Download very slow since moving to BT
Hello,
I am currently on BT unlimited, I switched from Demon because of their FUP. We have an 8mb connection here, which would be used to the maximum speed getting up to around 800-900kbps download speed before switching to BT, now I'm limited to 240kbps, I have spoken to some people and was told to wait 10 days before making a post. Here is my router settings and the BT tester results.
Thank you for any assistance.

Deployment very slow since moving to OWB 10.1.0.4.0 on new server
We recently moved our OWB development from a Windows box running OWB 10.1.0.2.0 client/10.1.0.1.0 repository to a Linux box running OWB 10.1.0.4.0 client & repository. The other change was from using separate schemas for the design and runtime repositories, to a single schema for both repositories.
Overall performance has improved significantly - designing and executing mappings for example. However, deployment of mapping objects is now taking considerably longer - around 5 to 7 minutes for a mapping that took 45 seconds to deploy on the old server. The initial and end stages of the deployement run quickly, but there's a gap of several minutes (with just a blank grey box displayed) between the 'Generation in Progress' and 'Object Compilation' dialogue boxes.
Can anyone suggest what the problem might be, or anything we should be checking?
The new server is an HP ProLiant DL380 G4, with dual Xeon 3.6 GHz processors, 4 Gbytes of RAM, and mirrored 2 x 146 discs. The Oracle files are held on an MSA1000 SAN.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice
ChrisHi
Try to analyze the design and the runtime repository schemas.
In Windows you can set memory for java in the owb client batch file.
Check and modify it if it is exists in Linux too.

Macbook Pro 2010 very slow since Mountain Lion!
Hi!
My Macbook Pro 2010 has become very slow since I installed Mountain Lion. How can I use OS X Lion again?Regardless of whether you think you need it, uninstall it and test to see if the slowness problem is solved.
If it isn't put it back if you must, but there's no point trying to look for another cause till you've eliminated this one. You have a huge amount swaps which is what is causing your slowdown. 90% chance that's your AV software doing that. -
HT1338 Mountain lion download very slow. 10 hours so far
Mountain Lion download very slow. 10 hours so far
It takes awhile. Also, your ISP connection is part of the equation.

itunes app download very slow&iphone
Close and relaunch iTunes.
Reboot the computer.
Power cycle the router/cable modem. -
As per the title, my iPhone is very slow since the update, plus my husband's phone is experiencing the same issues. There is plenty of available space. Hope you can help.
iOS 6 works just fine on my 4S and everyone else's that I know.
What have you done to troubleshoot your issue?
Have you taken the basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the iPhone User guide? -
My computer has been getting the pin wheel and moving very slow since the i downloaded yosemite
Whenever i have a video playing from my internet browser it causes my computer to pin wheel and go into thinking mode with all of my apps that are open. It moves very slow and i have to force quit everything and reboot my computer to make it act normal. this all started after the software update. Any suggestions>
Mine has been moving extremely slow, too. I had a problem downloading and installing Yosemite and after many conversations with Apple Care, the solution was to remove the 3rd party RAM I had just installed prior to the upgrade. That solved the download/install problem, but now it's slow as anything. I opened my activity monitor and sure enough, the memory pressure is at full load so I have to install more memory. The trick is to make sure it's truly compatible.
Have you checked your activity monitor's memory report? -
10.5.8 & Page loading...now VERY slow since upgrade
I'm continuing to fight a very slow pageload problem since upgrading to 5.8. It appears to be a DNS like problem. Ping times to both my router and known servers on the Internet are fine, 72ms for pings across a set of routers, that traceroute fine. However, all pages on my browsers, whether Safari or Firefox are now much slower than before the upgrade. I now routinely wait 15 to 20 seconds to load pages that take Vista only a few seconds to load. To be clear, my Vista computers are fine. No load problems at all. Everything else seems to be normal.
As a test, I ran the Speakeasy Speed test on my connection, download of 1335 kbps, 745 kbps up. So the bandwidth seems to be there, per usual. It's the same on my Vista machines.
I looked on the board, and couldn't find any similar issues. Anyone seen this? Is a reinstall the only way back? Or is this something that is DNS oriented? I show my router xxx.xxx.xxx.1 as my DNS pointer in Airport.
Other ideas:
- Related to IPV6?
-Related to the AirPort Extreme card or it's 1.4.16.2 firmware?
- Firewall at this point is allowing all incoming connections.
Thanks in advance...Same type problem. Starting two weeks ago, it is taking between 15 and 20 seconds to load any page, even my google homepage. Same with Safari and Firefox. Reset browser, cleaned out all cookies and cache, dumped and reloaded browser. Speed test shows connection speed to 5.8 mbps on a nominal 6mbps connection, so that's not the problem. Disconnected power and reset modem twice.

contact apple support to see what is going on -- there have been complaints about Icloud servers and mail - so hazarding a guess that they have a problem somewhere between you and them. Weather (storms) can cause an internet connection to be slow - or have to be rerouted in the system causing a traffic jam somewhere along the line. Generally - in the US I check the national weather service map and if there are storms in certain areas I give it up for the day as its just not going to connect. -
G4 Powerbook VERY slow since update
I've been using Macs for many, many years and this one is just BIZARRE.
I updated software this morning on my G4 Powerbook. The updates included the latest iTunes (7.4.2) and a compatibility update for QuickTime 7.2. During the update, my machine got VERY slow. Simple things like opening my documents folder took a minute or two (accompanied by the famous Apple Beach Ball). I had Safari, Graphic Converter and Software Update running, so I figured I was just taking on too many tasks at once. It took nearly fifteen minutes to quit Safari and GC and allow the update to run without competing for RAM or processor capacity. Eventually, SU finished, but it failed to update iTunes.
Rebooting my computer took more than 45 minutes. Here is what I've tried since then to "unclog" my system:
1. Checked HD space. I've used about 65% of my 80GB HD. Nowhere near empty, but should not cause the problems I'm experiencing.
2. Launched Activity Monitor to see what's going on. Both RAM and Processor graphs fluctuated in the 25% used area. Plenty of capacity there. Also checked processes running to see if something undesirable was running in the background. No clue there, either.
3. Launched Disk Utility and repaired permissions. Also launched Terminal and performed periodic daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, as well as updated prebindings. No noticable change there.
My computer DOES still work. It just runs EXTREMELY slow motion. I've never seen anything like it. Right now, I'm trying to get the Powerbook to launch as the Firewire Target Disk on my G4 iMac. If that works, I can perform a sync in preparation to re-install the OS (I have the two machines synced already, but it's been a couple of weeks since the last one). Also, after the sync, I can try to run some diagnostics on the Powerbook from the iMac. However, rebooting in Target Disk mode has taken more than 2 hours so far. It's not locked up (still have the spinning startup circle on the blue backgroound) but I'm not getting anywhere fast.
Anyway, I'm kind of at a loss here. Does anyone know what might cause this sort of bizarre behavior in my mac? Would love to know how I can fix it.My dad's laptop has the same problem. It takes 4 minutes to start it up. Then he gets the spinning beach ball a lot. The balls shows up when he types on the ichat or looking on the internet. I don't have all the symptoms since he is in Canada and I'm in Florida. I made him do the REPAIR PERMISSIONS and it didn't change anything.
I would like to know about the BATTERY comment?? What does a BATTERY has to do with slowing down? I am not implying that it's wrong, I just don't understand it and I am curious about it.
The laptop is about 4-5 years old and if there is a connection between SLOW and BATTERY I would like to know more. -
Macbook Pro running VERY slow since Yosemite, why?
Ever since I installed Yosemite my Macbook Pro 2010 has been extremely laggy and slow. It's especially noticeable with several applications running but even without, it is very slow to respond to commands.
What's the problem and how do I fix it?
ThanksHere are a few lines from the log messages, I double clicked on a music file which launches iTunes, the problem was at its worst while doing this:

Is there a fix for Mail running very slow since upgrade to 10.8
Mail is running extremely slow since upgrade. Open New Message window (or auto link to new email from another applicatin), click on outgoing email address field and begin to type. Takes 15-30 secods per letter in the address to populate the field. Click SEND and it takes up to 2 minutes to send... another 3 minutes to show up in SENT mailbox. Sometimes completely chokes and have to Force Quit. Have already run Disk Utility (Permissions and Directory Corruption Diagnostics and Repair), have Rebuilt the Mailboxes, have reinstalled OS 10.8 from Recovery partition. IT IS STILL CHOKING, HANGING, AND NOT FUNCTIONING NORMALLY. Any Ideas ??? Please help!
I have my 'Check for New Messages' set to 'Manually'. This is a problem with setting up a New Message to send out. I did go into settings under Composing Tab and unchecked "Automatically Complete Addresses". This has resolved the issue of the spinning beachball when attempting to enter an email address into the "To:" field. So, it is running at normal speed now, but I suspect there s a bug related to that setting... something that is causing a very slow background search through existing address book directory for recognizable email addresses to 'auto fill' in that field. I have already trashed preferences for both Mail and Address Book and that did not resolve the issue, so it must be something else. I can live without Auto Complete. Thanks for the input!

Macbook Pro VERY SLOW since mavericks! Please Help!
My Macbook pro is a late 2012 model, 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 with 4GB ram
Ever since upgrading to mavericks, it has slowed down immensely! It was never this slow or buggy with Mountain lion
It takes a good 2 minutes to load mail, finder is very buggy - it will take a good minute to load a photo - which was not normal
I also run Adobe CC design software - and it is very very slow
Safari is extremely slow and buggy, and sometimes shows screens as below:
I was going to upgrade to 2x8GB ram which will be 16GB of ram - will this solve the problem?
Should i upgrade to yosemite? will these problems be fixed please?
I have tried asking the Apple Outlet here in Malta but they are of no help at all, don't know where else to ask!My Macbook pro is a late 2012 model, 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 with 4GB ram

It's looking like the phone company is going to split our area code in the next year or two. This is because there are not enough numbers left, so there's a good chance that one part of the geographical area using the current area code will be assig
