I'm guessing few people use this version of Aperture. Here's what happened because I use it. Apple spent several hours with me before I found the link to this software update.
Then I downloaded the patch. Then my computer would not install it as security changes needed to be changed from the standard: "only install software from the app store and identified developers." To install this patch, I needed to change settings to show, "allow applications downloaded from ANYWHERE."
This surprised me.
I ordered four books with this software today, spending over thirty dollars for each. For three of the four, I needed to change the order after it was processed by Apple so that the three gift books would be shipped to relatives instead of to me. NOTE THAT ADDING OTHER ADDRESSES WITHIN this version of Aperature doesn't change any shipping details in the actual order.
Since the rep told me the newer version is only about $90, I may spring for it. Or I might just give up on Aperture entirely and buy ADOBE Lightroom, since this application has been BUGGY.

Trying to download the In Design CS5 patch 7_5_3 patch-all, but I get error message "Some updates failed to install, update is not applicable." CS5 is the only version of the Creative Suite that I have on my MacBook.

How can I get it to download the patch?

Terminate the process in task manager or turn off Minibridge in the PS prefs and restart your system.

You might try creating a new user account with admin rights and attempt installing the update from there.

Can anyone help me here? I've tried re-downloading the patch, doing it with another patch etc but always the same. I am uploading the zip file to the server and unzipping using "unzip p....".

Hi,
There seems to be couple of reasons for this:
-This problem indicates that the patch is not extracted properly.
The patch was unzipped on a pc and transferred over to the server box.
The problem can also occur if the downloaded patch is corrupted .
-Opatch was not run from the correct patch directory. Once the patch is unzipped, the patch is then stored in the following example location:
\patches\p123456_9042_WINNT\123456\123456
Make sure that the patch location has write permissions to the user that is performing the patching.

How to upgrade the patches in ACS 5.1

I want to upgrade the acs 5.1 in distributed system. We have one hub/ primary ACS and two other spoke / secodary acs. I have following querry.
Will it be possible to upgrad only one Secondary server.>
Will updated secondary ACS will able to sych it configuration with primary acs running on older version?
Will updated secondary acs will retain the current configuration and authenticate the client.?

Current version of ACS system is 5.1.0.44
Primary ACS is also working as log collector.
I have downloaded the patch 5.1.0.44.6.rar.rar, so i belive i should rename it to 5.1.0.44.6.tar.gpg.
so if i want to upgrade my ACS system:
I will have to do following steps:
de-register secondary ACS from primary and take the backup of secondary ACS
update the patch using repository.
finally i will have to upgrade the primary ACS.
I would like to know what is the difference between installing / updating patch and Upgrade the ADE-OS version which is shown as second step in cisco.com site.

I am new in Solaris/Unix systems. I need to install a new patch for solaris 10 8/07, which is the 127576-03. I want to read the install information and I have seen in this website, where I downloaded the patch, that the install information is held in the Install.info file, but I don't know where this file is. If I would have to get such file from the 127576.jar file, could you anyone tell me how to get it, please?

Once you download the patch you will get the entire details and steps in patch itself(Readme.txt)
but just in general it goes as follows
1.     Apply the Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (10.1.0.5) patch set.
2.     Apply the Software Update To Business Intelligence.
3.     Apply the Software Update To Infrastructure.
4.     Apply the Metadata Repository Update To Infrastructure.
and for
Backup strategy so that if something wrong happens ,
Take a cold back up(stop the entire application server) of your entire ORACLE_HOME(ie both infra and BI)

Error downloading large patches

We've been having an issue with Patch Wizard failing on the patch download for large patches and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems.
The patch would start to download and fail after about 1120k. In doing research to determine the cause, our network guys noticed that a "reset packet" was being sent from the database server but it was not clear why. We are able to download through a browser from My Oracle Support to a desktop machine with no problem, but when we try to download through the browser to the database server, it fails with "...filename could not be saved because the source file could not be read. Try again later or contact the server administrator."
So it seems that the issue is not related to Patch Wizard but to our database server. We are, however, able to download large patches through the browser from IBM to the database server. So it seems to be a problem with the connection between MOS and our database server.
We are currently at EBS 11.5.10.2, database platform AIX 6.1 and version 10.2.0.4.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to narrow this down further, I'd really appreciate it.

Yes, we've applied the patches as per note 1267768.1.
When we attempt to download the patch through the browser, we just get a message displayed on the screen. hen we attempt to download the patch through Patch Wizard, the View Log doesn't show anything useful... just the fact that it failed:
Unable to download patches. Please verify following :
- Proxy Connection settings
- Internet Access
- MetaLink Accessibility
We did verify all of those things (plus we are able to successfully download small patches).
Is there another log that we should be looking for?

Error installing KB3025390. Now cannot decline the patch.

I am running SBS 2011 Windows 2008R2.
Patch KB3025390 was pushed through by WSUS. When I tried to install the patch it failed. I then downloaded the patch from the Microsoft Download site and tried to install it. It failed again. Now I cannot decline the patch in SBS Console > Updates. It
just shows up under errors.
Does anyone know how I can either get this patch installed or declined?

Based on your description, I understand that you failed to install the KB3025390 when it pushed via WSUS. Then
directly download the update from Microsoft site and install again. However, still fail to install the update.
Did you install any third-party application on the server? Please perform a
clean boot and check if this issue still exist. Please also run
SBS BPA tool and check if find relevant issues.
Meanwhile, did you get any error message when failed to install this update? Please also check
CBS and WindowsUpdate log files if find more clues.
For WSUS, please refer to following article and repair WSUS, then check if can help you.
