Your phone is only developer unlocked if you have paid to have it unlocked. Even when it is unlocked it can still only run apps that are designed to work on that phone and software.

Install downloaded software other than on C: drive

I purchased this morning and downloaded the latest 64 bit version of Elements and Premiere to my E: drive (C: drive has Windows Ultimate 7 64 bit only).
I have six files downloaded - one Application file and 7zArchive file set each for Photoshop Elements, Premier Elements and Premiere Elements Content.
When I ran the Application file for PSE it installed OK - mostly on the E: drive where I directed the install browser - but also put a large number of files on my C: drive under a Program Data directory.
When I run the Premiere Elements Application file it will not install and produces an error message along the lines of 'insufficient space or admin rights'.
I am guessing that as there is now only 3GB free on the C: drive this is why I am getting the failed install (I have the admin rights).
So how can I install the whole - or majority of files - on the E: drive where there is 83GB free?
Any help greatly appreciated.

That was what I feared.
Might have been helpful for Adobe to publish exactly what space - and where is required - in a pre-download checklist.
I can't think of any other software we have - other than the operating system - which HAS to be on the C: drive.

Yes, you can. But Windows Media Player cannot be used.
Some of the programs you can use are:
(1) Winamp (with iPod plugin)
(2) Xplay
(3) Anapod
Note that these are 3rd party programs which are not supported by Apple. If you elect to use them, you will have to ask the software developers for support.
By the way, why do you want to use another software rather than iTunes?

If you have a valid product serial number, you can download older Creative Suite products below. If you don't have a serial number, it won't help you.

Media Portal is an all in one application that will play DVDs, TV, music etc. And its free
there are other alternatives too, like DScaler and Showshifter

Im new to apple and its softwares, tricks..etc.
So the question is i purchased some stuff from itunes i would like to have in phone and i also have loads of music in my pc that were taken from old cds etc...after my research i noticed there is a itune match or someting that can allow you do that with a 25$/year cost which i agree is not much and i might end up doing it but i don't find it right to NOT HAVE FULL control over my stuff...so is there anyway to be able to transfer these old songs into iphone without using itunes without any risk or problem?

Looking for a personal finance software other than Quicken

I live in Canada and when I first bought a Mac here in CanadaI I purchased Quicken for Mac in the USA. since it's not available here. Unfortunately, I find that when downloading account balances, the results are often totally ridicules and seldom correct. At times it works, most often it doesn't. Is there some other Software available which will do simple banking i.e downloading balances and keepping track of in and outgoing expenditures. I still use my Dell LT in the Windows world and have absolutely no problem with Quicken for windows.

Hardware testing software other than AHT?

I'm running a 2.7 G5 with 10.4.11 (sometime I boot up in 10.3) and my disk doesn't want to let me run the Apple Hardware TEsts. I just can't find it on the disk (I've followed all the advice in these discussions).
Can anyone suggest something I could download to test my hardware. I keep crashing when i open the Screen Saver preference panel. Also, It often fails to restart after I shut down unless I let it sit for 15 minutes *with the power off at the wall*
I have recently carried out clean installs and I'm currently trying out a brand new hard drive with un-upgraded 10.3 with no plists copied over and only one additional application (Firefox). Completely stripped out. I've been through all the easily checkable hardware issued (HD, RAM, Video Card, peripherals, Superdrive). All that is left is an inherent hardware/software incompatibility or a faulty logic board/processor.

Free Image Editing software other than AW??

I've got an Intel MacMini and AppleWorks is simply not working well at all. I can't transform images in paint. I tried the "clicking off" trick from the document in the knowledge base -- that gets the boxes up but I still cant resize.
From reading this forum it seems there are no fixes for this problem.
Was hoping someone could suggest some free software I could download to edit images. Something like Photoshop, but maybe with a few less bells.

Take a look in Made4Mac. Click the Apple tab above, then the Made4Mac link in the row below the tabs.
In the Software list, click Design & Print.
Select the Image editing radio button, and set the License type to Freeware.
You'll get a list of half a dozen or more, most of them Universal binary.
This one looks promising:
GIMPShop is a free Open Source image editor that is similar to the popular Adobe Photoshop. Specifically GIMPShop is a version of the GIMP that has been edited to be more user-friendly for Photoshop users.

Is there a way to burn cd's using software other than itunes

since itunes 8 made it so i can no longer burn cds, is there a way to burn cds in from the itunes library using some other cd burning software?

I ran the diagnostics and this is what came up at the end. hopefully you can help me because I really want to back up music that I have bought because I have already lost music and it was my fault cause i didn't back anything up, and because itunes has been messing up a lot i want to make sure i don't lose any more money.

If you already have the correct size inserts, and want to be creative, you can easily make your own case template using Pages(part of iWork). I like that because Pages can access photos from iPhoto. I don't have the inserts so I print my case covers to the size needed and cut the paper to fit.

Impossible to buy software other than cloud?

Just out of interest, I looked at the options to BUY any Adobe individual software progs (I don't need to - it's just for interest) and there are NO options to buy the software anymore ONLY cloud versions on Adobe's site.
Does this mean that CS7 - when released - will ONLY be cloud? (Something I have no interest in - I'd rather own it.)
Or, am I looking in the wrong place?

Database software other than Apple works

When I got my first Apple (a G5 which died after I installed Leopard) I worked through apple works to get aquainted with my Mac, but then used iWork + Adressbook as my database. By now I have over 2000 "people or organisations that hire musicians" (I'm a musician) in Adressbook, but for a new project need something else.
This is what I want to do: I need to expand the "people or..." database, but want to start a seperate database about audiences with many ways to differentiate, organise, search and find by different criteria (like education, income, etc.).
I am looking for something more sofisticated than Adressbook, but easier to use that apple works.

In trying to move from AppleWorks, I've moved all of my databases to Numbers. For me, it works. I don't have the same needs in a database as I used to have.
Database programs are just not very common it seems. FileMaker Pro looks similar to AppleWorks, mostly because they were both originally Claris programs. The similarity really ends at the look. FileMaker is too expensive & too complex for your average AppleWorks database user.
If I were to need a "real" database in the future, I'd get iList Data. It was recommended by someone in this forum awhile back.
Bento is marketed by FileMaker as an answer for the common user. I don't think so (as do a number of other "old-time AppleWorks users" here). Still, all of these programs have free trials & you can decide for yourself what works best for you.

What software other than outlook can I use with iphone 5c for contacts, email and calendar?

What software will work with iPhone 5c where I can manage all contacts, emails and calendar and sync with my business desktop computer? From what I have seen from co-workers Microsoft outlook and iPhone doesn't work well together.

But the problem is, that it Did used to do this. It synced for a year and a half and now only in the past four months has it not synced...
Any thoughts?
