Download stopped (err = 8008)

I am trying to download the movie "Role Models", but I keep getting an error message. It tells me that part of the file may be corrupted, and to check for available downloads to download it again. That would be sweet if I didn't keep getting the same message over and over again. I am kind of ****** off because it already charged me 15$, any help would be appreciated.

Hi Dear,
You usually get this error (err=8008) when you try to download an apps need a spacific port to be open in your connection if you know what I mean.
Anyway, to solve this problem you need either to try to download the same app from another Internet access like (3G, broadband) or even you can go to some of your friends and use their Internet access to do it.
Option 2: You need to open the spacific port needed for that app you'e trying to download.
Option 3: Try to change the DNS server in your route, that's will work some time.

  • ITunes download stopped - (err = 100)

    Pre-ordered Guardians of the Galaxy.
Got notification over night that download was available.
Tried to download, got following message "4.01 GB of 4.01 GB - stopped (err = 1000)
Quit iTunes, tried again - same result.
Quit iTunes, restarted Mac, tried again - same result.
Quit iTunes, shutdown Mac, connected Cat 5 cable, tried again - same result.
When I search my external iTunes library drive, I see 4 folders in the DOWNLOADS folder that say "Guardians of the Galaxy _ James Gunn.tmp"
    Inside of those folders are 2 files - download.m4v (4.31 GB) & Info.plist (575 bytes)
It appears that the file is being downloaded, but not processed correctly.
Anything on my side I can do to rectify this?   Or is this ANOTHER Apple download screw up?

I've tried to download the 1080p version 3 times over the last day, and have had no luck.
It's odd that the download manager says it's 4.01 gigabytes.
The file is 4.31 gigabytes,  and the info.plist shows the bytes read as about that.
    The MD5 sums match:
    actual file: a9a70c73223c6744ff1d70552a6448cb
    info.plist:   a9a70c73223c6744ff1d70552a6448cb
I'm in the process of downloading the 720p version.  According to the download manager, it is 4.21 gigabytes. This makes sense when looking at the actual file size of the 1080p.
It really bothers me to spend $20 and then have to spend a bunch of time trying to figure out a way to see the thing I spent my money on.  Hate to say it, but it may be time to move away from apple and Mac.

  • ITune Store download stopped (err=8003, -3259, etc.)

Since upgrading to vers. 7 I have troubles downloading TV Shows (f.e. Prison Break Season1) for which I payed for.
The downloads are starting but stopped suddenly with above mentioned error messages. Very annoying also as some of the downloads pursue to about 95%, stop and are restarting from 0% again!
Are there any known problems with the server or can someone please explain possible troubleshooting?
    Thanks, Axel
PS: I might add that the Software Upgrade from QuickTime Pro 7.0.2 to 7.1.3 - for which I bought the upgrade - is also not working (although I doubt that has anything to do with the iTune Store Server)

On 25th I got the following mail from iTMS:
    1) Before proceeding, make sure you're using the latest version of iTunes. It can be downloaded free of charge: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
Note: Installing the latest version of iTunes will not affect your Library or any items in your account that you haven't downloaded.
    2) Open iTunes.
    3) From the Store menu, choose "Advanced" and then "Deauthorize Audible Account" and then re-authorize it from the same drop-down menu.
    4) Enter your account name and password and click OK.
To start downloading your recent purchases, please follow these steps these steps:
Enter your account name and password when prompted, then click the Check button. Your purchase should begin downloading.
This article provides more information about resuming interrupted downloads:
    http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93015
Once your purchases have downloaded, they will appear in your Purchased playlist as well as your iTunes library. However, you will need to authorize your computer again (1) to play your purchases. To authorize your computer, choose "Authorize Computer..." from the Store menu
    - I do not have an account with Audible
    - This did not solve the error messages and download problems I have.
    - (1) Why would one have to authorize the computer again as it has not been deauthorized?
Does anyone at ITMS knows what is going wrong?

  • Movie Download stopped (error=8008)

    It says file is corrupted

I am going through the same thing with two downloads. I opened a support ticket with support. They placed a new copy of each show for me to download and once again, got the same error. I bought 6 seasons of Psych over the weekend and all downloaded perfectly except these two episodes.
Years of buying TV shows and I never had trouble till now. The troubleshooting page wasn't helpful.

  • Download stops and I get err = 8008

I purchased the TV Show "Fallen" and I've tried 5x's to download it. I've clicked "Checked Purchases" as iTunes advised, and still can't download the entire show. The error message says stopped (err=8008)
What can I do? Will it fix itself?

Interesting. You are the first Mac person I've run across that has had this problem. Until now, I had assumed it was exclusively a "iTunes on Windows" issue. Just curious--what type of Mac do you have? Is it Intel-based? Also, can you verify a few other questions? We should be able to figure this out.
    1) What is the path of the iTunes temporary directory on Mac OSX 10.5?
    2) Did you erase the entire Download directory or just the corrupted partial download?
    3) If you erased the directory, did it properly recreate itself after you retriggered the download? Can you still download other things? (You could try the "Free Single of the Week".)
    4) After you erased the file and went back into iTunes to trigger the download, does the file start redownloading from 0% (e.g. moving slowly as it builds back up?) Or does fairly quickly skip right back to the place where it is stuck?
    5) How much free disk space do you have on your Mac? (I'm guessing this isn't the problem since you were able to download a subsequent episode.)
Answers to these questions will help, but if I had to guess now without them, it sounds like you still may not have erased the corrupted partial download yet, and if that is the case, would explain why the download keeps getting hung at the same point.
If you are desperate to resolve the issue sooner rather than later, if you still have one of your five iTunes computer authorizations available, you could authorize a different computer, download the show, sync it to your iPod, and then use the option in iTunes to resync it back from your iPod into your primary computer. (If you need help with that, search for "Moving iTunes Store purchases to another computer" in the iTunes help.) Good luck!

  • Videodownload stops (err 50)

Hi, I am trying to download a movie and watch it. At 3,79 of 3,8 GB the download stops (Err 50), and when I resume, it starts from the beginning again - to stop at the same point. I've watched the movie now until about 10 minutes to the end, then it stops, presumably because it has not been loaded completely. Any idea? Thanks,
    Stef99

I have this same problem. It all started over 4 months ago when I downloaded "Starship Troopers- Marauders" as part of a purchase of several items. All other items in that purchase (music and movies) downloaded fine. But I got error 8008 for Marauders. I went back and forth with iTunes for the next few months. They never figured out what the problem was or explained what caused it. It was resolved by a refund of the purchase. I recently tried again and got the same result. But now I have been getting more errors and have 3 more items which failed to download with error 100000. What is going on with iTunes??? All of my software is up to date and I have business class cable internet. I have a top line MacBook Pro with Leopard. I have been through the full progression of flowchart solutions from Apple Support. How can I fix or prevent this problem and what is causing it?

  • Err 8008 - Cant get it to stop

    Hey all!
Having problems downloading Grey's Anatomy season 2. This is happening with many of the shows in this season. I keep getting the err = 8008 messages. If I resume it goes a little further then starts again. I have tried deleting the files form the Downloads folder and the downloads list in iTunes and restarted all over again but it keeps happening.
I have no problems with my connection. I just finished downloading the Eve client which is 2.5 gigs without issue.
Also, why is it that when the download fails iTunes doesn't just start over again??
    Any help would be appreciated.

Search using the name of this large file in Spotlight -- anything show up in an unexpected location?
If you click on Window in the menubar, and choose Activity, what does it says is in process?
Quit Mail, and hold down the Shift key while clicking to relaunch Mail -- make any difference?

  • Errors while downloading purchases 'stopped (err = -3253)'.

I am hoping someone here can offer some help to this problem I am having.
I have had my Mac for over three years and through out this time I have purchased and downloaded a lot of films and music with absolutly no problem.  For over a month now I have been unable to download getting the error 'stopped (err = -3253)'.
I have been intouch with the iTunes store team who say there is no issue there end and have suggested a few things to try but nothing works.  They claim there is a problem with my internet connection.  However I fail continiously to download any large film (small file like song can download with the odd error) to my mac yet I can download the same to my Iphone, stream to my apple TV without fault.  I can also stream internet radio to my mac with iTunes.  I can also use all other internet services on any device without issue including my mac.  I only downloaded some software (about 6.5GB) a few days ago.
Based on this I feel the fault is with iTunes but cannot find the cause.  Steps I have tried include:
    1. Complete shutdown of everything in house.
    2. Use of Ethernet over WiFi.
    3. Creating a new libary.
    4. Signing in and out of iTunes Store.
    5. Added Mac to DMZ on Router
    6. Disabelling Firewall
    7. Changing DNS to various others aswell as my ISP's
I am a little lost what I can check from here.  I plan to visit a friends to attempt to download on their internet connection to rule mine out completly and will update here how this goes.  In the mean time perhaps some of the good people here may have some suggestions.
Thank you all in advance and I hope this will help anyone else encountering the same issues.

Hi, my name is Ralph and I been having this problem for about a month now.   I already contacted apple senior tech about the error code 3253 . They went through all the trouble shooting they had to find out that my computer was ok.  They escalated this to the engineers at iTunes.  I finally got an answer from them after they did the trouble shooting and had to send them a file from my computer while iTunes was downloading and error out .   Listen carefully.    It's not your computer or router or anything.   The problem is at iTunes and there right now investigating this problem.   So relax and hopefully they fix it soon.   I hope this has help you out. :)

You'll have to check your security software settings, iTunes has to be able to connect to Apple servers during the download process.

  • Unable to download purchase. stopped (err = -48).  Any help on this?

I purchased an entire season of a TV show.  I was able to purchase, but I get the following error when I go to download to my PC (Windows 7):  stopped (err =-48).  It threw a -50 once, but the troubleshooting for that error didn't solve the problem. I was to delete a folder that didn't exist.
Any ideas?  This is new problem and I have had no issues in the past downloading music, movies, TV, etc...
    Thanks

Please explain how to do that. Are you telling her to create another Apple ID? That would complicate things for her considerably.
