Download webpage archive - no images + layout lost

Dear Apple and Safari forum,
I love working with Safari, no popups, tabbed browsing, nice look etc., but without being able to download a webpage archive with all its content, including images, original HTML layout etc., it is all but useless to me.
I am using Safari 1.3.2 on an iMac G3 Snow, 56k dalup, 640Mb ram, 30gig HD and OSX Panther 10.3.9
There are no options in Safari 1.3.2 for inc images or links in a webpage download. Dragging images to the desktop is NOT a viable option.
I can't install Safari 2 because it requires Tiger, and even then it may not solve my problem.
Using I.E. does solve my problem - full web archive with original layout including active links to a depth of 5 if neccessary.
Being a devoted Apple/Mac user for 25 years, I'd prefer to use Safari.
Is there a fix for this?
Barrie

Use "Report Bugs to Apple" under the Safari menu to send feedback to Apple - there is no guarantee that anyone from Apple will see your post in this user-to-user discussion forum.
A web-archive feature was added to Safari 2 which is only available for OS X 10.4.x. The web archive can only be read by Safari 2.x.
You can use either Firefox or Camino, both of which can save a web page as a standard html file (which can be read by any browser) with a folder containing all the images.
There are utilities listed on VersionTracker that will let you download web sites up to a number of layers deep.

  • How do I save a downloaded webpage as a jpeq image to manipulate in photoshop elements

    I would like to save a downloaded webpage (html file) as a jpeg so that I can edit it in photoshop elements.   How do I do that?

    I’m still at a loss.   I loaded it in my browser and pressed Print Scrn, but not sure what to do next.   I opened up Photoshop Elements and pressed CtrlV but nothing seems to happen; no image appears on the screen or in the the photo bin---so there is no image to edit.   Maybe I’m not sure what you mean by PSE editor .   Do you mean by PSE editor, just the main screen in ‘Expert Mode,’ which is what I generally use?   In other words, do you just put the curser to the screen and press CtrlV.
    Could you clarify?   Am I missing some crucial point in your instruction?
    Thanks for your response.

  • Download Solaris 9 ISO image

    hi,
    Does somebody know where I can download Solaris 9 ISO images?
    BR
    Marcel

    Solaris 9 is no longer available as a free download.
    Older releases of Solaris 10 are no longer available as free downloads, either.
    If you want it directly from the company, your only recourse is if you happen to have any support contract credentials with Oracle. You could then log a Support Request (S.R.) that asks for the company to send you the software on CD media. They would pull it out from their internal archives and eventually get it to you.
    I can think of another alternative, but it's not a free alternative:
    You can haunt your favorite online auction web site (for example, eBay) and purchase a full original media kit of CD's and manuals. As I type this, there are a few such kits avaiable at eBay, various Sol9 releases, both for SPARC and for x86.

  • Can I use Java to download webpages from the internet?

    I need to be able to download webpages from different servers, search the webpage for certain data, save that data to disk and manipulate that data to create complimentary data to save as well. An example of what I need to download is at
    http://www.gamestop.com/search.asp?keyword=final+fantasy&lookin=title&platform=var&genre=0&searchtype=adv&sortby=title
    I want to do the same thing programmatically as when I point my IE browser at the page and "Save As..." the page to disk.
    Does the JDK 1.2 have all the tools I need to get a connection to this URL and download the webpage there? If so, could you tell me what packages to look in or point me to some good docs?
    I'm desparate, so please help!

    Okay, I got that to work on another webpage, but on the webpage i specified on the previous post gave me the wrong web page, one that state that "cookies" aren't enable and the website cannot work without cookies. Is there any way to programmatically enable cookies?
    Here's what I got so far...
    import java.net.*;
    import java.io.*;
    class Test
    public static void main(String args[])
    try
    // this URL works...
    URL sourceURL = new URL
    ("http://www.gamedude.com/textonly.html");
    // but this url requires cookies to work...
    /*URL sourceURL = new URL("http://www.gamestop.com/search.asp?keyword=final+fantasy&lookin=title&platform=0&genre=0&searchtype=adv&sortby=title");*/
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(
    new InputStreamReader(
    sourceURL.openStream()));
    PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(
    new BufferedWriter(
    new FileWriter(
    new File("C:/page.html"))));
    String buffer;
    while (!(null == (buffer = in.readLine())))
    out.println(buffer);
    in.close();
    out.close();
    catch (MalformedURLException e)
    System.out.println("Bad URL:\n" + e);
    catch (IOException e)
    System.out.println("File error:\n" + e);

  • How do I update Lightroom 4.4 to download canon g16 raw images?

    How do I update Lightroom 4.4 to download canon g16 raw images from my camera?

    You cannot read your G16 native raw files with any version of LR 4 so there’s no information, here, about paying to update from LR4 to LR 4.4.  You need LR 5.2 to read G16 raw files natively.  LR 4.x to LR 5.x is a pay-for upgrade.
    Alternatively you can use the DNG Converter 8.2 or newer to convert the G16 raw files to DNG raw files and those will work in your older LR 4 version.
    Adobe updates whatever the current version is with new cameras, so once LR 5 came out LR 4.x ceased to be updated for new cameras.

  • Download stopped midway and is now lost, how do I get it back?

    I had a Digital Copy of the Hunger Games that I had redeemed and was downloading. It got down to 12 minutes from being finished (after probably around 4 hrs) and then iTunes froze and had to be shut down. This caused me to lose the download and I can no longer redeem my code. How can I get my download back???

    You lost the apps?
    If so, which Office version was installed?
    If not 2008 or later, the previous Office versions are not compatible with Lion.

  • Use Tables for Image Layout?

    I'm in the process of learning HTML and putting together some
    sites. The book I'm reading is several years old but is very
    thorough. It suggests taking slices from a page mockup in PS/IR,
    optimizing (saving only the images, not code), then re-assembling
    it by writing the code that puts it all together in tables.
    Is this an outdated/"bad" way to accomplish this? If so, what
    is the "best"/recommended way for slice-based graphic layout? Keep
    in mind I'd like to us image maps later to create links and
    rollovers.
    Thanks!

    I'm not a fan of sliced-image layouts, but yes, that's just
    the way I'd do
    it. I'd slice the page mockup myself and then place it into a
    table with the
    right number of rows and columns with as minimal and clean
    HTML as
    possible.

  • Where can I download an archived version of Premiere CS6?

    I've been using Premiere for a couple months now, and I'm in the middle of a project and I uninstalled Premiere CS6 to install the new CC version, but what I didn't know is that Encore was not included in the new CC version, and I still need that for this project. I know by the Creative Cloud FAQ that it is possible to download an archived version of CS6 products, but I have been unable to find that archive anywhere. Please help.

  • Downloading and taking RAW Images

    ok so i picked up a nikon d7000 a couple months ago and i just picked up lightroom but it seems when i download my friends RAW images and take my own i cant view them or bring them into lightroom so could someone help me on this?

    Your version of Lightroom probably doesn't support the D7000. Download 3.6 and install that. It's a free upgrade from whatever LR3.x  you're using.

  • Image from PNG is not fully downloaded and part of Image is black

    Hi,
    I have quite slow Internet connection (sth like 3kB/s). In my application I create ImageIcon (and then Image from it) from an URL.
    Sometimes when I download quite big PNG images (sth like 400 kB) the download process made by internal JVM methods breaks up. All my methods finish properly, but suddenly I get an error:
    java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException
         at java.lang.System.arraycopy(Native Method)
         at sun.awt.image.PNGFilterInputStream.read(PNGImageDecoder.java:830)

         at sun.awt.image.ImageFetcher.run(ImageFetcher.java:136)
    and part of the image downloaded is totally black.
    Is there a way I can somehow catch this exception or change the code:
    Image img = (new ImageIcon(url)).getImage();
    so I'm sure that the whole image is downloaded?
    jacek

    Hiya Jacek,
    Try using java.awt.MediaTracker to download the image. The javadocs give an example how to use it to ensure the app waits for the image to be fully downloaded.

  • Why does the iTunes 10.4.1 update take me to Apple's download webpage instead of the usual Safari/Quicktime dialog box?

    Why does the iTunes 10.4.1 update take me to to Apple's download webpage (to download a full version of iTunes) instead of the usual Safari/Quicktime pop-up/dialog box where I usually perform the updates?

    iTunes 10.4 and Safari 5.1 contain more than 'just' the OSX Lion-release but stability and security improvements as well.
    For example, here is http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1070 what the Safari 5.1 contains.
    In here http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/ I can't find an "end-date" for the download of the Lion installer.
    Nonetheless, personaly I would download the Lion installer and then copy it (from your Apllications folder) to a secure place (backup harddisk, external hardisk etc.).
    When your IT gives it a go you can then use te Lion installer from inside the Applications folder, but I would also say to make a bootable clone of your current OSX Snow Leopard before starting the Lion installation.
