http://www.essexinfo.net/queens-road-residents-association/assets/documents/village-voices is one example but a whole lot of the material which has been uploaded as pdf files over the last four years is now unviewable - if you click on the link you just get a black page.  The main site url is http://www.essexinfo.net and our site is the Queens Road Residents Association.  I have just gone through every link on the site and a number of links when clicked on will not bring up the material.  I tried going into Adobe 10 on my computer and disenabling protected mode as was suggested on your forum and at first when I went back into the essex info site it seemed to have worked when I clicked on a link that had only produced a black page.  However when I went back to test all the other links I found that the problem was still re-occuring.  This is really weird as the site and my connections to it which I sometimes make by directly accessing the site and sometime via a link from our QRRA blog have always worked perfectly with no problems up to now.  I downloaded adobe 10.1 on 8 March 2011.
I contacted essexinfo separately but they said everything seemed to be OK at their end working from within the system.
If you can help I would appreciate it.

Hi Claudio,  Thanks for your assistance.  I'm still confused.  When I click on this site it tells me: To view this FTP site in Windows Explorer, CLICK PAGE, and then click Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer.  I do not see "Page" on this list.  There is a "pace"... though.

  • Upgraded to Win 7, now can't open .pdf files after installing Acrobat X

I upgraded OS to Win 7 from Win XP, reinstalled my Acrobat X software and now am unable to open any .pdf files created and saved prior to upgrading OS and reinstalling Acrobat X. I see LOTS of discussion here about this issue (There was an error opening this document. Access denied.) but could someone tell me in SUCCINCT terms what I need to do to restore my ability to open files I created previously. My version of Acrobat X is 10.0.0. Thank you for assistance.

    HI szwarycz,
I will be happy to help.
Please tell me whether you have Adobe Reader or it Acrobat Professional X.
Meantime you can also try to go to edit preferences under categories choose General under general there is button called Select Default PDF Handler.
Click on that button and choose Adobe Acrobat X.  Check the screen shot.
Also you can try right click on any PDF document and choose option "Open with" their you need to choose option "Choose default application"
then you need to search for Acrobat application. Also you can visit this Microsoft article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/change-default-programs#1TC=windows-7

  • I downloaded the Adobe Reader and now can't open PDF files

I downloaded the Adobe Reader after notification on my MacBook Pro and now can't read PDF files

Yes, I was able to open PDFs until I downloaded the new version as per the alert on my MacBook Pro.  I was using Adobe Reader often.
I downloaded whatever they sent me my way (11?) and my operating system is Mac05 (10.5.8-10.9 English). The message says I’ve already downloaded it.  It didn’t mention file.org.  I looked in my preferences and didn’t see Adobe Reader, only Flash Player.
I’m not terribly computer savvy, so I’m trying to figure this out.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • I am trying to open a button on our website and in Firefox it tells me "there is a problem with Adobe Acorbat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again

It opens fine in internet explorer, it won't open in firefox.

    Hi vsteglich-
I would recommend looking at this Support article on Acrobat reader. The problem may be with the version of Acrobat that you are running. This article will help you to troubleshoot your Adobe Acrobat program:

    I hope this helps!

  • IMessage and FaceTime won't activate, says there is a problem with verifying email. What is the problem?

When I had iOS 5, both FaceTime and iMessage would work great. Since I have upgraded to iOS 6, it says that there is a problem verifying my apple ID and then says that there was a problem activating. I have tried everything I can think of and none of it seems to work. I have restord my iPhone, I have used a different ID, I have tried it over a different wi-fi connection, and I have signed in and out of my apple ID  Nothing seems to work. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Every time I try to use Adobe Reader 10.0.1, my new tab opens, the pdf starts loading, the blue bar gets to complete, and i get an error saying "there is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again"

Firefox freezes, and i have to end it in task manager. It will though immediately work in IE. Using firefox 4.0.1, and the plugins seem to be up to date as well.

Hey guys sorry I am just getting back to ya'll, but I have fixed my problem. There was a registery key missing. I had to create the registry key EXE in acrobat and set the default string value. After doing so everything started working correctly.

  • I updated my iPhone to the new iOS7 but now can't transfer apps via USB and no wifi

I cannot seem to update my iphone with new apps even though I've done it before with a USB. I don't have wifi.  Now what?

What happens when you try to update using an USB connection
to iTunes on a computer? If there is an error message, what is
the exact wording? Are you using the latest version of iTunes 11.1.1?

  • Error: "There is a problem With Adobe Acrobat/Reader..." What is .MST file??

I get the following error message and I looked it up in the knowledge base, and there was a solution for fixing the error message. However, I have no idea what they are talking about. I have downloaded the Customization Wizard, but I have no clue what the following means:
    A) Create a new transform
    B) Open your previously created .mst file
I went into the C Drive and opened Program Files. I found the Adobe folder, but I couldn't find an .mst file anywhere. Am I completely lost??? Below is the knowledge base solution:
Error: "There is a problem With Adobe Acrobat/Reader..." when you view a PDF in a browser (Acrobat and Adobe Reader 8 on Windows)
    Issue
When you try to view a PDF in Internet Explorer, you see the error message, "There is a problem With Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again." When you click OK to the error, the PDF opens outside of the browser.
    Reason
When you use the Adobe Customization Wizard to create a transform for Adobe Acrobat 8 or Adobe Reader 8, and you choose the option to "Make Acrobat the default viewer if both Acrobat and Reader are installed", or "Make Reader the default viewer if both Acrobat and Reader are installed", an error occurs if the computer does not have Acrobat or Reader already installed.
    Solution
Create a new transform and re-deploy Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
Start the Adobe Customization Wizard 8.
Open your previously created .mst file.
Under Installation Options, select "Installer will decide which product will be the default".
    Save the transform.
    Re-deploy Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
    Additional Information
When you create a transform in Adobe Customization Wizard 8, the installation options allow you to set the default viewer for PDF files. "Installer will decide which product will be the default" is the default setting and should be used when you are uncertain if the target machine has a version of Acrobat or Adobe Reader that won't be removed as part of the installation process. When installed silently using this option, Acrobat will always be configured as the default viewer.

I think you are headed down the wrong path. The Customization Wizard is what you use to push out Reader to several hundred computers. An MST is a package or transform file that is used to accomplish this task. Unless you are an IT person and are trying a deployment of Reader this solution does not fit your situation.
