Download Safari for Lion

Does anyone know how I can download Safari for Lion (it's only available for Snow Leopard). My Safari disappeared and I can't re-download it. Thanks!

Ok..  not as simple as it used to be. I was hoping you could locate it.

  • Where can I download Safari for Lion?

Occasionally Safari beings to crash every time I open it.  In the past I have just downloaded Safari and installed over my currently installed version, however, since the release of Mountain Lion (which I can not install due to having a first gen Mac Pro), I am no longer able to find a version of Safari I can install on Lion.
    Thanks,

Move this to Safari and let the experts there help you clean up and diagnose your setup, trouble with yoru history and cache, how to launch in safe mode, and maintain your system. And what plug-ins or extensions or other modifications can interfere.
Use Pacifist and the 10.7.4 combo update to do an extract install if it is missing.

  • How do I download Safari for Mountain Lion?

How do I download Safari for Mountain Lion? It's not in the App Store, it is nowhere on the Apple website . . . OK, so I guess it is supposed to be part of Mountain Lion, but I am running Mountain Lion and whatever version of Safari I ended up with would not even run at all . . .  so I trashed it (or at least what part of it I was allowed to trash) and though reinstalling it would be a good idea . . . but I can't find one to reinstall. The latest version I can find is for Leopard, and of course that won't run.
Not to mention that since getting Mt Lion, iPhoto won't run . . . it produces an error message saying I need to check with the developer to make sure it runs with this version of OS X! So I wonder who the developer of iPhoto is, who produces software that is incompatible with Mt Lion???
And even in submitting this there is no option to tag it for any OS later than 10.7.4!!

Since Safari is crashing, post a crash report...   reinstalling the OS X rarely helps a browser crash issue.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash  information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.
Please include the "binary images" section...

    Donna...
Even from Apple?  >  Java for OS X Lion Update 1
Restart your Mac before trying to download the file.
Do you have anti virus software installed or a program like LIttle Snitch?
If you are using Safari to download files, go to the Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
If that doesn't help, back to the menu bar, click Safari > Reset Safari. Select the top 5 boxes then click Reset.
If you still can't download the Java file, go to ~ / Library / Caches / com.apple.Safari
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash and restart your Mac. Try downloading that file again.
If it still won't download without that dialog, go to ~/Library/Safari. Move the Downloads.plist file from the Safari folder to the Trash.
    Try again.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
For Lion:   To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

  • How to download Safari for 10.4.8

I am wondering how it is possible to download Safari for my iBook (10.4.8) as I trashed it a while a go by accident and now want it back! Is it on any of the CDs that cme with my iBook originally?
Also are there any other decent internet applications, other than: Safari, Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi freddiebroders!
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
First of all yes Safari is on your restore cd's. It's part of the operating system.
Second your options are pretty much what you mentioned but I would not include IE in that group because it's outdated and unsupported. You could possibly add Netscape in there instead as some people use that. (It's worth noting there are a few people who do choose to keep IE because it's accesses a site or two that other browsers can't.)
Now with those browsers mentioned there are other browsers that are built from the same "engine" but offer other user features. Here's a few more if you want to keep on testing...
Shiira, OmniWeb - same engine as Safari
Camino, BonEcho - same engine as Firefox
There are a few more for sure...I haven't tested them all. A good general rule is keep your Safari and keep a Gecko browser on hand too (Firefox, Camino, or others with same engine) as that will get you the best compatibility. If there is a site out there that is designed 100% for IE on windows there's not much you can do. Even the old IE on Mac is not likely to work. But most everything on Mac works with Safari or Firefox. I personally use Camino which is basically Firefox for Mac.
    Hope that helps?

  • How do I re-install Safari for Lion?

I downloaded a Safari update when c/net techtracker, which I subscribe to, told me it was out-of-date.
When it downloaded it I realised it was for Mountain Lion and I'm running Lion.
Now I don't have Safari at all. How do I get it back?
I've been in to the App Store and can't find a Safari download for Lion.
I hope someone can help me urgently.

Depends on what Mac you have:
You can check here what version of Flash player you actually have installed:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, try the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the version 11.5.502.55:)
Download this http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

My Safari browser is not working well. Junk pages keep popping up and key pages, for me, appear intoxicated by alien pop ups preventing me navigate that page.
I updated to latest Safari version (7.0.4) but the problem persists.
I tried downloading a new version of Safari for Mac OS X Mavericks but couldn't find it available.
    Thanks for your help.

The pop ups are malware. It's not necessary to reinstall Safari.

  • Downloading iphoto for lion 10.7.5

trying to download iPhoto for my iMac.  Operation system is OS X Lion 10.7.5.  Is it possible to get iPhoto on my computer?

The currently sold version iPhoto 9.6 requires Yosemite. But you could buy an iLIfe '11 installer DVD at Amazon. That will include iPhoto '11. You can update that version using the updaters at Apple's support page.

  • HT5275 how to reinstall safari for lion?

I have deleted safari from lion and wish to reinstall.
Please advise how can i go about reinstalling safari?

    SINdustries wrote:
An alternative is to install ana application called pacifist which has a free trial
It can allow you to install small portions of the os
To use Pacifist, the OP will need to download the OSX, anyway, to access the .dmg installer. If that is the case, then the safest and most reliable course of action is to just reinstall the entire system, considering the complexity of Safari and it's integration with so many other parts of the OSX.

I have been unable to run the App. Tutor for Lion after purchasing form App store.  I have the .iap file om y computer under I Tunes, but when I click on purchases my purchase has not been registered. In addition I am unable to verify my Apple ID and Email as I receive a message telling me the name has been used on another computer.  I use only one compuetr and the system is up to date with the 7.3 upgrade.
At one time I tried Cloud but decided against using it and deleted the programme from my System preferences, Could there be data left behind after the deletion
Any assitance to help me clear up my mess would be gratefully appreciated

Are you trying to run it on your Mac? Any app downloaded from iTunes will only run on an iOS device such as an iPad or iPhone. If you need to run an app on your Mac, you need to go to the App Store in your Applications folder and purchase the app from there.
If you did purchase the wrong app, go to the our website and let me know (I am the developer of Tutor for Lion). http://www.noteboomproductions.com/contact-us/feedback/

  • Trouble downloading Safari for Windows

Hi, I did move out from US, to Latin America. Since that, I had been trouble trying to download the Safari English version; but neither Apple support page nor CNET, Softonic, etc., files servers web sites, allow me to get the right version requested, instead I got always the Spanish version. Does somebody knows how to solve this matter?
    Thanks

Doublechecking ... are you sure you want to install Safari for Windows? Apple stopped development on that quite a while ago. If you want to use a webkit-based browser, it might be safer to use Chrome, from a security standpoint.

  • Re-download safari for 10.6

I need to re-download safari 4 for snow leopard, I tried to download from apple under the downloads catagory but it is not the 64x version and will not run on 10.6, does anyone know where I can download it again, also I don't have my CD with me I'm on vacation.
    Thanks,
    Stefan

Well, it's just like I said; you need your Mac OS X install disc to reinstall Safari 4 on Snow Leopard. Failing that, you can try this:
    1. If you have another browser such as Firefox or Camino, download Pacifist.
    2. Go to /Library/Receipts and delete the Safari403Upd.pkg file.
    3. Launch Pacifist and open the Safari 4.0.3.dmg file you downloaded.
    4. Select the top-level package icon in the list and click the Install button in Pacifist to install it.
When prompted that files already exist and whether to Update or Replace them, choose Replace, and check the box to apply it to all files.
    5. Quit Pacifist when done.
    6. Restart your Mac, Repair Disk Permissions and test it out.
