Download was unsuccessful (market apps) 2.2 android version

Have 2 motorola droids - on both since the 2.2 upgrade I am getting the above error message every time I attempt to download market apps. Any ideas welcomed. Thank you.

You might want to try clearing the Market cache too.
Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Select "All" in the top toolbar > Market > Clear cache
That's helped me in the past anytime the Market app started acting flaky.

Yesterday, I purchased Mountain Lion OSX and tried to download it but I don't think the download worked.  How can I tell if I am using Mountain Lion and how do I get help if the download was unsuccessful?

Click your Apple menu icon top left corner of your screen.
From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
If Mountain Lion is installed, it will say:  v10.8
If not, launch the App Store. From the App Store menu bar click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
FYI ..  for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

  • Paid for OS Lion, but download was unsuccessful

I paid for and waited patiently for 2 hours for OS Lion to download. However, I eventually got nothing more than an error message telling me that the application download was unsuccessful and needed to be repeated. For the life of me, I can't find a way to re-attempt the download. The Mac App Store is convinced that the download was successful (why, have no idea), now has the product listed as "installed" (which means I can't re-download it) and I even have a auto-generated receipt to say that yes, I will be charged.
Anyone got an easy answer (and yes, I followed the download instructions exactly as instructed).
    Many thanks

  • I downloaded the latest update from the Apps store and it won't work.  I cannot download anothe rbecause the Apps store reads this version installed. What to do?  What to dooooo?

What a pain in the *** this whole process is too.  I might as well just delete the freakin' program from the computer and rack it up to nonsense on the Apple end of things. To **** with you.  Support ***! Bah! 20 minutes into this process and I have to type and retype over something you suggested I do.  Next time I'll take your suggestions with a grain of salt . • Updates for my apps from the Android Market get stuck on the download often.

Its as if they are perpetually downloading or installing. It happens at least a couple of times a week.

I think it's a problem with the market app that is installed. they need to update their market version.
Using a different rom, and market works fine. I'll leave it at that.

  • IdeaPad's Android Market App Isn't Certified

Renamed Post: -- (Interesting Reply from Google Regarding the Lenovo IdeaPad)
I inquired about support for movies through the market app on the IdeaPad... here's their reply, which really seems odd to me... is this an "unlicensed" Andriod device?
    Hi,
Thanks for writing in. According to our records, the device that you are using is not supported for use with Android Market at this time.
The Android operating system is open source, which means that any device manufacturer is free to use Android on its devices. However, Android Market is an application created by Google that is only made available to devices that pass Google’s compatibility requirements. In addition, manufacturers must obtain a license from Google in order to install Android Market on their devices.
For more information about the Android Compatibility Program, please visit http://source.android.com/compatibility/index.html
If you have any further questions, I recommend contacting the manufacturer of your device directly. If I can assist you further, please let me know.

And the saga continues... Here's my most recent email to them:

And the reply I received, which reads to me to say that the Market app that is on the K1 isn't one that Google provides to certified devices:
    Hey,
Thanks for writing in. Your Lenovo device is definitely Android certified.
However, Lenovo has chosen not to provide Android Market on its devices.
Instead, they have included their own app market. This is the reason your
table is not supported by Android Market.
Without Android Market support, the Videos app will not be available. You
may be able to view movies from Android Market by streaming to your
device, but please note that features made to improve the quality of your
experience will not be available, including the ability to download the
movie to your device to prevent buffering issues.
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

OK, so how do we get the "official" market app?

  • Can't install on my samsung vibrant because of "content rating filter" even after I have allowed for install of non-market apps. Firefox website says incompatible as well and my android platform is a version above.

I have a samsung vibrant phone. I am running android eclair, I think its 2.1. I was trying to instal firefox. Linking from the web to the android market, I get "app not found msg." To link from the web, I changed my phone setting to allow apps from non-market sources. When I visit the firefox web page for android I get an "app not compatible with phone" msg. same msg for both regular and beta, but my phone is listed in the compatible phones list. Upon trying to install anyway, I get an "incompatible with content filter settings" msg. What does all of this mean and how can I change it?

"Content filter" is the Android Market's method for restricting certain applications that may provide access to "mature" content. You can disable content filtering in the settings of the Market app on your phone.

  • I was getting an app in the store and finished all the logins/confirmations and such, and then this "download now" button comes up that i can't click, and now everytime i open app store this unclickable button is there and i can't get it to go away

    Hi
i was getting an app in the app store and did all the logins and confirmations and stuff, and when that was done a thing pops up in the middle of the screen that said "download now" and an OK button, but i can't click it.. and not anywhere else, so i can't use the app store for anything else until this thing is gone, so anyone know how to fix this?

If you Go to the app store on your phone, then go to updates you should have a purchased icon at the top.
Click on that and it will show the apps you have downloaded before as they are stored on the icloud.
Then you should be able to click on the app and redownload it, not sure if it will charge but its worth a try.

I cannot to download from the mac app store (There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (20))
I traied to remove cookies and still don't working.

Regretably, none of the above solutions has resolved this problem for me.
Whenever I try to perform updates (in my case, Xcode and iPhoto both want to update), I receive the following error:
    An error occurred during purchase.
(of course, I am not trying to purchase anything, it is a free update)
If I press Retry, the above repeats until I press Cancel, then I see:
We could not complete your request.
There was an error in the App Store.  Please try again later.  (20)
I have been "trying again later" for three weeks now, with no resolution in sight.
