Downloaded 11.1.3 and itunes wont open

Just downloaded itunes 11.1.3 and now it won't open.  What to do?

yeah, i totally hear ya; I've been struggling with iTunes for the past few days, don't even wanna image what over a month would be like. (First World Problems, i guess.)
anyway, I've read through so much notes and posts the past few days trying to get it back working (and in fact, finally succeeded today), maybe I can help you out here, even though you seem to be suffering a different symptom. (To recap, my iTunes didn’t open at all; no spinning wheel, no error dialog, no nothing.)
so first things first, can you confirm that you downloaded iTunes 11.1.3 from here:
> http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
and are running Mavericks 10.9.1?
next up, have you tried
- opening iTunes in 'safe boot'
as well as
- opening iTunes from a guest account?
if so, did you experience the same issue in either circumstance?

this should help pinning down the cause of the whole mess, as I reckon it might be anything from a faulty kext, to a broken preference file, to a diseased plugin.
