Download Viewer shows no activity

Hey Everyone,
I'm having a nettlesome little problem that I was hoping someone out there could help me solve. I'm on 10.3.9 and running Safari version 1.3.1. Within the last few days my download viewer has stopped recording the downloads of photos and graphics I grab from various websites. In the past I could drag and drop the image onto my desktop triggering the requiste activity in the viewer. It will still record the downloading of a file if I visit a site that calls on me to press a "download" button. Only the drag and drop aspect no longer shows up in the viewer. Everything downloads fine so that isn't a problem but it just bugs me that I can no longer see the file sizes of the downloads nor the estimated time for the download to complete.
I should also add that within the last week I re-installed my operating system software, and all my programs (of which there are but a few) and as part of that process upgraded to all the latest versions of all Apple software available to me under 10.3.9. After all this was done the download viewer peformed normally up until yesterday. Any insight into may be culprit would be appreciated.

No apologies necessary. I tried what you suggested and when I drag a image to the Downloads window it does indeed record the progress of the download. Two things though. When I do that the image downloads with a "html" file suffix. As you know this means that when I go to open it it will open within a browser window. But when I drag a image straight to my desktop it will appear there with the proper file annotation...generally "jpg"
Secondly, and in answer to your question, the window was definitely behaving "normal" up until yesterday. Which is to say any drag and drop download showed up in the viewer. Them the gremlins took over. As an aside, I am remembering I did download and install a couple things yesterday...the AOL Instant Messenger installer for my daughter and a 200 meg quicktime movie...which by the way didn't open.
Following both of these events I did verify and repair the permissions. Don't know if this helps at all but again, I do appreciate your help.

Click on your preference and check the Parental tab for possible restrictions. Open iTunes, then click the iTunes menu, select preferences after the window opens click on the Parental icon, take a look at the content restrictions section.

Why doesn't Activation Request View show the request(s)?

Once in a while the Activation Requests View in Netweaver Studio won't show my Activation Requests. It just shows a highlighted rectangle in the Request ID column and nothing in the Activation Status and Deployment Status columns.
In at least one case, I was able to fix it by closing the view and then opening it again but that's no longer working.
I'm using Netweaver 2004s sp9.

I still don't know what exactly causes this but I've found that sometimes just exiting Studio and coming back in takes care of it.
If I restart the computer, it definitely goes away.
Anyone know if there is a patch for this?

Having trouble viewing downloaded tv show...

I recently purchased Season 1 of Prison Break on my reasonably new PC w/ Vista and fully up to date iTunes, however after completely downloading these shows I am unable to view them. They are really, really choppy and pretty much impossible to watch. I have downloaded some other media viewers such as DIVX and VLC, but that hasn't worked either. Any suggestions?

Does calendar month view show times

I'm sure I'm not going crazy but I could have sworn that, until late last night, my iPad 2's calendar when in month view showed event times. Similar to what you see when you check the "show times in month view" box when in iCal. I am pretty sure that that function was on my iPad 2 prior to my downloading iTunes 10.3.1 beta because I keep my iPad near the kitchen phone so that we can 'check the calendar.' Now it is not there. The folks at MME support didn't have an iPad to check and they suggested that I go to a local Apple store and see if the ones in the store had this function. I did and they did not.
I spoke with a genius at the Apple Store and he couldn't verify whether that was ever a function of iOS on the iPad. I did tell him that my iPad had been having some strange things happen on the display when I activated the calendar on the iPad. Events would appear, disappear, then reappear sort of in an wave. I am not sure as to the timing of this as to whether it was pre iTunes 10.3.1 beta or after I installed it.
HELP! Was I just seeing things? Or was it there and now gone?

I did remove any events that span midnight and it did not help.
I looked at the DbFixit program. Since it corrects problems in the Palm and not in Palm Desktop I believe it is not relevant. The reason I belive the palm device is not involved is because of the following test:
I removed all previous Palm Desktop versions
I removed all registery entries for both Palm, PalmOne, and the USB (as specified by a chat session with Palm)
I removed all data directories including \Program Files\PalmOne, \Program Files\Palm, and \Palm
I removed all instances of data in the Documents directory
I did a cold boot of the computer
then...
I did a fresh install of Palm Desktop
I typed in a year's worth of data
I did not sync or otherwise connect a palm to the system
I selected month view
The system crashed!
I believe this takes the Palm device completely out of the loop. This problem occurs when typing data in Palm Desktop from the keyboard.
I appreciate any ideas, and will follow up on them.

Since no Palm was involved, the corruption must have occured in the Palm Desktop program itself.

HT204406 I can't seem to download songs from iTumes Match on my new iPhone 5. It still works fine on my iPad. Both are running ios6 and there is plenty of free space on the phone (20 GB or so). The download icon shows & flashes but nothing happens.

I am trying to play songs from iTunes Match on my phone everything is enabled. The songs and playlists show up but when I select one it won't download or play. The download status icon next to the song name flashes on and off but nothing happens. When I go to the iTunes Store the download section shows the same behavior - it flashes that there is 1 download continuously but nothing downloads. My iPad on the same network also running ios6 works fine. Any ideas?

Problem closed (although not resolved). After working with Apple support, no resolution was found. I asked for a refund of the iTunes match purchase price, which was granted. Interestingly the support tech, who was very nice if not particularly helpful from a technical point of view, spun the "resolution" of refunding my iTunes match purchase price as a positive one, here is a quote from the final email
"I'm glad to hear that you're not having issues with the songs you've purchased. Nothing makes Apple happier than to hear that our customers concerns have been rectified."
It is notable that I never had an issue downloading music directly purchased thru the iTunes store, the only issue that existed was downloading songs that I ripped from my CD collection and "matched".
I'm happy that I received my money back, however I wish that the iTunes Match service worked for me (I was looking forward to this service). I'm most upset at the time I wasted trying to fix this problem.
I'll now download music the old fashioned way: syncing with iTunes directly.

I keep getting error 8003 when I try to download tv shows on itunes...how do I solve it?

Help...I keep getting Error 8003 when I try to download TV shows I've bought on itunes. It says to check I have an active connection. I do! I can watch iView and SBS on demand with no problems. I had the connection checked by a technician.
What can I do?

View All Incidents Active on Specific Date Data Warehouse

I'm looking to find out if it is possible to view all incidents active on a specific date within the data warehouse. Obviously there is the created, resolved and closed dates however that doesn't present the correct information as filtering on the created
by date with a specific date only shows incidents created on that specific date.
What I am interested in is how many active incidents did I have at the time of the data warehouse processing and how I would go about that. Obviously it is possible to get this off the live database but it would be good to get this out of the data warehouse.

Actually turns out the reason why none of the data was making sense was that the data in the cube was completely wrong. Despite the dwdatamart incidentdimvw showing the correct information the cube was out by a long way (cube said over 5000 active incidents
where as dwdatamart had 17) so i'm guessing there was a problem in processing somewhere along the line. Not quite sure what would cause the cube to be so inaccurate though which is perhaps more concerning.

Viewer shows clip that's not on timeline

I have a very strange problem, which might have an easy solution, as my knowledge of FCP has gaping holes in it.. I'm editing a clip, using 2 video-tracks and 2 audiotracks to fade and overlap and stuff. In the middle of a (uncut) stretch of video, the viewer shows me a small part of video that's way before that, chronologically, and shouldn't be there at all. When I stop playing, the viewer shows the image that should be there again. When I scrub through the stretch of video, it all looks normal. When I play it again, the 'wrong' piee of video comes up again. There's no material on my second video track, and I've tried moving the stretch of video in which it occurs: same problem at the same spot. It looks like the second piece of video is stuck underneath the first and moves with it, or something. Unfortunately (and logically) the piece of wrong video shows up in the exported movie as well. Does anyone have a solution? Oh, to make things easier, I'm still using 6...

First, what format are your clips and what are your sequence settings?
Does this section require rendering? If so, is it rendered? If so, toggle on and off the clip (control-b) to see if that fixes things.
could be a corrupt sequence. Create a new sequence with the same settings, make the old timeline active, select all (command-a), copy (command-c), Make the new sequence active and paste (command-v).

If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.
Post a crash report so we can try and help you. Make sure and include the "binary images" section.

How comes the audio files I download off a friends music page suddenly downloading as download.view and are unusable?

I have been downloading my friends music on madsonic using safari and it always work fine. Recently the downloads are showing as download.view and are inaccessible. Why?

Since the rights are forfeited by the person uploading the video, YouTube is public domain and is downloadable at will. Naturally, some of the content may be copyrighted material that the user has warranted as his/her own so the end responsibility is the downloader's and he/she may be liable if publishing the content. A note: even copyrighted material may be used by a non-profit without prejudice - but, think before you use... if it is used on a site where advertising has been sold to benefit the non-profit (or even a list of donating companies exists on the site), the content could be thought of as benefitting a for-profit agency and therefore would become an illegal use of the material.
There are several sources for public domain soundbites online and some of them filter the content, but most rely on users' honesty.
As stated in a previous reply, if you are unsure, contact the producing entity to either purchase rights or recieve permission to use.
For legal downloading of public domain .wav files it is a simple enough proposition to purchase a widely available appropriate program.

I downloaded tv shows from the itunes store but they wont play. itunes closes and it says its encountered a problem.

Open your QuickTime control panel (either via the Control panels, or by going "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences" in the Quicktime Player). In the Advanced tab, uncheck Enable Direct3D video acceleration:

Quit the QuickTime Player if you have it open. Restart the PC and try watching the videos in iTunes again. Do they play now?
