Downloaded applications/games do not show

I tried twice erasing and restoring from backup on my son's iPad mini but some applications do not show on any screen but are visible in the "Settings" and also in iTunes and example is "Skylanders Trap Team"
In the example above I could not download the game from the AppStore, the "download/free" button was disabled. I was able to subsequently download via iTunes and see that it was sync'd with the iPad, but it is just not visible.
Please advise as to my next steps.

Do you have restrictions turned on for installing apps or for age content? Settings>General>Restrictions. If you do, you need to turn those off in order to install apps and have them appear on the iPad.

I have 5th gen ipod and i am running 1.2 of the software
I bought Texas hold'em. When i sync my games it says it is updating but when it is finished it doesnt show up and i am unable to play.

This could be caused by Windows drive letter confusion on your computer.
Try giving this a try (reassigning your iPod's drive letter on your computer):
Log off of any other users on your computer (and disconnect any iPods that are currently connected to your computer, as well)
Then, put your iPod into Disk Mode, then follow these steps:
1 - Don’t plug in your iPod yet.
2 - Go to "START -> Control Panel -> Admin Tools (if you don't see this, click on "classic view" button on the left panel) -> Computer Management."
3 - Click on the "Disk Management" button in the left panel area.
4 - Now, with "Computer Management" and Control Panel windows opened, connect your iPod to the computer.
5 - Right-click on your iPod's listing there (after a few moments when it gets recognized in this drive window), and click on "Change Drive letter and Paths". Then the "Change..." button.
Here's what it should look like:
Assign your iPod the letter "M" "N", "O" or the like (further along in the alphabet).

Also, I have a question: does this happen to you with your music, podcasts, etc. as well, or is this just with games? (when it says "updating" but doesn't show up on the iPod)

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:

Applications Info Is Not Showing Up in the System Profiler

My applications info is not showing up in the new system profiler. I get the message "no information found". Any help would be appreciated.

I'd get them to send you another card. If it works, great! If not, then the connection on the computer is bad. If that's the case, you can get a wireless PCI card or a wireless USB adapter, but the PCI card would be better. Test it with another Airport card first though.

When switching spaces application menu is not showing

I'm not sure the is a Snow Leopard specific problem, but I have certain applications assigned to certain spaces. When I switch to a space for that application and it has an open document, everything is fine. But if I close all of the document windows for the application and then switch away from that space and then back to that space, the Finder menu takes over. The application is still running, but I have to either click it's icon in the dock or cmd-tab to the application to get it's menu or toolbars to appear.
Is this normal behavior? It's kind of a pain to mak sure that I at least have one open document window so that when I switch back to that space I don't have to "reactivate" the app. Just so I make sure i'm explaining this correctly...
I have Photoshop in it's own space and then open the program and then don't open a document window and then switch to another space and then switch back to the Photoshop space, I now have the Finder's menu displayed and a blank desktop showing. I then have to click on the Photoshop icon or cmd-tab to the running application to get it's menus and toolbars to show.

First off, I meant to title this "When switching spaces application window is not showing."
Just in case anyone else runs into this problem or any other weirdness with switching between spaces, the answer seems to be trashing the com.apple.dock.plist file and then restarting the dock. The preferences file can evidentially get corrupted and create some problems. Spaces does not have it's own plist file but stores it's data in the dock's plist file. Be warned that this will reset all of your dock preferences including which apps you have on the dock.

Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then login with your id. Any content already on the iPad will be tied to the previous owner's id and it can't be copied or transferred to your id - so it's probably best to do restore the iPad back to factory defaults and start as from new with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents And Settings

Try a reset:
1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together)
2. For about 10 seconds
3. Until you see the Apple logo (very important)
4. Ignore the red slider

ITunes says i've purchased music but it will not re-download and it is not showing up in my purchased area

I bought Demi Lovato - "Unbroken" along with multiple other music purchases but this is the only album that does not show up in my purchased area or has the feature of re-downloading when i search it into iTunes. I have a new laptop and even on my old laptop which i purchased it on, it is not re-downloadable or even re-purchasable. I am using the exactly the same iTunes iD. It is in my itunes on my old laptop but I can't download or purchase it again onto my new laptop eventhough it says it has already been purchased but it doesn't show up in my purchased area. Also, i go onto my old laptop and i meet the same problem. Hope you understand this, thanks

Are you sure you meet the requirements? It is not possible to purchase Mavericks because it was a free download. However, you no longer can download Mavericks since the release of Yosemite. If Mavericks works on your model, then so will Yosemite. Frankly, though, for a computer that age I would stick with Snow Leopard. It will allow you to use any older PPC applications none of which will work in Lion or later. Snow Leopard will perform faster for you on that model.

Closing an application that does not show up as open

I downloaded an application off the internet and it is messing with my computer. I tried all the ways to delete but it wont because the error message says that it is still open. however, I cannot close it using the conventional methods including turning off the computer. it does not show up as open when I use the force quit menu so it will not let me force quit it. ultimately, I want to delete this intrusive application.

Did it come w/a Read Me file?
Did it come w/an uninstaller? If so, use it. If not, go the app manufacturer website for uninstalling instructions.
Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items. You can disable from there. Also, there is a mapping location of where the file is.

My downloaded text sounds do not show up under the sounds tab in settings after installing 8.1.1. can someone help me please?

i downloaded a couple text tones and since installing 8.1.1, they will not show up under the sounds tab. in fact, they do not show up in my recent purchases on itunes, but when i go to buy them again, it says that i have already bought this tone. This was happening to me too but only for some of my songs. I have a mac so I dunno about PCs, but for most of my ringtones I had to create an ACC version in itunes to make them short enough then turn that into a m4r and those all worked fine. But if the song was already short enough and I didn't create an ACC version and just turned the original into a m4r, then it wouldn't appear in my itunes.
so if you're on a mac:
1. go to get info, options, pick when you want the song to start and end.
     Has to be pretty short to work, 30 second or less is good
     if it's already short enough that's fine
2. right click and click 'create ACC version'
     a copy with the length you put in will appear, drag that into a folder or whatever and just type in m4r where m4a would be
     still make an ACC version even if it's the right length
Hopefully this helps someone else.

Application icon does not show up in iTunes - AdHoc distribution.

I set an icon of size 57 x 57 as the application icon. The icon shows up in the applications list of the iphone. When I bundle it for an adhoc distribution and add it to iTunes, the icon does not show up in the iTunes Application list. But it shows up on the iphone device that I copy to.
Am I missing something?

iTunes does not use the icon for display (the icon is only used on the phone itself). In order for iTunes to display the artwork as well, you need to create a 512x512 JPEG file named "iTunesArtwork" (no extension) and copy it into the application bundle (note that you will have to build the application again after this so that the code signature will sign the additional file as well).
This file should be same (other than the name) you load up to iTunesConnect as the 512x512 artwork.
