Download stops/stuck at 99%...only .exe files

whenever (from last 2 years) i try to download an binay file .exe file...the download never compeletes....it stops at 99 %...in this way i cannot update my adobe flash player or mozilla firefox....i have no antivirus... firewall turned offf.....i tried everything....i reinstalled windows about 5 times in last two years but the problem is same.....if you cannot help me then upload the latest flash player(full 16 or 17 mb i think) as a rar file on any site and send link but help me in solving my problem...

It's quite clearly trying to run some sort of security scan on the downloaded file and something is broken so it's waiting forever for it to finish.
You can still get to the exe file, right click the download and browse to the folder it's downloading to. Make sure you can see hidden files and also do not have known file extensions hidden (every Windows user should know how to set this) you should see the file you're downloading in there and another file with the same name but with .part on the end. Right click this "part" file and select copy, paste it somewhere else (temp folder) and rename it to what it's supposed to be. Then you should be able to run it.
Alternatively, you can also use another browser to download the same file. Right click the download in Firefox and select "Copy Download Link". Then paste this link into another browser and let that download it.
There's probably something in about:config you can change to prevent the security scan from running ( browser.download.manager.alertOnEXEOpen may be worth a try ). My guess is that some antivirus program you had installed in the past inserted something into Firefox that it didn't bother to remove when the AV software was uninstalled. This kind of thing also used to break Microsoft Office as well.

Download the lnk registry fix from www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html. Reinstall iTunes. Should you find that all of your desktop shortcuts have again turned into links to the iTunes application apply the patch.

Hello Sony, Yesterday i purchased HDR-CX405. My question is, how to stop dual recording? Only mp4 file needed. Both file created on memory card while shooing video scene - AVCHD and mp4. I don't want AVCHD (too big file), just want mp4 file only.

I would just like to confirm the answer VideoGeek posted. The camera can only record in Mp4 when it's set to Dual Rec. Both an AVCHD and Mp4 file will be created and written on your card. We would also suggest recording in AVCHD and later converting the file to Mp4 using the PlayMemories Home software.

Supporting files outside .exe file

I have a labview executable which uses some resources.Currently I'm using the resources by giving file path.It becomes a problem when uploaded the executable and support files in the Internet and accessed from there.It loads only exe file and misses resource file.
Is there any option to embed resource files inside executable ?

If they are not LabVIEW VIs - e.g. documents, external code (dlls) then no, I don't think they can be included 'inside' the executable. In your build specification you can set them to 'always include' and then in the destinations page select where they end up (e.g. in the same directory as the .exe, in a support directory etc.).
If you use the 'application directory' VI in the File I/O palette - this will return the path to either the project if in the development environment or the folder of the executable in the runtime engine. This should allow you to specify the path that will work whether in the runtime engine or development system. You can use conditional disable structures or the App.Kind property to determine if the VI is running in the dev suite or the runtime engine.
Also, the paths will only work on the local (or network) file system - you can't specify an internet address - LabVIEW won't be able to download the files from the internet unless you program your application to do that.
You should put the executable (build specification output that includes the .exe and your supporting resources) in a .zip file if you are uploading to the internet or create an installer.

How to convert Windows 8.1 .exe file to ISO image for installation via Boot Camp?

I have a late 2013 retina display MacBook Pro and want to use Boot Camp to run one piece of software that is run exclusively on Windows operating systems. I have a Windows 8.1 download from MS that is an .exe file, and I need to convert it (I believe) to an ISO image on a flash drive. How do I convert the .exe file to an ISO image?

How to create a .exe file from the .vi file with excel template. Since I am giving only .exe file, the client wont be having the excel templates. So please tell me how to build a .exe file with templates which will be invoked by mainfile.vi. Please let me know if U guys know. (Now in my mainfile.vi I am using local file location path to invoke)

I have tested it out at my PC and it is working.
I have tested with MS office report and put the template "Excel Template.xlt" under VI's folder (C:\temp) and make the exe file.
After the exe file has been moved to other place(C:\build) and has been executed, the exe file try to locate "Excel Template.xlt" under both C:\temp and C:\build. As long as the template is the same folder with exe file, it is working.
Pls refer to attached file.

Premiere Pro CC2014 I download encore unzipped where do I put file. It stated no installer.

I have old Premiere 8 and 9 on my computer.
Now I installed Premiere Pro CC 2014 which doesn't have Encore or templates for titles with it. I have downloaded the Encore cs6 which is .exe file but when I double click it states their is no installer. It needs to be put into the folder with the other files that have the installer included with them. I can't find that folder. I am using a 30 day free trial and I haven't yet been able to complete one movie to DVD. 6 days gone already!

After clicking on the provided link , Above error pops up. I clicked "ok" n allowed download to complete after which same previous error shows up!

When i download an ".exe" file the only option i'm given is to save; i want to be able to run

I understood the security reasons for not making it a default but didn't see why it should be completely removed, just put warnings on the option if needed.
re download: yes I realise that at least it's to a temp area that can be cleaned up. All I care about is that I click and it runs, I do not want to worry about saving it, bringing up Windows Explore, finding it and then clicking on it again to run it.
Thanks a lot for the help, I hope Firefox won't dumb down the products to the lcd. It's tricky to design something that is simple to use but flexible enough to satisfy different requirements if needed but it is worthwhile.

Downloaded PSE 13 files no exe file only 7z

I downloaded PSE13 from Adobe twice but received only .7z files which I cant execute to install

Thanks for your response. My computer is a Dell 64 bit laptop. I did change browsers from IE11 to Firefox. Again all I received were 2 files, both with the .7z extension. In both cases, I used the latest winzip and 7-zip to extract the files. In both cases, I received the error message "Not a valid archive". I noticed that the download program put the files in a folder on my desktop labeled PS9. The files downloaded as expected when I downloaded on my 32 bit desktop. When I tried to use the files from my desktop on the 64 bit laptop, I received a message stating the computer (64 bit laptop) was incompatible with the files (presumably 32 bit). Apparently the problem has something to do with the 64 bit vs 32 bit.

When I try to download Firefox for Windows, it unzips the file and says it cannot find 7-Zip file and stops download

I have windows 7 on a desktop. I had firefox before which worked fine then I attached a router to my computer that may have been defective and may have damaged the computer. I took the router off. Firefox suddenly reverted back to the start up page of when you are new to firefox, e.g. here's how it works, and stopped loading my normal home page. Even though I entered the tabs I wanted for my startup home page every time I shut down my computer it went back to the beginning thinking I had only just loaded it. I did lots of system diagnostics but nothing appeared to be wrong with my computer so I uninstalled Firefox, restarted, then downloaded it again. When I download it, it says run or save and I choose run. Then it extracts the file and a message comes up that says "7-Zip. Cannot find file. Then nothing more happens. No files are downloaded to my computer and it's as though I never tried to download it.

SAVE the installer to your hard drive (do not use the "Run" option); save it to your Desktop so that you can find it. When the download is complete, close whatever browser you have open, click or double-click the file you downloaded and see if it installs without a problem.
The downloader is a self-extracting archive and should not need or use 7-zip. I have 7-zip installed on my system and it does not interfere with nor is it used in the Firefox install process. Hopefully, you have not set the downloading of .exe files to be associated with 7-zip.

Why does FireFox freeze and the only way to unfreeze it is to open the task manager and close the plugin-container.exe file??? It has been happening more and more often and it is getting VERY AGGRAVATING!!!!!

When Firefox does freeze (not responding appears in parentheses in the page tab) I am not able to access any of the webpages (the entire webpage is hidden behind a vaguely white transparent foreground) and more often than not any files I might be downloading are stopped before the entire file has been transferred - which means that I have to start those downloads from the beginning AGAIN. This has been happening for quite some time and I AM SICK AND TIRED OF IT HAPPENING!!
If it continues to happen for much longer I will swear off FireFox FOREVER!!!!! Either a program works or it does not work and lately Firefox has not worked worth a damn...........
The ONLY way to force Firefox to allow me to access it is for me to end the plugin-container.exe file process using Task Manager. Clearing there is a SERIOUS problem here that has not been resolved - why not???

The pluging container opens up unnecessary copies as the cookies/history are cleared, this is a known issue, it might be what you are seeing, and it is hoped to be fixed in some future release of firerox.
There are some hangs affecting some users, with symptoms being high cpu usage, occurring as bookmark changes or syncing is in progress, there is a work around for that.

First of all, Welcome to the Apple Discussion Forums!
The .exe file format is a Windows or DOS file format. This is an extension that is short for an "executable" file. I'm not knowledgeable about what Virex will catch but it is most likely the file carried a virus that Virex stopped from executing. Just a guess on my part. I don't think (I'm sure someone will correct me here if I'm wrong) that your OS will read .exe file format or at least not without third party software.
Search for ".exe file format" (Google for instance) and you will find many definitions of the file format.
