I can't find any downloads for a manual, drivers and BIOS updates for the Thoshiba Satellite 230
How do I enter the BIOS settings ?

Hi,
you know the Satellite 230 is an old machine. You can find it in the download section of Toshiba's web page under: "Archive" - "Satellite-Archive".
To enter BIOS I think you have to hold down Esc or F2 during startup.

Need a slow download option for Satellite Internet Connections

Adobe Acrobat X fails to download completely when using Satellite internet connections. The executable downloads but the 51Mbytes of software only gets part way through before failing as it is requires cable/ADSL speeds.
Please, those of us in the country who are remote, rely on satellite internet to reduce travel costs. It would be nice if adobe would provide a download option for slow connections.

What HDDs are supported for Satellite 5100-201

Hi!
My disk made some strange noises, maybe it have one foot in the grave...
Have latest bios 1.9. and original disk at 30GB.
Have an Hitachi 40GB I tried with, but notebook did not find it.
So I would like to know what disks and sizes that are supported for that model.

Very strange did you use a compatible 40GB HDD?
In my knowledge the notebook should be able to recognize the 40GB HDD.
As far as I know the 30 GB HDD which was installed is a Toshiba MK3017GAP and the computer supports a 20, 30, 40 or 60 GB HDDs.
I think these HDD should be compatible:
Toshiba HDD2171B 40GB HDD
HITACHI G8BC00009110 40GB HDD
Toshiba HDD2183B 60GB
PS: The strange noise coming from the HDD could be the beginning of the end
So make a data backup.

and Model = Satellite Pro 6100
IN The short Model no, i only have PS610U or PS610E

Is there an OpenGL Intel HD Graphics driver for the Satellite L650?

I've checked latest driver information on Toshiba support and this shows driver version 8.15.10.2086 as the latest, however with it already installed in the L650 I get this error when trying to run Minecraft.

I would like to buy A Toshiba L655D-133 but i need to know drivers are available for Windows XP if anyone knows i would be most grateful.

Satellite L655D is preinstalled with Windows 7 as you can see on Toshiba website but thats no problem: If you have older applications they require Windows XP you can use the XP Virtualization mode on Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate.
For this virtualization mode, Virtual PC from Microsoft will be used and that means you have a real XP system for these programs they require it.
With other words there is no reason anymore to install XP instead Windows 7.

Hi there,
the biggest model of the 2800 series was delivered with a 30GB HDD. But I think maybe you can try a 40 or 60GB HDD.
The bad thing is that I cannot promise you, since the machine is a pentium 3 platform and I don´t really know how big they drives can be..
The most secure way is to buy a external USB-HDD and just put the data on it, but thats just my opinion.. ;)

Need swappable CD rom drive for the Satellite 230CX

After hours trawling the net, I still haven't found the part number for the swappable cdrom drive for the Satellite 230CX.
Sadly a couple of sites say it's the PA2659U / XM-1402B, so I bought one from eBay, and it doesn't fit!
Any help would be appreciated with either the straight answer or a pointer to a parts list.

It is possible to install the driver from Intel but you have to do this is device manager!
You have to FORCE windows choosing the downloaded driver and this can be done using the advanced installation procedure. This helps to choose the driver from Intel and to finish the installation!

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one which has already been described is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Another option when using a single library is to set one or both of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
Choosing the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod ( for example, around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB Mini or Nano). If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.
