Downloaded apps instantly quitting after launching since 2.2 update

that's not fun. Just updated my wife's iphone 3G to 2.2 - and all her downloaded apps don't work anymore. Anyone else have this happen?

Couple suggestions, Some which have already been spoken about
1. Ensure you have downloaded and installed latest iTunes

2. When iTunes is open. Go to the top iTunes menu bar and click on store - then click on de-authorize computer. Once this is done go back to store again and click authorize computer. Once this is done sync.
3. Download a free app and sync
4. Un-sync Apps and then Re-sync apps
5. Reboot the iPhone by holding down the home button and sleep/wake button. Do not let go till you see a silver apple logo. Then try apps again
6. Restore iPhone
*Please ensure you backup iPhone data into the proper programs supported on your OS before restoring. As restoring will erase all data.

    Hey. I'm using my CC account on both work and home computers. The one at work (Mac) works like a charm. But when I installed a CC on my home laptop (PC with Windows 8.1) after removing CS6 trials, the apps (Ps and Ai) do download, install and launch but quit just after showing a glimpse of interface.. No error message, nothing. They just issue a quit command. Is it a common thing that could be cured? Thanks!

  • All Third Party Apps Immediately Quite After Launch

    I have restored my 16G 3G iPhone several times, yet repeatedly run into the same problem in which any and all third party apps will immediately quit out right after an attempted launch. However, all of the original pre-installed Apple apps work fine.
    I currently have about 87 third party apps, which iTunes reports as taking up 574.8MB of space. It does not matter as to the order or last app installed, the problem still crops up.
    Needless to say I am extremely frustrated over this loss of function and the enormous amount of time spent in trying to troubleshoot the problem. Each attempted has been made with a clean restore. I have started from scratch with no backup data being reinstalled.
    Is anyone else experiencing this problem and, or might know what’s going on and offer a solution?

    This is what I have come up with.
    I am having the same problem with the 2.0.1 software update. What I did to fix the problem was:
    1.)Unsync the apps off the iPhone.
    2.)Disconnect your iPhone from the computer.
    3.)Reset iPhone: press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    3.)Reconnect your iPhone to the computer and resync your apps and they should work again.
    But there is still a "bug" with the software 2.0.1. If you "Reset" your iPhone at anytime by holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button the apps will not work again after the restart completes. Then you will have to perform the same steps I have listed above to get them working again. This is a huge pain in the ***. And apple needs to fix and address this problem. I am having this problem on my iPhone 2G and my girlfriends 3g iPhone. I have had to do this 10 times already between both phones, it's not fun. =8-(

  • Safari quits after sleep since last Security Update

    This is directly related to the latest security update as it never happened before. I'm fine all day long. I close the lid of my 17" laptop and it and I go to sleep
    The next morning I open the lid and soon Safari quits. This has happened every time and yet I do not see recent posts about it.
    Anyone similar?

    I went to Adobe and downloded the standard version. I think it's the version you mention. The other one is a beta version. I installed the standard one over the newer one and it seemed to 'take'. It's been two days now and the problem hasn't repeated.
    You can look in the Help menu for Safari at Installed Plug-Ins. See what version of Shockwave Flash is listed. Mine says 8.0 r24.

I tested it on an old iPhone 3G and got the same problem so it is not an iOS 5 issue. My WI-FI connection is working fine. I was wondering if this is an App Store problem?     iTunes Support wasn't of any use to me.
    I have also been having another problem - with BBC iPlayer and other video streaming not working due to insufficient bandwidth, despite my overall download speed being consistently around 50Gb.  This is also affecting AppleTV downloads
    I am using Virgin Media as my ISP, and was wondering whether you do as well.  This might be the common thread.

  • Downloaded apps not starting after splash screens

    I've had this device for about a month.
    I recently paid the $10 to upgrade the software to version 3.0.
    There are 1.9 free GB on the device.
    I sync it via a Windows Vista machine.
    I have not downloaded any apps through iTunes on the Vista machine. I have downloaded five apps directly onto the device through the App Store. Two of the five were free (New York Times Reader, Skype) and the others I paid for.
    Everything has been working fine until this morning when I tried to open the NYTimes reader. It showed the opening screen, then dropped back to the home screen. The same is happening will all five downloaded apps.
    I tried syncing in iTunes, but none of my downloaded apps is listed in iTunes on my computer. Are they supposed to be there?
    I've seen a few other questions of this nature, but no solution that makes any sense to me.
    I'm pretty surprised to have this happening on a Mac product. I have restarted the device twice, with no change. I have also hooked the device up to my computer and tried to sync it, but I don't see any change. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to try to sync, since I just want these apps to work, but they don't show up on the iTunes app list on my computer.

    So I got an iPod touch(2.2) for Christmas. That's how I'm posting this. Up until today things have been great, but now, all of my downloaded apps, except Free Piano and SHOUTcast Radio, close when I open them. I have, of course, checked for iPod and app updates. And turned it on and off. Any suggestions? To fix it? Thanks.

    You can re-download your purchased music (and other media) again for free, either in iTunes or on your phone (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).  Music from other sources, however, should already be in your iTunes library and can be synced back to your phone.  If it wasn't, then you will have to re-import it to iTunes  (such as by re-ripping your CDs) first.

    The problem is specifically on Wi-Fi, the apps that are persistently causing issues are:
    Safari
    Email
    Facebook
    Twitter
    You Tube
    The App store
    BBC Iplayer
    I keep restarting the phone which helps temporarily but then the Apps get timed out again. Looks like it cannot retrieve data over Wi-Fi.

    These applications open and the immediately quit.  Other app's work including google which access internet. 

    Try downloading another app - any free app will do. That seems to reset something and it may work for you. If not, try all of the steps below.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Final Cut Quits after launch unexpectantly

    I havent used final cut express since I did the last apple update. I open final cut express and I get an error message that unable to see firewire device and then i have an option to check again or continue to say devices connected are none. Nothing is connected except a midi keyboard thru USB and an external. After I hit continue final cut quits. What is wrong?

    There is a pref setting to disable that warning dialog.
    Check in user preferences under general tab. Put a checkmark at "Do not show A/V device warning on launch".

  • Acrobat 9 Pro quits after launch

    I just got a new iMac and transferred all of my files + apps from a backup drive. I went from OSX Snow Leopard to Lion 10.8.2 OS. When I went to launch my Acrobat 9 Pro, it said that it was part of a suite and I needed to open one of the CS5 apps. (I have CS5 Design Standard) I launched ALL of the apps in CS5, but Acrobat still wouldn't open. I reinstalled Illustrator CS5 once and Acrobat 9 twice from the original discs, but it still didn't work. (Uninstalled Acrobat first before resinstalling.) After the 2nd reinstall of Acrobat 9, I got a dialog that said "Licensing for this product has stopped working". Called Adobe support and all licensing checks out fine.
    Using Acrobat Pro is VITAL to my business in preparing files for press almost daily. Any workarounds or help would be greatly apreciated.

    Oops, sorry, missed that (that you did the uninstall/reinstall tango. The problem is still likely associated with having copied a whole system image or files over. Unfortunately, this is something that Adobe has to directly assist you with. Were you waiting 2 hours just to speak with someone or were you on with someone for two hours who wasn't able to help. If the latter, ask for a supervisor.

  • Photoshop CC quits after launching (Mac)

    Hello!
    I have the same problems that others have reported, but I have not seen a definite fix posted. Problem: Just installed Photoshop CC on a Mac running OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 -- when the app is launched, the splash screen is displayed, then Photoshop opens for about a second and promptly closes. If I click on a menu open within that 1-second window, the app will remain open (though you really can't do anything with it, since as soon as you close the menu, the app closes). Note that I also have Photoshop CS6 on this machine, and there are no issues with it.
    I have a tried a few of the recommended fixes, such as signing-out, then signing back in, as well as uninstalling all components of CC, using the "cleaner" tool, and reinstalling. Still no dice. As I have both a Mac and a PC, I tried installing CC on the Windows machine and there is no problem with that.
    So, I am wondering what my next step should be? Any help appreciated!

    Please rename SLCache to SLCache_old from these location to fix the issue.

    Once done launch Photoshop.
