Download/upload a class created in se24
hi friends,
i have created a class in se24, now can i download that class in a local file, also i want 2 send it to my friend the class i have created, so can he be able to upload that file,if yes how?
Hi Amit,
You can import Class in your program but cant download & upload Class.
Same is applicable to BADIs.
To import Class in your program, goto SE24 & click FILE => IMPORT

Hi,
We have a 46d playpen system where i have been developing applications. I want to move one particular application to a 620 box. The application has many abap classes, I am unable to find a download utility to download the ABAP class code.
Does anyone know if there is any way of downloading uploading abap classes, a colleague recommended "direct download" from daletech but the enterprise version doesnt work on a 46d system.
If not, is it possible to TP from a 46d to 620, given that neither boxes are configured for transports.
Cheers
JPWork with a Basis person and see if they can manually move the transport for you. You might want to build a small transport first for testing before you commit to moving a lot of stuff.
Maybe there are some notes in OSS in regards to transports between 4.6 and 6.2. -
Is it possible to make a local class accessible in SE24 subclasses?
G'Day,
The scenario is simple: I have a global class created in SE24 with a local helper class defined in the local definitions/implementations sections. The issue is anything declared here is private; however I would like my local class to be available in the subclasses of the global class as well. In other words I want a protected local class.
ZCL_SUPER --> contains local utility class LCL_HELPER
|
V
ZCL_SUB --> needs to make use of LCL_HELPER's methods.
I've messed about with different definitions and FRIENDS but no joy.
I can think of two alternatives:
1. Write a protected wrapper method in zcl_super to expose each lcl_helper method to the subclasses. Annoying, cumbersome, defeats the object of using a local class in first place.
2. Define LCL_HELPER in an include which is added to all subclasses. This effectively makes it public as I no longer control where LCL_HELPER is used. (Unless I do funky stuff with packages which we don't do on this project).
Any better suggestions/ideas/workarounds?
Cheers,
MikeHi Naimesh,
Thanks for the input. Interesting idea about interfaces, I need to play around with this a little.
I don't agree what I'm trying to do would violate encapsulation. I'm after the same visibility level as other class component type. i.e. methods can be private, protected or public. Classes can be local or global - a protected class visible to subclasses would fit the principles quite well.
Consider a global class GADGET which has a protected attribute WIDGET, type ref to a local class. The widget's methods and attributes should really be separate because it is it's own entity, but at the same time it has no business in the wider SAP system. ==> Perfectly sensible use of a local class.
Now, this widget can turn, open, close, light up. So in a GADGET method I can say WIDGET->TURN( ). Create a subclass of GADGET and boom, all such code working with WIDGETs is broken. In some ways it makes local classes a little un-future-proof.
The bothersome thing about the workarounds is that they de-object-orient the two objects by forcing us to create protected methods TURN_WIDGET LIGHT_WIDGET OPEN_WIDGET etc. on the GADGET class. Which goes back to my original point that there's little benefit of creating a local class if we need to do this....
Or am I missing something?
Cheers,
Mike -
Peformance Turning for File Download / Upload with Enabled SharePoint Audit
Greetings all, may I ask your help for Peformance Issues?
Background:
I tried to create a ASP.NET Web Page to download/upload/list SharePoint file and deployed to IIS website in same application server (will NOT use web part as some users are NOT allowed to direct access confidential workspace)
Besides, for Audit Log record purpose, the page will impersonate (without password) the logged in user:
SPUserToken userToken = web.AllUsers[user].UserToken;
SPSite s = new SPSite(siteStr, userToken);
For File Listing, the web service can provide fast response, and we are using service A/C for connection (as no auting for listing, but require audit for file download upload)
Several implemeation options tested for File Downloiad / Upload, but issues occured and finding listed below:
Issues
1) SharePoint Object Model
When I open Site (using new SPSite), it's too slow to respond. (under 1s for all operations, but require 10~50s for open SPSIte. e.g.
using(SPSite s = new SPSite(siteStr) //50s
How can I download/upload file without open SPSite object (using SharePoint object model, but user token should be kept to allow SHarePoint identifiy user actions. e.g. Updated by Tom, NOT system administrator)?
2) SharePoint default web service
For file download, I tried to use SharePoint Web Service for download file, it's quick but how can SharePoint record the audit log to downloaded user, and not service A/C? ( e.g. View by Tom, NOT system administrator)
With Windows SSO solution, please note system should NOT prompt to ask user password for use impersonation
3) HTTP Request API (for file download)
As mentioned in point 2, if the system cannot get password from user, SharePoint also recorded service A/C in audit log... ><
Thank you for your kine attention.
.NET Beginner 3.5Thank you for prompt response, please find my reply with Underline:
Hi,
Maybe I'm not quite clear about the architecture you have now.
Is your asp.net application deployed in separate IIS site but in the same physical server as SharePoint?
Yes
"we are using service A/C for connection", can you please explain the 'A/C'?
Domain User, Local Admin and also SharePoint Service Admin A/C
Opening SPSite is relatively slower but shouldn't take 50 sec. However it depends on your server hardware configuration. You should meet the minimum hardware requirements for SharePoint.
Assigned double resources based on minimum hardware requirements.
For details, 50s is the load test result. But for other SharePoint operation, it takes around/under 3s reponse time.
Are you using SharePoint Audit log? Exactly If so then why don't you just put the hyperlink to the documents in your asp.net page. User maybe have to login once in SharePoint site but
it depends on your security architecture. For example if both of your sites in local intranet and you are using windows integrated authentication, SSO will work automatically User is NOT allowed
to access SharePoint site/server (not implemented for sepreate server yet, as performance issues occured for
separate site in same server) directly from Internet, the
middle server with web interface created for user request.
Whatever I understands gives me the feeling that you download the file using HTTPWebRequest C# class. However regarding security it depends on how authentication is setup in asp.net web site and in sharepoint. If both site uses windows integrated security
and they are in the same server, you can use the following code snippet:
using (WebClient webClient = new WebClient())
webClient.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials;
webClient.DownloadFile("file ur in sharepoint", "download directory");
Thanks, will try and reply later
But still, as I've mentioned, not quite clear about the whole architecture.
A) Request Handling
1) User use browser to request file listing and/or download file (hereafter called: File Download Request) from custom ASP.NET page (Let's say In Server 1, IIS 1)
2) ASP.NET page or File Handler ashx (Server 1, IIS 1) call custom web service, SharePoint deault/OOTB web service or using SharePoint Object Model to access SharePoint Document Library (in Server 1,
IIS 2)
3) Both SharePoint and IIS Web Site
(Server 1, IIS 1 & IIS2) using the same service A/C
4) The web service , File Handler return file obeject to IIS1
5) IIS 1 reply File Download Request to user
B) Application Architecture (In testing environment)
1) no load balancing
2) 1 DB server (Server 2)
3) 1 Application Server (with IIS 1 - ASP.NET, IIS 2, SharePoint Web Site with default SharePoint Web Service, IIS 3 SharePoint Admin Site & IIS 4 Custom SharePoint Web Service)
4) Sepreate AD Server (Server 3)

Download/Upload ABAP Programs, screens, texts, etc
Hi Experts,
Is there any standard program or any tool by which we can download/ upload ABAP programs, sapscripts, Screens, text-elements, Webdynpro for ABAP applications to a local file????
The Download to local server option in SE38 just gives a text copy of program without any screens, text eleemnts, etc which is not as per my requirement.
Points will be rewarded.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION & USE
Allows a user to download programs, Functions, DD definitions, etc to the presentation server. This version searches
recursively for nested includes and function modules, and allows you to download the resulting code as standard text
or HTML web pages within a suitable directory structure.
You can either search by object name, using wildcards if you wish, or a combination of Author and object name. If
you want all objects returned for a particular author then select the author name and choose the most suitable
radiobutton. All objects will be returned if the fields to the right hand side of the radiobutton are left completely
blank.
Compatible with R/3 Enterprise only, for older versions of SAP you will need Direct Download version 5.xx.
This version removes the programming limitations imposed by developing across SAP releases 3 to 4.6.
In order to be able to download files to the SAP server you must first set up a logical filepath within transaction
'FILE', or use an existing one. You must also create a external operating system command in SM69 called ZMKDIR. This
will then be used to create any directories needed on the SAP server
This program is intended to allow a person to keep a visual representation of a program for backup purposes only as
has not been designed to allow programs to be uploaded to SAP systems.

Download/upload abap objects to/from local PC
Hi all,
I need to download objects of a tcode (like includes, reports etc) on to PC and upload it to different server. Can anybody please send me the programs to upload and download objects.
Thanks in AdvanceREPORT ZUPDOWNPROGRAMS LINE-SIZE 132 LINE-COUNT 62 NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING.
This program up / downloads from / to a local dataset
all the components of an ABAP - i.e TEXTS, the entire CUA
including statuses and menus, DYNPROS and source code.
Program documentation and variants are not handled.
INCLUDED programs are automatically handled both on upload
or download. INCLUDE selection can be excluded or generic
e.g only handle INCLUDES starting with ZIN*
INCLUDES within INCLUDES also handled.
The only restriction is on UPLOAD the INCLUDED programs must come
from the same directory as the main program.
On Download of course the ABAP must exist in the library.
Note for LINUX and BATCH users
This program was originally designed as a one off tool for
getting ABAPS etc from a SAP R2 (IBM MVS mainframe system) into
an R3 test system minimising the need for a large amount of
mainframe sysprogs (anybody remember what they were !!) time
and support to say nothing of access problems from TSO /JES2 /
SAP R2. At that time network connections were patchy and the
transport systems largely incompatable and not very reliable.
This program was originally designed as a one off tool for
Must run on Windows front end ---- If you are running SAP with
LINUX on your work station you will have to change the WS_UPLOAD
and WS_DOWNLOAD functions to reflect the Linux file system. The
contents of the data sets themseleves do not need to be changed
Program can easily be modified to run in batch and store
the data on a UNIX host. Change the WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD
to read from and write to UNIX data sets (OPEN FILE etc).
You will also need to modify the parts of the program that get
the DOS directory and display the Windows file paths.
The actual abap data sets do not need to be changed.
Rel 4.0 names can now be up to 40 bytes long
Dynpros and CUA have changed from rel 3.1
Tabstrips now loaded and unloaded in dynpros
Please note restriction on 4.6 systems for users who
have ABAP names which include '/'s in their names.
Rel 4.6b, 4.6c Abap names can include the '/' in their names
e.g /CUST1/CUST2/ORDER
This causes problems when storing to a local file.
a solution is to change the name to %CUST1%CUST2%ORDER i.e / will
be changed to %. On upload the % should be changed back to /
again. This change still needs to be implemented.
If you don't use the / in the abap name then this is not a problem.
If file to be uploaded is in rel 3 format then names are only 8
bytes long.
program uses 3 datasets per abap
1) abapname.eee source, dynpr logic, texts, CUA stuff
2) abapname.hhh dynpr header
3) abapname.fff dynpro fields.
because of varying lengths and contents 3 data sets are used. The
complexity of combining all these to 1 data set would make the
program far too complex.
NOTE: This version of the program can only be used on
release 4.0 or higher. Once an ABAP has been converted
to rel 4.0 it cannot be converted back to rel 3.0
on a release 3/3.1 system. Release 4 CUA tables
are different. Use release 3 version of this program
for releases 3.0 and 3.1. Available on SAPFANS website.
Note that data to be uploaded must have been previously downloaded
by this program (any version since rel 2.0) - except for Initial
Load -- see end of these comments.
Dynpros and CUA statuses have changed since rel 3.1
This program will handle rel 3.1 format on upload but will
download in rel 4.0 format. To upload 3.1 format specify an 'X'
in the rel3 parameter.
If you have downloaded components in rel 4.0 format and you
want to re-load to a 3.1 system you will have to load
the source via standard upload and re-create dynpros and the CUA
manually.
As names can now be longer than 8 characters you can only
use this program if the SAP front end (SAPGUI) supports
long file names (WIN 95/98 or WIN NT). Windows 3.x will not
work as the underlying DOS system cannot handle long file names.
UPLOAD function and DOS directory.
When an ABAP is selected for UPLOAD then the DOS
directory is read into a table. A file called ABAP.BAT is created,
and down loaded to the 'C' drive and executed.
This file executes a DOS DIR command and pipes the output
into a dataset which is then uploaded into an internal
table on SAP.
Note on running DOS commands from ABAP
The first time this procedure is executed you will see a DOS window
which you will have to close manually. To get round this
use windows explorer to select the file ABAP.BAT and then
right mouse click on the file name. Select the
properties window. From this click the CLOSE on EXIT box. This
will then automatically close the DOS function after it has
executed. (Windows restriction).
The DOS function has not been tested using Windows 2000 so
it might not work. OK on W95,W98,WME and Windows NT (No Thanks)
If INCLUDE programs are wanted on UPLOAD only the specified
directory is searched.
Instead of entering path name manually you can click on
the path parameter. Because of Windows restriction you will
have to select ANY file in the relevant directory.
The path will then be copied on to the selection screen.
To do still : Merge 3 files to one and compress output to .ZIP file
fix 4.5 4.6 problem of abaps containing '/' in the name
possibility to automatically up / download referenced
function modules with selection criteria like INCLUDES
To load the ist time into a system.
Create program with ABAP editor and Upload the .EEE file.
Delete ist line (????SRCE) in the ABAP EDITOR --NOT THE DISK FILE
Delete all the source from the line that starts ????TEXT (towards
the end file) till the end so the last line in your source is ENDFORM.
DO NOT ALTER THE DISK FILE. DO THESE CHANGES IN THE ABAP EDITOR.
Save file and execute
Use following parameters (Note the ist time you won't get proper
text on the selection screen).
Function U
Path full dos path containing source e.g c:\abaps\
NOTE YOU MUST ENTER THE FINAL \ as above.
REPID the program name. e.g ZZJIMHXX
note that on the DISK you will see 3 files
ZZJIMHXX.EEE, ZZJIMHXX.FFF, ZZJIMHXX.HHH
just use the name before the dos qualifier - the
program will do the rest
ignore other parameters
The program will then load itself with all the texts etc.
It should now be ready for use.

The process fortunately is the same as the UPLOAD function
except of course we need to read the library instead of the

process INCLUDE modules for Upload
On upload the procedure is more complex as Includes within
Includes can only be resolved by scanning the code and
searching if the program exists in the directory.
To get all INCLUDES within INCLUDES entries in table I_INCL
that do not exist in I_INCLUDE are copied to table I_INCLUDE
after each entire pass of table i_INCLUDE and table is then

Download & Upload Data Dictionary objects
Hi,
Like we have utilities for downloading and uploading ABAP Reports, SAP Scripts & Dynpros; does anybody have some tool to download data dictionary objects from one system and uploading it onto another??
Else we would have to use transports from source to destination - which is my fallback option.
Any pointers to such tools would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
PramodHi,

Download & Upload of SAP ABAP Queries.
Hi All,
Can anybody please guide How to Download & Upload SAP ABAP Queries.
Waiting for positive reply.
Thanks in advance for help.
Regards,
MAMProgram RSAQR3TR is the standard program.
You can simply download your infoset/query from your source system and upload the file into your destination system.
It should works.
If, for some reason you are not authorized to upload/download, you can create a transport and import it using the usual way.
Best regards. -
ECC6.0 code download/upload with unicode
Hi, we have a need for on-going parallel code maintenance of 2 separate development instances. In end effect we need to manually synchronize two development instances for a period of time. We have before in the past used custom programs and some of the standard SAP utilities provided. However I'd be surprised if there isn't a more comprehensive utility supplied by SAP by now for this purpose. By now I mean with release ECC6.0 with unicode active. Does anyone out there know of a utility that can download any program(WebDynpro, BSP, R/3 dynpro, report, program, function module, class, etc with all relevant textpools and documentation) to a file so that it can be uploaded in its entirety without great effort? We currently have a custom program which downloads/uploads ABAP source and text but it only works with standard executable r/3 programs.
Thanks in advance,
KevinHere is the link for the google code site where you can download Saplink.
http://code.google.com/p/saplink/
Here is the direct link to the saplink installation zip file. There should be some instructions within.
http://saplink.googlecode.com/files/SAPlink_install-0.1.3.zip
Once you have the base installation installed, you can then start adding plugins for other development objects. The plugins have their own site.

Download jar / java class from database
Hello,
I have database 10.2.0.3 with one procedure that calls some java class loaded in database. Unfortunately I don't have source code of that java class or whole jar that was loaded into database.
I would like to download it from database and try to decompile it.
Can you tell me how can I download some java classes from database?
Everything I know is only the name of some java class that is used in one PL/SQL procedure (CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE ..... AS LANGUAGE JAVA)
Thanks for some tipsCan you tell me how can I download some java classes from database?You can use dbms_java.export_class procedure to export class as blob, then just save the blob to file.

ABAP query download/upload
Hello experts,
How do I get the query name from its generated program and how to download/upload queries from system to system (4.6C to ECC6)?
Please help, thanks!
Chuongprogram name behind query: SQ01 / Query / More function / Display report name
for transport use program RSAQ3TR (from SE38)
correct process:
export from source system with above program (it creates a transport request)
release transport (like any other transport)
import transport into target system
import transport with the above program
hope this helps

How to download a java class from database to file system

We have one invalid java class in database. We need to verify what is the functionality of this class. So we planned to download this class to file system. Then we need decompile it to source. But we are not able to identify the right command to download the java class from database.

Program to Download / Upload a Dialog program
Hi,
Is there any program/utility to download / upload a dialog program from one system to other. I do no have a transport path between the 2 systems, so either need to re-create the screens or if theres a utility then it would help...
Regards,
K!Hi Kaustubh
yes you can download the same, go to every screen which you want to download and go to utilities download.
But one thing you need to make sure is that, in the target system also you should create the program in the same name.
In the target system create the program with the same name and do the upload.
Please check and let me know, whethe it works

Calculating Download/Upload TED???
Hi All,
I am writing a program that uses URL & URLConnection.
I want to calculate the total TED in bytes used by the program.
chars mostly = 1byte per char
\n = 2bytesMy question is:
by calculating the total chars and there size and adding it to the uploaded and downloaded variables
I have calculated the size of the obvious data,
but is there any other data I need to take into consideration to get an acurate accumulation of TED??
Below I have given the Usage class that stores the TED
and a method that will use the Usage class.
public class Usage{
private static int uploaded;
private static int downloaded;
public static String upload(String url){
int urlSize;
//calc size
uploaded += urlSize;
return url;
public static String download(String content){
int contSize;
//calc size
downloaded+= contSize;
return content;
public int getUploaded(){
return uploaded;
public int getDownloaded(){
return downloaded;
public int getTotalUsage(){
return downloaded + uploaded;
public void reset(){
uploaded = 0;
downloaded = 0;
public String getPageData(String sUrl) throws Exception{
URL url = new URL(Usage.upload(sUrl));
URLConnection urlConn = url.openConnection();
BufferedReader read = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(urlConn.getInputStream()));
String line = ;
String page = "";
while((line = read.readLine()) != null)
page += line;
read.close();
return Usage.download(page);
}Thanx for the advice,
I already did that but for more of a Realtime down speed used 10 millis, and for average down speed:
//Average download speed
public String myDownloadMethod(String url){
long downloadTime;
int size;
String pageData;
float rate;
size = Usage.getDownloaded();
downloadTime = System.currentTimeMillis();
pageData = getPageData(url);
downloadTime = System.currentTimeMillis() - downloadTime;
size = Usage.getDownloaded() - size;
rate = (size /(1024*1024))/(downloadTime /1000);
//...............code
return pageData;
* At this point:
* size contains the amount of data transfered;
* downloadTime contains the amount of Milliseconds it took to download the data
* Average Rate (d/s) = rate

Can anyone tell me why this picture changes color when I try to download/upload it? It is the exact same picture I have taken from the same location. The image on the left is via preview and the image on the right is what is shows like when I try to download it. I have emailed it to myself and it shows fine on the computer and in CS4, but when I look at the download via my phone or on another computer it shows the wonky color on the right. I have checked the color space shows RGB/8 bit. Any ideas why or how to fix it? It isn't with any one specific session.... and I've tried it on both my desktop and my laptop- saved image to an external hard drive and to drop box. I've tried sending the image to canvas on demand, my email, mpxipro, POST editing- all the same result. Please HELP!! What am I doing wrong?
Most of the time you see something like that. The image in question has a color profile other then sRGB. Some image viewers/displayers are color managed and others are not. So the image do not look the same in all of the applications you use. So colors seem to change.
Try converting it to sRGB color and see if then looks the same all around. Also I think PC and Mac displays are set to different gamma something like 1.8 and 2.2
Though I'm colorblind I even see color variations.
