Downloaded app wont work

AFTER PAYING for an app i get an error message stating the app wont work on the ipod touch because it needs a newer version of ipod software.
I downloaded the slingbox app for my ipod, of which there is no newer software available.
Says it needs 3rd gen or later model. How can i tell what "generation" my ipod is? The ipod info screen only says sw ver = 4.2.1
ser num = 1C928ASN201 6.83 gb mac os =10.6.8
If the generation of the device is something important to know then why wouldn't they list that detail where its easy to find?
They could have been clear about this detail before accepting my money. This is my first time buying anything from apple and hope this experience doesn't mar any future relationship.

Try downloading any free app directly on the iPad (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try any of your apps - you can then delete the free app.
You can then re-try syncing. If that doesn't work then a reset of the iPad might help : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC (together with the Apps) doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)

I had the same problem since I updated, the iPad shows "No Sim" I have taken it out, put it back in after cleaning it! All the usual possible solutions that everyone else has tried? So I have not been able to connect for over a week now and I intended to pop into the Apple geek guys to let them have a look, but was scared that they might suggest it would have to be sent away!!! What would I do?. So last night I was fiddling around with the IPad and thought I would try something, AND GUESS WHAT! It works!!!!
This is what I had done
1. Take the SIM out of the IPad
2. Leaving the SIM out, turn the Ipad off using the Home and power button at the same time, do this 4 times
3. Now insert the SIM back in it then found my SIM
I cannot confirm the is the ultimate cure, but it worked for me and I have tried all the other possible solutions, it's worth a try?

You downloaded one new app and that fixed all the rest of your apps?
Resetting your iPod Touch will not lose any data.
Only restoring may cause you to loose data.

Ok, what you have here is a basic 'blown fuse' problem.
With the iPhone 3G and 3GS if you drop them in water and they stop working you can almost always revive the phone simply by oepning them up, finding the corrosion on the motherboard then cleaning it and putting it back together.
With the iPhone 4 (and 4S) it's a different story though in that water damage causes a fuse on the motherboard to blow. Once blown, the phones can no longer receive power from the battery. They can however receive power from a wall charger, which is why your phone runs whilst plugged into a charger but dies as soon as it's disconnected. Trying to run it from a USB port wont work either as the 5V power supply gets interupted whilst the phone is booting, as such it dies part way through booting, and the cycle repeats.
At this stage you have 3 options:
-have the phone replaced by Apple, or
-replace the damaged fuse on the iPhone motherboard yourself, or
-send the phone to a company to have the fuse repaired
There is a company that sells the replacement components, and they have an installation sevice too. I've fixed a couple of iPhones in my day, and unless you are very proficent with a soldering iron I strongly recommend having the repair done for you.

Since updating AppWorld has nothing to do with the Facebook app there is no way to know why your Facebook app won't work. Did you update anything else after updating Appworld? Do you have a BB data plan on your account? This isn't always necessary any more but either wifi or some type of data plan is required for the apps to work..

TS1702 downloaded apps stop working

Every 2-3 weeks all downloaded apps stop working.
I have to deleted one of the downloaded apps, reinstall that app, then everything works for another 2-3 weeks.
What is happening and how can it be fixed for good?

Guys a hard reset fixes this. This usually occurs when the last third party app you used didnt close right. You must reset the device to fix this. If this doesnt work then the apps may of been corrupted and you will want to download them again for free. Yes this is a pain in the *** but what can you do about it? Not our faults Apple rushed this firmware out.

First, double tap the home key and close off any apps that are in the task bar. You are really looking for an earlier instance of camera or photobooth that is still there. Then reboot the pad. Hold the sleep and home buttons until the apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider.
Then try the app again.
This has been happening off and on well before ios 5.

Updated my 4s and ipad3 and now both are basically useless. Cant access itunes store, app store, weather app wont work and multiple bugs with facebook. How am I supposed to fix all these problems????

When you updated your iPhone 4S and iPad3 to iOS6, what exactly do you mean when you can't access the iTunes store? Have you checked your connection to the network?
