
I've already read the TSV Guide, but there are only very poor informations on the installation of it.
So can anyone explain to me, what the name of the TSV installation file is and how I can install it on Solaris?
Thanks a lot!Hi Gordon:
TSV can be downloaded when you download the Java RTS 2.1 eval on
Solaris; just to be clear, TSV is based on DTrace (a Solaris specific
tool), hence it's not available for Linux. When you go through the Java
RTS 2,1 eval download process for Solaris (either x86 or SPARC version),
you will see the TSV download link listed on the final page (after having
taken the survey and agreeing with the eval license) -- it's the same
page as the one that also lists the Java RTS 2.1 eval download link.
The name of the TSV bundle on that page is "tsv-1.2.tar.gz". All you
need to do to install this is to unpack it.

WRT310N Playstation 3 Slow Download speed and general lag
Hey guys, I just recently bought the WRT310N and got both of my computers working with it. One is wired directly into the router, while the other is running off wireless. My Playstation 3 is able to connect to the router but I am getting an extremely slow connection speed.
Right now, both PC's get about 6.4-6.5 Mbps download speed while my Playstation is anywhere from 600 Kbs to 1.2 Mbps. I have plugged in my Playstation 3 directly into the modem and got a speed of 3.2 Mbps and was downloaded a demo very fast, but I do not recieve anywhere near those results when using it wireless.
Any advice? I have tried opening the ports, but that only seemed to slow it down. A couple of days ago I opened the ports specific to the game NHL 10 and for two days I was getting such a good speed in the game that it felt like I was playing offline, which was great! Then this morning, it just seemed do a complete 180. Now when I play the game I get an extreme amount of lag, and my other games like CoD4 get random lag spikes. Like, I'll be running and I get a lag spike which seems to happen fairly consistently every minute or so.
Any advice? Should I try opening the ports again or what?
Message Edited by Nimer on 10-02-2009 03:58 PMI think you need to adjust the wireless settings of your Router, The wireless settings on your Router must have been setup to its default that's the reason you are receiving low signal strength on your PS3.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
Click on the Wireless tab
- Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
- Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
- Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select TKIP...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key. For example , MySecretKey , This will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and remember the key.
NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...
Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect... -

Hi, I´m heaving some problems with my internet for a while, so I hope that I´ll find some answers here.
I have cable internet service and I think that my router is configured corectly. I can access internet on my laptop and on my desktop computer. I can access my little network between those two also without a problem.
My problem starts when i want to download some bigger files from internet sites like rapidshare, megaupload .....
In fact, I can´t download any bigger file from web except through torrent client.
I´ve arranged port forwarding for P2P and torrent clients and everything work great.
But if I want to download, for example, update file for my Logitech universal remote control from Logitech site, no way.
File is arround 250 MB and every download tryout stops after ~10 MB.
The problem is, every file I try to download from any other site like rapidshare or something, also stops after approximately 10 MB.
I´ve contacted my ISP several times because of this problem and everytime they said that on their side everything is ok, the problem must be in my router configuration because I´m the only one who have complaints like this.
Frankly, I don´t believe in this, but you never know.
So, if anyone have some advice, some settings changes to try or anything else, you´r all welcome.
Thanks
Vlatko
Solved!
Go to Solution.Login into the linksys setup page and reduce the MTU size to 1365 and click on save settings...Under the wireless tab, change the Wireless Channel to 11-2.462GHz and click on save settings...Under Advance Wireless Settings,Change the Beacon Interval to 50,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...Under Security tab, uncheck the option "Block Anonymous Internet Request" and click on save settings...
Now,power cycle the complete network and then, check the connectivity...If the above solution doesn't work then, try to upgrade the router's firmware. You can download the firmware from www.linksys.com/downloads.On the linksys setup page click on Administration tab to upgrade the firmware. -
WRT54GS w/Windows Vista Slow Download
I have a WRT54GS wireless router with 2 dell laptops connected. One laptop runs fine, the other (brand new Dell D420 running Windows Vista Business 32bit) has EXTREMLY slow downloads. I have covered all the bases I can think of:
- replaced Dell Wireless 1490 Dual Band WLAN Mini-Card
- all firmware and drivers updated on laptop, windows vista and router
- made some basic chages recommended on other posts to RTS and Fragmentation Thresholds.
I can download great connected trhough my wired lan port. I also noticed it will not pick up the IP address automatically - though other computers on the same router have no problem
Any ideas?I have the same problem with the software not detecting the hardware. I posted my problem in the link below: http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&message.id=07402Mess age Edited by Vampyr on 0-05-200704:25 PM

RV180W Wireless Downloads very Slow
I have a new RV180W just setup for business and everyhing was going perfect.
No poblems of installing.
All the computers who are connected by lan have no problem. Speed they have is around 17Mb download.
All the laptops who are connected by Wifi are slow. The download speed they have is 1.9Mb download.
No matter what i do or try i can't get the Wifi speed up.
Before this we had an other router and we had speeds by Wifi up to 15Mb.
No we bought a Cisco the best brand there is we think and we have big problems.
Our company must download a lot of big files so speed is very important.
Is it possible that the router can block the speed?
Where must i search is there any one who can help us?
If i do a speedtest from a laptop i get very stange number.
Like 55Mb download and 13Mb Upload, impossible our line is not 55Mb
Then next time i get 9Mb download and 10 Mb upload.
We put already new firmware on it but that doesn't help.Dear Customer,
Thank you for reaching the Small Business Support Community.
I suggest you to try a few things;
Wireless > Basic Settings:
- Wireless Network Mode; B/G/N Mixed or G/N Mixed
- If using WPA Enterprise or WPA2 Enterprise Mixed for security, change it to a local authentication instead of RADIUS server authentication.
- Wireless Channel to auto
Wireless > Advanced Settings
Protection Mode. Select none (the default) to turn off CTS
Request to Send (RTS) Threshold and Fragmentation Threshold, set to default value 2346
Below is a link to a document for wireless networking best practices;

If the problem persists I then suggest you to contact the Small Business Support Center for further assistance;

Please do not hesitate to reach me back if there is any further assistance I may help you with.

WRT610N V2 HELP!!! Wireless resets every time I attempt to download any file.
So I recently upgraded my wireless router w/ the WRT610N V2. Easy setup and everything was working great, atleast w/ my wired connection. I go to set the wireless and everything was running great i was getting great connectivity and then I went to do simple software updates. As soon as I began downloading these udates my wirelss signal dissappeared but i came back shortly after it did. I thought it was a fluke so I went to download th updates again and the same thing happened the wireless signal dropped. Pretty soon I realized that this was happening when ever I attempted to download anything from the net. What shocked me is that my wired connection had no problems, I could update and download. My setup my wireless as a WPA2, and I'm using the 2.4 ghz band b/c the 5 ghz band is crap. If anyone has come accross this issue and has resovled it please help.
P.S. I have comcast cable internet. I know I know but they are the only descent providers in my area. God I'd give anything to have a Fios connection.I think you need to change certain settings on your Router under the wireless part. Login to the Router setup page and click on the wireless tab and change the settings for 2.4GHz wireless network...
- Set the Radio Band to Wide-40MHz and change the Wide channel to 9 and Standard Channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on save settings...
Click on the sub tab "Advanced Wireless Settings"
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304 Change the RTS Threshold to 2307 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect... -

Just a quick question: can we have an official position from Sun regarding support of earlier releases of Solaris with Java RTS 2.1? Our customer is currently running Solaris 10 Update 3 with current Recommended patches, and the 2.1 beta cyclic driver supported this version of Solaris. However with the official release version of 2.1, support for U3 disappeared (only U4 and U5 are now supported). Aside from "rubber stamping" the Solaris build via /etc/release, is there a technical reason why U3 is no longer supported? As long as our kernel is up to date, can we safely use 2.1? Or is it just a case of being unable to officially support and test so many releases of Solaris?
Is this a general rule-of-thumb we can expect in future: only supporting the last 2 updates of Solaris 10?
Your advice is appreciated.

Connection practically freezes when anyone views a video/downloads something
Hi, I have a WRT54g (or gs, I'm not at home so I can't confirm).
I have two computers hooked up to the router, wired connection, wireless is turned off. Whenever anyone looks up a video like youtube, opens a graphics-intensive webpage, or downloads anything, the connection practically freezes.
I can't even get a google webpage to load on my computer if the other computer is buffering a video.
I had an older linksys router that used to run flawlessly for years... but one day it suddenly had this problem... out of the blue. I thought I could fix it by getting a new router but the new router has the same problem.
Everyone I mention this to says that a 3rd party firmware fixes this, but my old router is unsupported by any firmware, and this router is a Version 7, which no 3rd party firmware supports either.
When hooked up directly to the cable modem, this problem does not occur.
Is there any solution to this problem that doesn't involve 3rd party firmware? None of the routers for sale anymore are less than version 7 so relying on non-Linksys firmware help won't help me here. There has to be *something* I can do to stop this paralyzing lag.In you routers set up go to the advanced tab and change your beacon interval to 50 and the RTS and Fragmentation Thresholds to 2304 and see if that makes a difference.
