I purchased and downloaded your $200 program Acrobat Pro XI. I'm trying to use it now and a screen pops up and states "Serial number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on your computer." Every other type of acrobat is listed except Acrobat Pro XI and the serial number will not work for any of them. So what do I do? I notice no numbers to call anyone. If this does not work TODAY, I want my money back.

The message you say you are getting indicates that you purchased an upgrade version of the software, which requires that you already own an ealrier version that qualifies for the upgrade purchase. The list you are mentioning is listing the vallid previous versions for which the upgrade can be applied. You need to select the earlier version and enter the serial number it has.

Thanks for the pointers folks. Yeah, 1.5GB is pretty poor isn't it? There are other suppliers, but you have to get a their phone line installed to access the internet so it's an £85 setup fee plus a day off work for a guy to come round and drill a hole in your wall before you even get to the monthly costs.
Don't get me wrong though - I'm certainly not an Apple basher, but am equally frustrated with both them and the ISP.
Virgin Media spend all kinds of money advertising their broadband as the fastest in the UK, but don't tell you (up front anyway) that you'll be cut off if you actually try and use it.
Apple on the other hand carry on with their 'it just works' mantra, but with Apple TV this only applies if you meet certain criteria (again, not mentioned up front).
I guess it aint a biggie, as i was gifted my Apple TV, and love all the other stuff it does, but from the number of posts on this forum can see that there's a lot of angry customers out there who want explanations as to why they're having similar problems to me.
Will be very interesting to see if Apple release any kind of software update that turns the flash drive from a buffer to permanent storage, to at least ease some of the pain...

Why cannot I open a downloaded set of images?

I cannot open a downloaded set of images at once using preview. OSX prompts "... is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?" for the first image in the list that I haven't yet accepted to open, and stops there. When I quit preview and select the set of images and open them, the next image in the list asks for permission. This is a headache and I cannot keep doing this whole day, there are 100s of images in the list. What can I do?

Only 0.05 minutes download on each song with the exception of the original song purchase: I Am Beautiful. What needs to be done to solve this problem?

It seems that I have solved my issue by performing a full factory reset (erasing all content, something which I had hoped to avoid) restoring from an iCloud backup did not alleviate the issue, I had to set up as a new iPad.
Hopefully anyone else else who has this issue in the future will be able to find this.

In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".
To find your OS information, on your Windows desktop, right-click the My Computer icon, choose Properties, under System on that small window is info about your OS.

I want to set a different folder from the My Documents/Downloads folder for Firefox to put everything I download, like I used to have it. Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

Did you actually restore the iPad? Or just restore settings?

Oracle to Mysql character set conversion problem!!! PLZ IGNORE

Hi Experts,
I have created a database link from Oracle 10g to Mysql 5.
I have installed Oracle Gateway 11g for this purpose.
When i retreive the data from sql plus the text is displayed as question marks.
Oracle 10g Database character set is WE8MSWIN1252
Mysql character set --->latin1
Character set of ODBC connector for mysql is latin7
Character set in the parameter file of HS folder is WE8MSWIN1252When i retrieve data from sql developer the text is fine(as i think it directly takes the character set of target) but
when i login from sqlplus i get question marks!

Regarding the problem itself, make sure that SQL*Plus has the right NLS_LANG setting in the environment. On Windows, in the Command Prompt:
C:\> set NLS_LANG=.WE8PC850
C:\> sqlplus ...On Unix:
$ setenv NLS_LANG .WE8ISO8859P1 (or NLS_LANG=.WE8ISO8859P1; export NLS_LANG)
$ sqlplus ...-- Sergiusz

Maybe your firewall or security software are preventing the download from finishing. You could try disabling them until you finish the download

An odd set of problems - full re-install fail

Hello helpful computer people
I have a funny set of problems which has culminated in me wanting to fully reinstall operating software. I will explain why I want to do this in a minute, but the main problem is that I can't manage to do it! When I boot up my mac from the startup disk I get a messed up display. The information is obviously all there on the screen, but it's displayed in weird jagged lines. This means that I can't make out where to click to continue with the installation. I also though that the disk drive was being particularly clunky sounding, but could be imagining that.

The problems up to this point have been really odd, with applications one by one stopping responding and finder crashing. Also the computer will sometimes not go to sleep when closed and the fan will go a bit mad. I have had particular problems with browsers crashing and generally the computer grinding to a halt with nothing but the off button having any effect.
I have tried loads of stff - reseting P ram, repairing disks, running cleanups on Onyx, removing programmes etc.
I want to go back to square one because things are getting a bit messy, it won't let me reinstall Safari becuase it thinks it's already there, but It doesn't show up on search!
I tried reinstalling Snow Leopard but realised that didn't really do much and am now going down the route of putting the original install disk in. I bought there computer second hand btw, so there is a possibility that the install disks are wrong, although unlikely because the guy was trustworthy.

Just want to clear up the fact that the original problems encountered were not display related and it only happens when I try to do that one specific task. The computer is working ok now and I am writing this message from it.

Open current iTunes on your computer. Connect iPhone to the computer with the Lightning USB Cable. Hold both the Home and Power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes the iPhone in Recovery Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. If that doesn't work you can use Migration Assistant - of course that will move all the application to the new computer.
