Download videos and music that I have alreay purchased?

My hard drive crashed a few months ago, and along with it sent a few seasons of tv shows, except the one season of Spongebob currently on our ipod. How can I "redownload" the music and TV seasons that I have already paid for? When I navigate to the various TV seasons that I purchased, it wants me to buy them again. Is there any way to download them without repurchasing?

Whilst i concur with the comment about people being amazed about others not having a "backup plan" in my defence and particular case i thought having a $600 NAS fitted with 8Tb of HDD storage and which was apparently self monitoring and capable of transferring data from a failing HDD and restoring it to a replacement would cover me for problems. Apparently Not!!!!!
Be aware DROBO users, these units apparently protect you from data loss due to HDD failures but are still prone to data corruption caused by various reasons. ( latest one according to DROBO support is if you use USB to connect on a mac (i don't), apparently DROBO & Macs do not like talking via USB......strangely enough these problems not listed on DROBO site where you purchase them!!! ).
DROBO also, (since complaining to them ), have advised having a second form of backup!!! This goes back to my previous comment about how many back ups should you have to use? Once your data reaches 3Tb it starts getting hard to split it over several drives ( only seen 2Tb HDD ).
I must admit i did not know about iTunes getting charged for each download, is this not the same for Apps then?
But surely, as an electronic download it is a slightly different situation and therefore cannot be compared to buying a physical CD which, i agree, you would not expect the store to replace a lost or damaged cd.
Ah well i guess i'll be filling 2Tb drives after all
rgds to all for input and info.

  • How can i remove videos and music that are not on my ipad mini but are still taking up space and are showing that they are there even after i've deleted them?

how can i remove videos and music that have been deleted from the ipad but are still showing in settings as still being on the ipad?

I believe that I have the same issue with iPad Mini with Retina Display, iOS 8.1. No matter which way I delete videos from my iPad, they will still show as "deleted", yet the space is not cleared up. I tried restore and then a full restore (clean setup as a new iPad) and it still does this to me. I can solve it by doing a restore each and every time I download a video and delete it. Rather frustrating. Has been a problem since day 1 of iOS 8. I'm yet to try the power+home button reset. It may very well work, but I am surprised that a "fresh setup" of an iPad didn't resolve it from ever occurring.

  • Downloading Videos and Music

I understand that in order to download videos and music I should buy a Micro SD card. I bought Blackberry for Dummies ( I certainly qualify) and saw that I should by a 1G or 2G card. When I went looking, I came across an 8G card. Will my 8310 accomodate a card of this size, and will I need an adaptor for it?
Also, I live in and bought my Blackberry in the Dominican Republic. When I went to the download page the DR is  not listed, as it is also not listed in the registration form for this site.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Depending on what OS your BlackBerry is tells you what size microSD card you can buy. You can check under Options | About (will be listed as v4.xx.xxx). Look at the chart at the following link to see what size you can obtain - http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05461

  • Can i download music that i have previously purchased/downloaded?

can i download music that i have previously purchased/downloaded? I paid and downloaded an album then my computer died. I have now lost that album.

If you are in the US then yes, you can re-download past music purchases (assuming that they are still available in the store). If you are not in the US then have you not got a backup anywhere of your music purchases ?

You can do it with Leopard but it depends upon the iTunes version which you did not reveal.  Also make sure you are looking in the right place for purchases.
Consider buying a backup drive so you do not need to do this again.  If you are going to run old hardware and software you need to live differently because yes, at some time you will find your version of iTunes no longer works.  You're lucky it still works with Leopard.  As you can see, some versions still work with the iTunes Store but not for repeat downloading.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability by country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple recommends,  "... back up your iTunes library. " (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).
    Additional tip at https://discussions.apple.com/message/24176756#24176756
Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes if you have the sidebar displayed, or with the button at the top right.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links (see https://discussions.apple.com/message/26364186#26364186)
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • How do you download tones and music that you,ve purchased to your new up grade phone

how do you downlaod tones and music that you've already purched to your new phone that you just up graded too and if you reported a problem to i tunes what do you do next.
i've checked the itunes purchase history and before i got the new phone i backed my phone to my computer, so what do i need to do next to recover my lost itune purchases

Purchases from iTunes should be in the iTunes library on your computer, simply connect the device and sync the content you want.
If for some silly reason you choose to not use the device as designed, simply go to the iTunes store app on the device and download the content directly there.
I'd strongly recommend that you take a look at the User's Guide, that will answer many of your questions about how to use the device.

  • Why do I have to redownload music that I have already purchased

    HELP PLEASE!
I am finding it increasingly frustrating that I am not able to listen to music I have purchased. My albums are showing up split on my music app in random orders and some songs, yet again are randomly missing showing the iCloud symbol. I purchase music for the intention of listening to it then and there not for iTunes to decide what I can and cannot listen too. If I have no internet, I cannot listen to the song.
    Please help.
    Many thanks

I just want to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Make sure you back up your computer before installing any updates.
Installing an update should not delete files but from reports here it happens occasionally.  We don't know why and given that probably only a very few people lose their libraries through updating versus millions of updates it is something you simply have to prepare against.  I am not even sure what happened in your case because thgis presence of some files doesn't match anything I can think would happen.

  • I preordered a movie a while ago and received an email with the confirmation but now that it is available to everyone i can't seem to download it, it says that i have to purchase it again even though i already payed. HELP MEEEE PLEASE

    help

You are sure that you've paid for it, it's been deducted from your payment method e.g. account's balance or credit card ? Pre-orders aren't paid-for when you pre-order them, you are charged when they are released and you download them - at any time up until that point you could cancel the pre-order, so you can't be charged until then.

  • Do i have to pay for music that i have already purchased

i recently had to get a new iphone, lost 254 songs on my ipod, to get those back, can i just download them from my purchased itune file for free?

And if you're not in the US, then (probably due to license issues yet to be worked out in other countries) officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications and iBooks. It's your responsibility to make backup copies (as iTunes itself advises) in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
For apps, look here for instructions on redownloading.  For songs, movies, and videos, if your computer's hard drive was erased and/or you don't have a backup of your purchased items, either on external media or another computer and don't have them on an iOS device (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad), you may be out of luck and will need to repurchase your content.
If you have your content backed up or on another iOS device, post back and someone here can help you get your items restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
    Regards.

  • HT1727 Hello,  I have a new computer as my other computer is not working.  How can I access all of the music that I have previously purchased?

My song titles are all there but my new computer cannot access the song content. Is there a way to access my music?

Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer.  You do maintain a backup of your media and other important data, correct?

Whatever you read about iTunes is wrong unless you're actually referring to feature movies, not videos. Videos, apps, music and iBooks you can re-download:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
Download to your computer and then sync to your iPod touch whatever will fit.
And no, I can't say with certainty that they won't give you a refund, but it's unlikely. The most probable outcome, if you do indeed mean movies, not TV shows or other videos, is that they would set up an additional download. For other content they'll probably just direct you to the same instructions on re-downloading I just posted.

I just downloaded iTunes on my new PC and all the music that I have purchased through ITunes that was backed up on the cloud won't play. It is telling me I must authorize this computer before it can play pre purchased music. how do I authorize my computer to play this music?
    Thank you for any assistance.

Tigon's already got you covered here. But I'll chime in with some English localisation advice.
There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

I gave my old MacBook Pro away and no longer have access to it. I didn't think to deauthorize it first. I DO NOT want it to have access to all music in my iCloud or any music that may have been downloaded sinceI gave away the computer. It now belongs to my teenage daughter, who has since been in my WI-FI area and knows that code. I had EVERYTHING removed from the computer before I gave it to her (long story), but since I hadn't deauthorized the Mac,I'm assuming even without the itunes password the iCloud material would had loaded onto her computer. My iCloud had somehow included personal voice mails under Unknown Artist that I did not want on there or shared. How can I deauthorize the Mac Laptop without having the machine available to do it on? Change the iTunes/iCloud password? I should now have my desktop computer, new PC (Aspire) laptop,Ipod Touch, and if possible my Evo 3D as well as my boyfriend's Samsung smartphone being able to access the iCloud account/library--whatever it is called. HELP

Thanks, I appreciate the help.  I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.
