Iam working in 4.6c. How can i download smartform?

Go through the following
1.Go to transaction SMARTFORMS.
2.Enter the smartforms name.
3.Go to menu smartforms - > copy(Ctrl + F5).
4.Enter Form name which you want to copy in source object
and your 'Y' formname in target object.Press enter your SAP
created form will be copied to your 'Y' forname.
1. copying is simple.
2. But at the same time, some configuration
is required by the functional consultant
so that this Y smartform opens,
(instead of the original smartform)
, when we want to view invoice thru
VF02, VF03 tcode.
3. Copying
a) use tcode smartforms
b) enter the original smartform name
c) press COPY button application toolbar
or CTRL + F5
1. One is for Invoice (SD Module)
2. LB_BIL_INVOICE.
You will create a YLB_BIL_INVOICE form.The print program for this
form is RLB_INVOICE.If you have any change in layout other than
the current YLB_BIL_INVOICE.Make the changes in this form.
1.Go to Nace transaction.
2.Select V3 Billing.Press output type (F5).
3.Select the ouptut type RD00.Press processing routine.
4.Press change(ctrl + F1) and enter print program and your
y program in the processing routines.Save it.Now execute your application.

Sorry if this posted in the wrong place.
My customer is using Smartforms with SAP R/3 4.6d and 4.7. I need to get a sample of SmartForms from them. I am not sure if that version of SAP allows users to download/upload SmartForms in XML format. If not, what format it will be downloaded?
I know Netweaver 2004 is able to download SmartForms in XML but I am not if SAP R/3 4.6d and 4.7 is able to do so...Can someone please advice me?

In 46C you can only download them (I guess it's the same for 46D), in 4.70 / 6.20 you can download and upload them via the Utilities menu.

NORMALLY WE DOWNLOAD SMARTFORM IN PDF FORMAT BUT I HAVE REQUIREMENT TO DOWNLOAD IN TEXT FORMAT.

when you generate the spool you can down load that in txt format
Function is used RSPO_DOWNLOAD_SPOOLJOB when you want to do that programatically.
Using the spool number, and provide the path where you want to down load that time mention the name
C:\smart.txt
it will be downloaded .

Downloading Smartforms Output into MS Word format

Hi,
Is there any way to download Smartform Output data in to MS Word.?...like the way we download Smartform data into PDF format.
is there any FM available to handle this like CONVERT_OTF, CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF in case of PDF.

Downloading smartform as pdf (protecting)

Hi,
I have downloaded smartform contents into a pdf file.
Is there any way to protect the document like setting a password for the document.
That is,i have downloaded that pdf.while opening it must want to ask a password before opening.Is it possible via SAP.
Anybody plz help me

Downloading Smartform in PDF

While downloading smartform into PDF the character formatting such as "BOLD, UNERLINE,ITALIC" are not reflecting in the PDF document.
The following function modules are used for downloading:
1)'CONVERT_OTF'
2)'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
The printer used is 'LOCL' (Local Windows Printer).

Hi Murali!
In 4.6C is no direct download option. I heard of two work-arounds: creation of a transport request and a custom program (which might have errors).

Use Transaction "Smartforms" -->Enter Smartform Name
-> Utilities> Download form
This will down load smartform in XML format.
Use the Utilities--> Upload for upload the form .
Please sure the upload file is in XML format.

Not that I know of. There is a lot of data in the OTF file besides the field values you are printing (formats, headers. positions, fonts, etc).
You might be able to use the CONVERT_OTF function module and take the default format of 'ASCII'. Once it is converted to an ASCII data format, you might be able to write some ABAP code to strip off the extraneous data and parse the fields you need.

Hi,
No you cant save a smart form into text file but you can store it in a XML file.
Goto menu Utilities --> select More Utilities --> select Upload/Download --> click Download and give the path to save the backup for smartform.
Now you smartform is saved to XML file at your PC.
Also you can upload this smartform.
