Download specific output fields to excel

Hi All,
We have a report program that downloads an excel file having about 60 output fields. The program has no ALV output.
Everytime we do not require these 60 fields to be shown in output excel. we need specific output fields in excel and those specific fields could be dynamic.
Is there any way to download specific output fields in excel as we do in ALV variant.
In alv,  we can achieve this through a layout variant in selection screen and download the alv output in excel. But we dont require alv to download excel from there.
Thanks,
Srilakshmi.

Hi
Something like this:
DATA: BEGIN OF t_layout OCCURS 0,
        mark      TYPE c,
        fieldname LIKE dd03l-fieldname,
      END  OF t_layout.
TYPE-POOLS slis.
DATA: gt_fieldcat TYPE  slis_t_fieldcat_alv WITH HEADER LINE.
DATA: lt_report TYPE sy-repid.
DO 60 TIMES.
  t_layout-fieldname = 'Field'.
  MOVE sy-index TO t_layout-fieldname+6.
  APPEND t_layout.
ENDDO.
lt_report = sy-repid.

  • Download specific record/columns to Excel

    Is there anyway to download only specific columns or records from a HTMLDB form/report to Excel. The user would need to indicate which records/columns to download.

    Hi Bob,
    to restrict records, just implement a search for the report, to restrict columns just implement checkboxes to view / hide columns of the report by the end user. To do so:
    1. Create Ceckbox e. g. P1_COLUMNS with LOV: STATIC2:Field 1;FIELD1,Field 2;FIELD22. In the Attributes of the Field 1 in Conditional Display, Condition Type: PL/SQL Expression, Expression 1:
    instr(:P1_COLUMNS, 'FIELD1') > 03. Do Step 2. for all other Columns of the report
    4. Optional a Check all / Uncheck All Button which invokes Processes:
    Process Check All, PL/SQL anonymous block:
    :P1_COLUMNS := 'FIELD1:FIELD2:';Process Uncheck All, PL/SQL anonymous block:
    :P1_COLUMNS := '';Regards, Juergen

    Multi-colored output of ALV in EXCEL
    There would be many situations where we need to highlight some of the records in bold or different color depending on some value. In this document, we showcase how this can be achieved. Look at the screenshot of an excel sheet with different colors and bold in some cells.

  • Query: link a specific output field to a transaction

    Dear All,
    I create a infoset and a query (join MARA - MARC - MARD) for manage a report/list with some data:
    -  Material code & descript.
    -  Builder
    -  Bin (only MM not WM storage bin)
    -  MAterial group
    - etc...
    When I run the query and the system shows the list I would like to allow a double click in the material code in order to link/jump to the MM03/MM02.
    I know that is possible and the past I found the solution but unfortunately I have lost the file with all informations.
    Thank you in advance!!!
    Best Regards.
    Gavino

    Gavino,
    Open your query in change SQ01.
    Goto > Report Assignment.
    You will probably have a blank popup.  Insert row (F8 or hit green plus)
    You will get a popup with 3 blank fields.  I assume you wish to 'jump' to a transaction.  So, hit the 'Other report type' button.
    Select 'TR' transaction.  Enter the Transaction code.  Green Check.
    Save.
    Save.
    This won't work on all transactions, where the data item is carried from the query output to the transaction, although the jump will still happen.

  • Getting ERROR when downloading alv output to Excel

    Hello All,
    I get a error message when I try to use the standard funtionality to download the alv output to excel.
    The current statement only supports character-type data objects.
    What happened?
    The current ABAP/4 program "SAPLKKBL " had to be terminated because
    one of the statements could not be executed.
    This is probably due to an error in the ABAP/4 program.
    Error analysis
    In statement
       "STRLEN( obj )..."
    the argument "obj" can only take a character-type data object.
    Source code extract
    038620   *   ansonsten entspricht sich min. Ausgabelänge und Ausprägungslänge

         >           gs_out-hlplen = strlen(  ).
    038660         endif.
    038670       endif.
    In this case, the operand "obj" has the non-character type "I".
    Please can anyone put some light on this. It is veru difficult to go through the whole std functionality to download.
    Thanks for all support guys!
    Sri.

    Hi srikanth,
    This error comes because the values present in any one of the displayed coloums containing special character like * present before or after the number....  i.e  instead of 4 ...**4.
    While displaying in the screen it is of no problem. since both *4 are converted into char format (internally) and gets displayed.
    But while you download the same throu the EXCEL functionality SAP will intenally convert the same into NUMERIC format. Since 4 is number.
    So in that case *4 will cause dump.
    *So find out the place in which the value appearing like this *4 and try to correct it.
    *Surely it is of Field LENGTH problem. Try to increase the length of the field 4.
    It Should WORK.!!!..  else post ur query here.

  • Issue with Varchar2 field conversion for report output generated in EXCEL

    Hello All,
    I have an unique problem with one of my new reports for the User. The user wants the report output generated in excel data only(delimited data) format *(reports builder 10g)* .
    Everything was fine until i encountered this problem, there was this field which has unique ID's(alphanumeric and numeric), when i tried to run the report and generate output in Excel the numeric ID's say for example *(41593497999679354429)* is converted in excel and displayed like *(2.5881E+19)* and after format cells in excel it displays *(41593497999679300000).*
    The issue is only with 20 digits numeric ID's , if i append any special character to the end say '#' or '..' it shows the exact value along with the appended character. But the user insist they need only the value that is in the table. I am finding it hard to figure out, if any one of you have encountered the same issue or if any of you have any suggestions to overcome this excel conversion thing please do advice me.
    Thanks in advance :)

    Thanks for you response, but i already tried what you suggested, instead of appending single quote in front of ID, i did at the end prior with '#', it preserves the value if i add any character to the id but the appended value shows up too :(.
    Well, i just got the solution and it did work, thanks to [Brian Hill|https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=651632] for the post, i did what exactly he said and it worked. I was so very happy and wanted to share with everyone.

    Hi,
    This is more a question for the BSP forum.
    Anyway, as such it's realy easy since you can use HTML in order to import to Excel. All you need to do is add
    runtime->server->response->set_header_field( name = 'Contnet-Type'
    value = 'application/vnd.ms-excel' ).
    runtime->server->response->delete_header_field( name = 'Cache-Control' ).
    runtime->server->response->delete_header_field( name = 'Expires' ).
    runtime->server->response->delete_header_field( name = 'Pragma' ).
