'Download unsuccessful' on Nexus S 2.3.2

When attempting to download the latest beta just now from firefox.com/m on my unmodified Nexus S running Android 2.3.2, I receive the error message 'download unsuccessful'.
Using standard Android browser.
Have tried refreshing the page to get another mirror, to no avail.

Can you try downloading by searching for Firefox in the Android Market app? You could also try using a different network connection (WiFi instead of 3G, for example).
Also, please note that there's a serious bug in Android 2.3.2 that can cause the entire phone to freeze when running Firefox. Before running Firefox, you might want to check for over-the-air updates, or apply the update manually. For details, see: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643878

  • Apps Market - Download Unsuccessful

I have been unable to download any apps to my phone from the market.  I keep getting a message saying Download Unsuccessful.  I took out the battery, restarted, made sure that 3rd party apps are allowed and nothing is working.  It stopped working on Friday.  Is anyone else having this problem?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, S

yes it did, make sure you back up your contacts to the VZW backup assistant  and google.  Most of your pictures will be on your SD card.  It's annoying i've had to do it twice already.  If it happens again I will be taking the phone to Verizon store to see what the deal is.  You will just lose any text messages you have.  Good luck

  • Download unsuccessful message when I try to download an ebook to my PRS-T3 from Kobo or public library.

I bought a new PRS-T3, installed all the new software using the new Reader for PC software on my Windows-7 system. I can sideload ebooks from my PC to the PRS-T3, but I can't download ebooks directly to the PRS-T3 via my home wifi connection. When I try, I get a 'Download unsuccessful' message, but no details about why it was unsuccessful. All the settings look fine to me, but I can't seem to download any ebooks. Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Well... here I am making the 1st reply to my own entry about this problem.
Sadly, I don't have a resolution to the problem, and the problem persists.
For anyone who does find their way here, and might be interested... I did receive an email from the Sony "post-sales support" people, with some kind of "canned" response. It was obvious from the text that they had not read, or perhaps did not understand the details I provided in the email I had sent them. Their email suggested installing the latest updates (I had already told them this had been done) and some other equally helpful things. The final suggestion was to phone their customer services team. I did this, but the people I talked to were not "technical", and could only go down their list of trouble shooting things, such as a request to turn off the wifi router and turn it back on again. They could not provide any explanation of the 'Download Unsuccessful' message, or suggest anything to obtain more details about the failure. However, they have "escalated" my problem to the next stage, and now I'm waiting for someone to ring and tell me what is required to have my PRS-T3 repaired.
Sorry if you were hoping for an answer to this problem. I suspect the answer is a replacement PRS-T3, or a Kindle.

  • Can't receive pix messages.  States "Download Unsuccessful"

My son just got a Droid Charge yesterday.  I have a picture on my phone that I'm trying to send him (my phone is an Env3).  Everytime I try to send him a pix message he receives the message but when trying to view the picture it says "Download Unsuccessful."  I can send the picture to other people with other phones and they get the picture just fine.  I see this addressed in some other threads but they are old and no resolution was found that I can see.  I have a hard time believing this 4G top of the line phone can't receive picture messages.  Thanks for your help.

Sorry you're having a problem receiving messages. It appears to me that the receiving phone (DROID Charge) has a restriction or blocking feature on the account that is preventing it from receiving Picture Messages. Since you are able to send pictures to other devices without incident, this would not be a network issue, nor a problem with your phone.
To address your concern further, please PM me with the Charge's wireless number and the last four digits of the SSN (or Tax ID if applicable) on the account. I'll be happy to review and resolve this for you. Please also provide a contact number and a good time to reach you when you will have access to the Charge so that we can test after making corrections.
Thanks for your post and we look forward to resolving this for you.

  • Can't play downloaded mp3 on Nexus 7

download page allows open, but nothing happens when played.
would also be super helpful if you could download a file and save it in dropbox

What an arogant response aaron. Many of us who use Windows have purchased iPods, and are simply looking for them to actually work.
You clearly like your Mac and think Apple can do no wrong, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the question posed here. Your advice is worthless.
I too have problems with iTunes since upgrading to Vista. During my upgrade I had problems with three previously installed software packages. For two of those, I was able to find helpful information on various web forums that enabled me to resolve the problem. However, for iTunes, every forum I have found that discusses the issue has several folks chiming in with the same kind of snotty attitude as you. Frankly, it's just not helpful.
Believe me, if I wanted advice from you about what computer to buy, or which OS to run, or anything else, I'd have asked those questions directly. The question asked here is how to make iTunes work properly on Windows Vista. If you cannot answer that question then please just shut up and go somewhere else to preach your Apple religion.
Now, is there anyone from Apple available to at least give a helpful update on when a fix for this will be available? ("In a few weeks" is not a helpful answer - particularly when that statement was made MORE THAN a few weeks ago.) I have posted the same question to MS on thier forums too, but haven't heard back.

  • Email Attachments/Downloads - Unsuccessful To Open

    Hi There!
When attempting to open attachments or downloads, an Adobe Reader window appears with, 'could not open because it's either not a supported file or it's corrupted'. I realize this must be an easy fix...how can it be resolved?
    Thanks!
    Rick

Don't open them from the email message; use the Save button where it shows the attachment and choose a location to save it. Then you can open it.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Download Unsuccessful due to Corrupt Data

After much headache in trying to download the program from the licensing website, during the finalizing steps Adobe was unable to complete the download of my product because data.1.1 something or other was corrupt. It then asked me to cancel or abort. I have had this product for several days now and cannot use it because of the issues that keep coming up during install and download.
How do I get Photoshop Elements 10 to install?

Well, you need to get a completed download before attempting to install the product.  You can try downloading again, after deleting the failed download.

  • SFTP Download Unsuccessful with Cyberduck

I'm a SFTP newb and I'm trying to update our work website. I'm trying to download one of our website files through Cyberduck so that I can edit it but I keep getting the "Network Error: Download Failed" connection refused message. I have enabled Remote Login, File Sharing and our internet is definitely, obviously, working. Can anyone help me with this?
    Thank you,
    Brittany

That's most likely a configuration error in CyberDuck or incorrect login credentials for your web server. None of the settings in your Mac's Sharing system preferences have anything to do with this; those are for connecting to your own Mac from another computer. You'll need to talk to the administrator of your web server and confirm that the server settings and the user credentials you are using are correct.
    Regards.

  • Flash Player download unsuccessful

tried to install the latest version but it didn't work. followed the instructions to run the uninstaller. tried to install again still didn't work. the download stops at 47% and says  "cannot contact reliable source". I then installed it from the direct install and it said it was successful but when I click on a video, it says I have to install flash player. When I check to see if I have the latest version, the box is blank. Also, flash player shows up in programs and features as if it were installed. I'm at my wits end. i'm running windows 7 64 bit. ie8 and Firefox. I only did the install because the Adobe pop up window appeared and said there was a new version 11.8. now I have no flash player and can't watch any videos.

Did you install both ActiveX and Plugin?
Is Flash Player (Shockwave Flash) enabled in your browsers?

Can you provide us with more information of what's happening with the emails? What is the make and model of your device and are these emails corporate or personal?

  • Fascinate Market all of a sudden stopped downloading apps - pls help

I bought a Samsung Fascinate today. It never downloaded any apps.  I did a Master restart, and it started to download apps (about 4) - then it stopped downloading.  I click on "install," it says "application will download" and then it immediately says "download unsuccessful."
I called customer service at Verizon three times - spoke to their tech guys - and they recommended getting a new phone.
So, I went tonight and got a new phone. It was working great - downloading apps.
Then all of a sudden, it stopped downloading apps and every time I try to download anything, it says "download unsuccessful."
So it's not the phone, I gather.  I don't know what to do.  I'm so frustrated.
Thanks for any and all help you can offer.  I really like the phone and don't want to get a different one, but I need to be able to download apps.  Clearly, customer service/tech support is worthless (they were Googling the problem to help me - I can do that!).

Letstry some different steps to try to correct this problem.
First you would want to verify that you have the 3G coverage on the phone.
You can verify that information at the top, next to the signal bars.
Then could I get you to do a soft rest on the device.
    Press the Power key.
    Touch Power off.
    Touch OK.
Press the Power key to power on the device.
Then dial *228 send and option 1,  then dial *228 send and option 2.
If you are attempting to download the same application, try downloading a different application to see if you get the same error message.
    Then try this step:
From the home screen, select Applications.
    Select development,
    Then allow 3rd party applications.
Finally  before downloading applications try stopping the applications that are running in the background.
From the home screen, select Applications.
Select Running Services, Choose unnecessary applications and Force Stop.

  • Bought Snow Leopard in order to download iTunes 11 in order to connect with iOS 7 iPhone, doesn't support iTunes 11

My problems started when I upgraded my iPhone's software to iOS 7.
I have moved from Melbourne, VIC to Perth, WA and my PC is in Melbourne. I live with my Girlfriend, and so I mainly use her desktop Mac to connect to iTunes, so you could imagine my surprise when I tried to connect after the fresh update and discovered that my iPhone will no longer connect to iTunes.
It appears as though you need iTunes 11 to connect with a iOS 7 device, which I was not aware of prior to the update. I then learnt that in order to upgrade to iTunes 11 you need OS X 10.6.8 or later.
Now I'm not very proficient with apple products (I always had an iRiver and PC) so while trying to find the right product on the mac store, I got seriously frustrated. Every time I thought I found what I was looking for, I would click "View in the mac store" which would not take me to a buy or download link, rather literally just a showcase of the features. I went in circles for over a **** hour trying to navigate the store. Finally I found the page where I could actually buy the software and found out you can't simple just download the update, you have to order it, which took about a month before it arrived.
I've just installed it ONLY to find it it's 10.6.3! WHICH IS COMPLETELY USELESS TO ME.
I searched for hours, and was assured that Snow Leopard was exactly what I needed to download the new iTunes. I don't know what to do, I'm not like every other apple customer, I don't have a lot of money, and this phone was a gift so the money I used to buy this update actually sent me broke for 2 weeks. Not to mention it's not even for my own computer, I need to know how to get my money back, and WHAT VERSION I NEED TO PUT MUSIC ON THIS **** PHONE.
I'm sorry if I've come off like every other appleh8tr. I just hate when I'm forced to buy something that does a lot of things when I only need it for one specific purpose. I've already had to buy a new charger cable, and after all of this, my account is frozen because I can't pay for a $1 app I tried to download (unsuccessfully)
    Please help

My advice is always and with Lion even more so to do a clean install, leave the old system as is, use a new drive and format it with Lion, and that way you make a clean break and clean out any carried apps and processes, which you can reinstall if Setup Assistant doesn't.
Expect to do some hardware upgrades as you go along, more RAM, maybe even higher quality, graphic cards, and start wtih a fresh system drive, a new drive for TimeMachine, and a drive to clone your system, clone your user volumes.

  • Can't download files on Android from Server 2012 Essentials Remote Web Access

I have two servers, one with Windows Server 2012 Essentials, and the other SBS 2011.  Employees like using Remote Web Access to log in from anywhere and have access to shared folders.  It works perfect on a Desktop computer, but when they try to
use their Android tablets or phones, and want to download a file (e.g. a PDF) from one of the shared folders on the server, the download fails.   When Microsoft was pushing 2012 they said RWA worked great on mobile devices, do I have to set up something
    separately to make this happen?
I've completely disabled the firewall, and have ports 80,443,987, and 1723(just to be safe) all forwarded to the server.
I can log into the RWA site on the android, browse files and folders, but when I select a PDF to download, the download shows as if it's starting, shows in my android notification as if its going to start downloading (Shows MobileDownload www.mydomain.com)
but eventually after a few minutes, will time out and show "Download Unsuccessful".
Network connectivity is fine as I can do this on a Windows Desktop PC using any browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE) and successfully download anything I want.
UPDATE:  I found this in the event handler when I tried to download something from a mobile device...

    Hi,
Before going further, would you please let me confirm something firstly?
Would you please let me know if all Android devices
encounter this same issue? If you download different type files, will still this issue persists? You can upload a small file (such as a text file) to the share folder, then check if Android device can’t download it.
Based on your description, when logon a desktop computer, you will download files via RWA successfully. Please use the user account which logon computer to logon
the Android device, will still fail to download?
Please check if there has enough free space in Android devices that be used to save download.
When this issue occurred, please check the state of Android device in Dashboard. Besides, I suggest you should run the Best Practices Analyzer (BPA) and fix all
it can find. Then monitor the result.
Run the Windows Server 2012 Essentials Best Practices Analyzer
