My internet is really slow atm, should be getting 15, only getting 2.

  • Importing Audio CD to library, downloads slow and CPU goes to 100%,

Importing Audio books CDs to library, downloads slow and CPU goes to 100%, last two tracks take an extreme long time to load, audio is spotty on those two tracks. Any ideas as to why or how to correct

I think your problem might be in the settings. Your audiobooks might be trying to download like music CDs, and doing error checking and playing while it downloads.
Here's a link to some really helpful information about how iTunes treats audiobook CDs and how to do it better. It helped me out a lot.

  • Apple iTunes download slow

I have 2 Apple tv boxes each connected to separate tv's by a hdmi cable , the boxes are connected to the computer by wifi , the computer is connected to a Time Machine which is then connected to a modem. Box #1 is upstairs and is about 14 feet away from the computer and has quick download speeds ( I can watch a movie within minutes).  Box #2 is downstairs and is almost underneath the computer ( by about 5ft) , the download speed for this box is very slow ( about 22 hours on average) , it does show a very good signal strength. Is there any reason why this is happening

What you describe is a network issue.  Troubleshoot the network.

  • Wireless downloads slower with BT Infinity

I recently upgraded from BT Broadband (ADSL2+ with BT Home Hub 1.0) to BT Infinity. I installed and switched over to the new BT Home Hub 3 before the BT Openreach engineer came, as I was worried about how wireless networking would work as the Hub had to be in a different location from the previous one.
I then ran some Broadband performance tests http://speedtester.bt.com/ to see how well the new arrangements worked. The upload speeds from my main PC (with a wireless N adapter) were in the previous range of 700 – 800 Kbps. The download speeds on average seemed a little slower than before at the 5 – 7 Mbps range, although I did achieve a new peak of 11 Mbps in the late evening.
After the switchover to BT Infinity, I ran the tests again. The upload speeds were very consistent and in the 7 – 8 Mbps range. The download speeds were in the 3 – 7 Mbps range, with most towards the lower end of this range.
I also ran a test late in the evening using a Netbook with an Ethernet connection to the Hub. This slightly exceeded the expected speeds for the BT Infinity service, with over 8 Mbps for uploads and over 35 Mbps for downloads.  On the old Hub with the Netbook and Ethernet connection I had got 670 Kbps for the upload speed and over 12 Mbps for the downloads.
Does anybody know why the wireless download speeds reduced after the switchover to BT Infinity? Is it a settings issue, a software bug, some other fault, or a feature of Home Hub 3 and BT Infinity? It does seem very strange that the upload speed over a wireless connection is faster than the download speed, as well as being much more consistent.

Dont know about that, but I have had my Infinity for a year now, and  the guy who set it up said, that if I go wireless, then my speed will drop.

  • Peculiar Download Slowness in OS 10.4.6

Download speeds, as measured by the speed tests at speakeasy.net and testmy.net, are consistently and reproducibly 300-500 Kbps slower with my Mac Mini 1.5 GHz(PPC) running OS 10.4.6, than in my 900MHz iBook running OS 10.2.8 and also my Dell PC running Windows XP. All three computers are in the same room, using the same 802.11b wireless connection to a cable modem via a LinkSys router.
I even tried the speed tests using the same Mini running under Classic (OS 9.2.2) and was surprised to find fast download speeds essentially identical to those with Jaguar and the PC.
I have turned off IPv6, manually entered DNS servers in TCP/IP, tweaked settings with RMAC and Cocktail, but none of it has made a lasting difference. I'm puzzled.
I posted these same observations a couple of weeks ago, but the post was greeted with stifled yawns and no-one responded.

Mac Mini 1.5 GHz; iBook 900 mHz; iPod 20 GB   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I have been having the same problem, particularly running bittorrent clients. However, because of the variety of factors that can affect the speeds achievable through this protocol, it took me a while to identify the issue. I've tried manipulationing seetings within the sotware and the system, I've made sure that the right ports are leading to the right places through my firewalls (and, actually, I briefly tried dropping all my security completely for a quick test, but that made no difference either).
I've tried changing between Airport and a wired ethernet connection - no diffference either way.
For some reason the download speeds I can get seem to be capped at about 10% of speeds achieved regularly in comparable ways. I've pretty much ruled everything out now except whatever it might be that has changed with 10.4.6.
Any suggestions (however wild) would be welcomed.
    Thanks
    Andrew

  • Download slow for Mavericks

My Mac mini is downloading Mavericks but it really slow.  Is it because of the DSL line?   It is going to take hours.

Is your Internet connection very slow? How long does it take to reach 1.6 MB?
    Try the steps here:
Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads
    Open the Mac App Store.
From the Store menu, choose Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
Click Purchases to get to your Purchases Page.
Click the Resume button next to the app name.

  • Video downloads slowed to a crawl..

23hours to download Sherlock 2 to my desktop?
    Only iTunes does this!
22 minutes on my laptop but, 5 minutes on the iPad.
This is with a 25 Mbps FiOS connection, only the iPad is in the correct range.
I speed tested the desktop, it's fine unless it's iTunes.
    What is going on here?!!?!?

I experience the same, the Navigon update was extremely slow - it was hours and worse, simply viewing large music/video libraries is also so slow, it's not usable. This is obviously a major problem with iTunes 9 and I would hope Apple quickly releases a patch - in the meantime, iTune 9 has rendered my iphone and itouch - useless - I won't resync or use ITunes until I patch is released. I should have waited until 9.1 - I will say having the ability to manage iphone icons from Itunes is great. But the rest stinks.

  • Download slow, download slow

My downloading is extremely slow. I have reset Safari and emptied the cache. Any other ideas?

    Hi Ali_##,
The download of the apps depends on the internet speed. However you may try the direct link to download CC apps: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html .
Kindly follow the very important instruction before download.

  • Another Lion is downloading slow thread

I searched the interwebs and failed to find any solution.  I'm trying to download Lion and it is trickling at a snail pace (3kb max).  We have a 50/15 pipe here at work and everything else just works awesome.  I have read many "the servers are just busy" messages but that was months ago.   I checked our firewall .. opened it up and I'm just stumped why it is so slow.  My downloader says it will be done in 34days.
Seriously?  Why offer something as download only and then make people download it for over a month.  Cupertino is not even that far away.
I have tried to pause and restart the downloader to try for a better spot but it fails to change anything.
I know one solution is "go to the store and buy a usb stick version" well I already bought the download version assuming everything would work. (It just works!)
Anyone run into this problem as of late?
Anyone know of any tricks to make this App store work as intended?
    Thanks,
    Todd

  • Ipad Air downloading slow

I replaced my Ipad 1 for the new Ipad Air.  It is really slow when I download movies or magazines.  Is there a solution?

I have a new ipad air 128gb att, and im having trouble download magazines (popular photography) as well. every time it gets half way it stops and i have to restart download but it never finishes. I upgraded from the 1st generation ipad and didnt have this problem before.  Restarted and reset  network, ipad, etc and still no deal. Will be calling apple soon. I understand its a new ipad model so hopefully apple will come out with an update to resolve this issue.

  • Brand New Ipad Air is downloading slow, and apps are not finishing

I just bought this and am regretting my $600 investment.  I've spent over 4 hours trying to figure this thing out.  Safari is the slowest browser I have ever used.  Apps do not complete downloading/ installing.  I have reset my wireless, and my high speed internet wirks better with all my older pc's.  This is brand new and I don't want to go back to the apple store, or talk to support and be insulted when they tell me it's my wireless.

I'm having the same problem actually.  I'm thinking it's an issue with the store, not the device.  Even loading up iBooks on my mac has been a bit slow tonight.
Maybe it's just overloaded at the moment?

  • ITunes Download SLOW!

My iTunes has the slowest downloads, I'm on a T1 line and movies still take longer to download than they do to watch???

I am also having the same problem. All downloads from itunes (either rentals to stream on Appletv 2 or downloads made to the computer) are incredibly slow.
I have been having this problem for about 2 weeks

  • Downloading slow

downloads videos from internet very slow..will not play long videos from the internet longer then 30min long.. says timer timed out

    Thanks for your response
Downloadspeed in IE 95 Mb download in Firefox used to be 96 but down now to 40 Mb. Reason (update?) Don’t know. Uploadspeed in IE as well as FF 10 Mb
Disabling firewall as well as AV has no effect. Speedtest in Windows Safe mode with network does have effect. Download speed in Windows Safe Mode IE9 95 Mb and in Firefox 13 increases from 40 to 80 Mb
I am out of options. What can i do to get a normal downloadspeed back next to deleting Firefox 13? I really would regret that.

  • Why is downloading slow from iTunes

I Am away on holiday and I am downloading rentals from iTunes but they are slow. Is there anyway this can be made quicker?

    Hi there
Many users seem to be experiencing this issue around the world (see thread  https://discussions.apple.com/message/16981332#16981332) - my iTunes dowload last night showed 7 hours ETA for a 45 minute tv show.  this morning I rebooted it and tried again, it is now taking 2 hours.  An improvement in theory but still terrible.  I don't know if it is internet connection but everything else I do on the internet seems to be running at normal pace.....
Not much help sorry but at least you can see you are not alone
    Cheers

  • Is your K model desktop internet or download slow? possible solution? RTL8188E adapter driver info

I figured I'd make this post because it may help someone else.
I just spent wayyyy to much time trying to get my computer to download anywhere near what it should. I would start at like 1Mbs and then fizzle out to like .5-.4 Mbs. Enough about me, let me tell you what I did to solve this.
I should first say: I have a Realtek RTL8188E Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC network adapter on here. I was told to update the driver to fix the problem.
I tried the link that was given on a Lenovo forum for the driver but that didn't help at all, 2 other people in that post also said it did not work. So I did some searching and found this site:
    http://www.driverscape.com/download/realtek-rtl8188e-wireless-lan-802.11n-pci-e-nic
(I am in no way affiliated with this site, it just happened to work for me)
When I downloaded the driver from here, I used it to update my network adapter.
For those who need a bit of a walk through,
Copy the location of the driver files after you download it and then,
Go to Control Panel, pull up the device manager (just search for "device" and you'll see it.) Open Network Adapter field, right click the RTL8188E... icon, select properties, under Driver tab you'll see update driver. Chose Browse my computer for driver software, this is where the copied address of the driver comes in handy, paste it in and choose next.
Now, my device shows the name: "1x1 11b/g/n Wireless LAN PCI Express Half Mini Card Adapter"
Good thing? Bad thing? No clue. Maybe someone who knows more than me will come on here and explain that but here is the practical info, my downloads are way faster and not fizzling out.
Speedtest.net (which i recomend if you want to see how your internet connection is performing) now has my DL clocked at 40.8 Mbs and Up at 28.8Mbs.
Again, I am not a computer expert, especially not in this particular situation. I just know I am happy with the results. I hope this saves someone the crazy amount of time and energy I put in to figuring this out.
    Good luck!
p.s. feel free to reply if this works for you as well, or if you have some kind of thoughts on this, I'll try to check back.

    My five cents.....
....bought a Thinkpad 545 a couple of weeks ago. Download speed was very slow but at that time I suspected it was Comcast's fault. After I had 3 PC's sitting on my desk (wife/daughter) the only one running at speeds UNDER 1, was my Lenovo.
Called the Lenovo Serice several times but they kept telling me that it was NOT the Thinkpad that was slow but my Internet connection....hello.....2 PC's running good at speeds of 18 - 19.....only the Lenovo is slow.....
Finally they connected me with the "special service department" {or something like that).
First of all: I could NOT understand the guy ...was from India or something. After a while I understood that he wanted money from me to look at the problem....A brand new computer.....pay money to make it run????? Very bad Serive!! He got very rude with me, too.
Then I tried Damerflinns suggestion. It worked like a charm. Thank you very much!!!!!
Just wanted to say THANK YOU!
