Download using Orbit,DAP etc software in Flex
Hello All,
When we download from the server,default window come and download takes place.
Suppose I have Orbit, DAP etc software ( by this software we download) installed on my machine and then If I download from the server ,it should get downloaded by respective software(Orbit , DAP etc) which is installed on my machine.
How I can achieve this.
I hope, I made my point clear.

The "Airport Software" is already integrated in OSX. SO you dont need to install anything to go wireless.
If you insert one off the supported card's i mentioned above, you can driectly go wireless!

You also don't need any specific software to acces the accespoint, because that is also already integrated in OSX.
When you insert a supported card in your powerbook, your top menu bar will look for example like this:
If you click on , you can select to which accespoint you want to connect. Now you are wireless conected!
This is just how easy it work's! Hopefully this solved your problem.

I am using Aperture 3 now and I love it. But I would like to purchase or download perhaps some freeware, easy to use photo imaging/editing software with more filters, perhaps layering etc. I don't want something with a very steep learning curve, getting to old for that. My Apple mentor suggests Pixelmator or Gimp ? Are there some others out there? When I was still in the Windows world, I used Photoshop Elements but that is now in my past. Any ideas?
Pixelmator or Gimp are both nice tools for advanced image processing and compositing. I.e. Gimp can do pretty much the same as Phtoshop. You might also have a look at digikam http://www.digikam.org/drupal/download/binary
Digikam is not just an advanced image processing and compositing program, it is also content management system like Aperture or iPhoto.
I also find GraphicConverter a nice tool, but it is not free.
If you want your image editing tools to integrate well with Aperture, I would look first at the available plug-ins, start with the plug-ins offered in the Aperture pull-down menu

Windows Support Software Unaviable when trying to download using the assistant
I can't download the Windows 7 support software using the asistant it, the program tells me is a network error, i've read in the forums that you can use the OSX dvds but my macbookpro I bought my macbook this year and it came without any installation DVDs anyone know a workaround to this problem?
For the sake of full disclosure, I skip the Assistant part, I still use Apple drivers.
That makes it easy to clone and use Windows as 100% native as a PC.
NTFS from Paragon supports Windows in its own control panel as Startup Disk and write.
HFS from Paragon improves on AppleHFS to mount and provide read and write support.
Paragon Hard Disk Manager 12 Suite handles Windows 8 management.
Note that with Windows on its own drive you 'boot' from System Reserved partition for Windows, not from your Windows volume. Should be 100MB for 7 and 350MB for 8.
PLEASE, OP, read the guide etc. There are no DVDs for Lion, so it is download only.
There is a link to Boot Camp 4.0 but you really want 4.01+ Shame. Downloads take couple minutes (600MB file, so whatever your broadband can handle). That is the way it should be.
It has been crippled and can't be just a fluke.
I think most would like to download from the AppStore for free or small fee $2.99 if that would work and give you the latest and be done in 10 minutes. -
I have set up our school ipads to be supervised by Apple Configurator and am using VPP to buy apps. I did this initially as our school internet connection was stopping us from being able to update the IOS and our County was offering a managed system, Lightspeed, which took control of every device in school which proved very expensive. I now find the supervised ipads do not allow the pupils to download photos or movies etc. As we frequently use the ipads as cameras this is causing us a problem. We have a school imac that I use to keep the devices updated with Apple Configurator (not connected to our network), and this doesn't seem to offer any solution to download them either. I was told there was a setting in Apple Configurator to allow other computers to download from supervised devices, but I can't see it anywhere. I am very new to this so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated please.
I assume you are wanting to take the photos and movies off the iPads?
Connect the iPad to a Apple computer. Open "Image Capture". Any photos or video can me imported to the desktop or other location on your computer.
I had this same problem last year and as we have no wifi I asked lots of people at Apple what I could do - no one provided this answer (a little unbelievable!). If you have wifi using something like dropbox would be an easier solution.

I have an apple emac powerpc G4 which is running 10.3.9 software. I downloaded the 10.5 leopard software. Does anyone know how to install the 10.5 without using the dvd installer? If your optical drive is broken, you will either need to replace it or get an external. There is no other way.
Why do wish to upgrade? As you can see it is going to be expensive, probably more the Mac is worth.

When I tried to load the latest version of Firefox I received a message telling me that the programs that I use to do down loads from the Internet Speedbit Video Accelerator and Download Accelerator plus (DAP) were not compatible with Firefox yet. Has it been changed?

how do i download files using other downloader (like orbit downloader) instead of firefox downloader itself?

i have orbit downloaderI tried it again, and this time when I resumed it lost about 10Mbytes, so I guess this means that the app store downloader saves its data every 10MBytes.
I will try downloading the whole thing again(XCode4) and just hope that this time I can get the whole download before it decides to wipe out what it has already downloaded. -
This iphone can not be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes
I keep getting the above error everytime I plug in my iphone.
I am not daft, I do have the 64bit version of iTunes installed already. When I installed itunes 10.5 and more recently 10.5.1 I got an error message that rolls back a section of the installation (The updater I think) before finishing off installing iTunes.
After the installation iTunes will work normally apart from when I try to connect a device. At which point I get the title error message and I can not sync my phone.
It's probably down to Itunes not installing properly however no matter what I try I can not sort the problem out. I've tried uninstalling all apple programmes followed by a registry clean, then reinstall. I've tried the same again but in a specific order. I've tried repairing iTunes, repairing the updater etc etc. Nothing seems to work. I'm out of ideas.
Has anybody had this problem? Please can somebody tell me how to fix it!

Yeah, let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunes64Setup.exe installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunes64Setup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunes64Setup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunes64Setup".
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does an iTunes install go through properly now?

I'm not sure if the error message is related but smart friend was using my computer started deleting Quicktime & Safari and told me that they shouldn't be on my computer as they are not windows product & I can't use them on my laptop. With trepidation but acknowledging I don't know any of the stuff they were talking about, I allowed them to raid my laptop thinking it could be for the best. Now I'm not sure if it is related or not but depsite me having the most recent Itunes updates on both my Ipod 4TH GT, I am getting the following message everytime I connect my Ipod to the computer...and the timing would be about right too:

If it helps I am running the 10.7.0.21 on the Sony Vaio & remember checking last week I do have the latest update on the Ipod but it is a different version from the Itunes on the laptop (which may be normal, I wouldn't know) but as I am away from home & Wifi I can't tell u the version on that though.

Sadly I can't find the installer & would love to add my new Mumford & Sons cd to my Ipod collection but don't know how to fix this. I love my Ipod & google but I have spent hours tryign updates, downloads, searches & feedback to Apple. This "smart friend" really sounds like a collosal moron.
Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 to remove and reinstall all Apple products on your computer.
Once you get everything working, the next time your "smart friend" wants to touch your computer, tell them firmly NOT A CHANCE IN ****!
None of your data (media, podcasts, apps) will be affected by removing and reinstalling iTunes. -
How to use a specific windows software on Mac
Hi all,
I have (and love) a new Macbook Air, having switched from years of PC use.
Ran into a hiccup as I do a few hours of teaching a week though a company called Talkbean (http://tutor.talkbean.com/displayEng.do?cmd=siteMain) and they have specific software I have downloaded....which I now find it only compatible with windows.
I've read through other topics and see that using boot camp (and other programs) I could also run windows on my MBA....but I'd prefer not to do that if I can avoidit - I don't need anything else other than this piece of software a few hours a week. Also don't fancy purchasing windows after just forking out for a new laptop!
The likes of Crossover and Virtual box look more appealing, but seem to be aimed at gaming (maybe I'm wrong!) and unsurprisingly the software I need is not on their lists. I'm struggling to figure it out myself. Would one of these programs be suitable for using this piece of software?
Any help at all sooo much appreciated!CrossOver is a program that lets you run some Windows software withhout installing Windows. The emphasis is on some. At their website Crossover rates the supported software on a scale from Bronze to Gold - if the program you need to run is supported at the Gold standard you will probably be okay. Silver and Bronze ratings means the rated Windows software will run but with glitches or even missing functionality. (Silver being better support than Bronze, obviously.)
Virtualization solutions such as VirtualBox (or the more capable and feature laden Parallels Desktop and VMWare Fusion) let you install another operating system (and software) to use at the same time as you use your Mac software. It is a nifty solution and while virtualization isn't quite as fast as running an OS totally native (BootCamp) the speed hit isn't all that significant and affects graphics rendering more than anything else.
I'm an IT instructor and software trainer and about 80% of this work involves Windows software. I do it using a Mac computer running Windows in Parallels Desktop. If it weren't for the Apple logo on my notebook no one would know I'm using a Mac - and the notebook in virtualization feels faster than the cheap Dell computers we use. -
I have 2 macs and 2 PC (Windows 7) laptops in my home wireless network. (The iMac is hardwired via ethernet to the Airport/Time Capsule; the others are wireless connections using Airport). I want to use the hard disk drive in the Time Capsule as a network backup drive for all 4 computers. Is this possible? Could someone help me by telling me how to configure it? I know I will have to use different backup software in the 2 Windows 7 Laptops? Do I need to use the Windows backup software, or can I use a third party program like Acronis True Image? I read of all the things that go wrong restoring Time Machine backups.. particularly stupid things like mail, photo libraries don't go back.. etc. And looking through the incredible number of issues people have here, when their Mac finally takes a dive how hard it is to restore.
I restored a test hard disk from a TC.. and it takes ages and ages to even make up its mind to start.
I worked in computer support for ages, but not Macs.. so my experience is ghost.. ghost images.. on large commercial server setups, can stream restore to multiple computers at once.. even doing it computer by computer the image is simple as network boot to restore. But ghost went the way of Symantec.. sigh!! And was destroyed.

Can backup a Hard disk in just about any format.. yet to try it on a Mac to a TC.. but I will. Boot from CD.. instead of your lost Lion partition which no longer exists (because the hard drive had to be replaced) and the DVD they no longer give you, and restore the entire hard disk in a couple of hours .. to the exact image at the point you made the clone.. in any format, with any partitions.
My bet is that it will kill TM .. but you could be right.
It is just the prospect of all those permission changes, photos and mail libraries etc that worry me.
