Downloaded apps not on desktop

santa was good to us this year. an ipad was left under our tree! i downloaded two apps, but they don't go tot he desktop as they do on my ipod touch. you have to go into settings and they are there under downloads. how do we get them up front?

If you downloaded them directly onto your iPad then they might have gone onto a separate screen - if there is more than one dot just above the app dock at the bottom of the screen then you have apps on more than one screen. If there are have you tried swiping the screen to the left to see if they are on the next screen ? If they are then you can move them onto the first screen (assuming that there is room). If you havn't already done so then the manual can be downloaded from here http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad , which explains how to rearrange apps.

On Mac OS, plugins are installed to a common location, usually ''' /Library/Internet Plugins''' for system-wide availability or to '''~/Library/Internet Plugins''' for a specific user. Ref: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Issues_related_to_plugins#Background

When you plug your ipod into your computer go into itunes and click on your ipod in the left hand column. then go to the bar at the top and click apps
you can then check which apps you want installed and which you don't

Downloaded apps not starting after splash screens

I've had this device for about a month.
I recently paid the $10 to upgrade the software to version 3.0.
There are 1.9 free GB on the device.
I sync it via a Windows Vista machine.
I have not downloaded any apps through iTunes on the Vista machine. I have downloaded five apps directly onto the device through the App Store. Two of the five were free (New York Times Reader, Skype) and the others I paid for.
Everything has been working fine until this morning when I tried to open the NYTimes reader. It showed the opening screen, then dropped back to the home screen. The same is happening will all five downloaded apps.
I tried syncing in iTunes, but none of my downloaded apps is listed in iTunes on my computer. Are they supposed to be there?
I've seen a few other questions of this nature, but no solution that makes any sense to me.
I'm pretty surprised to have this happening on a Mac product. I have restarted the device twice, with no change. I have also hooked the device up to my computer and tried to sync it, but I don't see any change. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to try to sync, since I just want these apps to work, but they don't show up on the iTunes app list on my computer.

Ipad3 downloaded apps not launching - no wifi access

I can't get my downloaded apps to launch. I looked online for a solution. Resetting does not work, all my software is up to date and its not a single problematic app its all of them. I also made sure all my apps were closed to not take up memory. Downloading a new app fixes the problem, so i think its something to do with having to confirm my appleID but unfortunately I don't have access to wifi during class hours because they turn it off. I am in med school and have been using notability to take notes on lecture slides. If I don't keep my iPad on and open to notability the whole time, the apps stop working at some point during the day. Because I am not connected to wifi I can't download a new app or sign in to the app store using my ID and so I can't fix the problem. It's also not ideal for me to carry around my iPad turned on and open to notability throughout breaks and lunch to avoid losing access to my notes.
Please tell me there is another way to fix this. I pretty much bought this iPad so I could use notability for med school, and I'm frustrated that I spent so much money on a supposedly high quality product and I can't even fix a regularly recurring glitch without access to wifi. I've been having to carry a large laptop in addition to my iPad because I can't rely on the iPad to work.
Does anybody know another solution to fixing this problem that does not involve Internet access? When I try to launch an app the screen goes black for a half second but the app never launches.

When I search RealTek on the drivers page, the audio driver is the only thing that pops up. So I tried searching for "card" and under Networking: Wireless LAN I found "ThinkPad 1x1 11b/g/n Wireless LAN PCI Express Half Mini Card Adapter for Windows 7". I installed the driver to no avail though unfortunately. Other drives that contain "card“ on that page are all media drivers.

Downloaded App Not Loading!

I have a Blackberry Curve 8320 and I'm having trouble with my newly downloaded App World. I downloaded the AP News app, but it doesn't seem to load. Every time I try to select it, the screen freezes on the menu until I hit the "call end" button. Can anyone help me out?

I'm sorry your son's phone is having issues. Let's get that device up and running! What error is he getting? Did you set it up with his own personal Gmail account? Please power down the device remove and reinsert the Sim Card and retest.

Webcam detected in Windows 8.1 App not the desktop...

Hello, I tried searching everywhere for a solution and have tried the usual reinstall, downloading an earlier version, etc. But I have still not succeeded in getting the desktop client to find my webcam. Again the app that comes with windows 8.1 can detect my webcam no problem but the client cannot. Also just to avoid the whole "please upload your dxdiag" response I have it already attached.Any ideas?

Do you have the Logitech Camera Controller app installed? I had some odd issues when it wasn't, with my c525. So you may want to try that:

You can also try resetting your Skype configuration. Exit Skype completely then run the following program. When it is done, restart Skype and the initial wizard should come up. See if your camera is picked up.

Windows server 2012 RDP Session - Default Start Menu Layout Downloaded Apps Not Displayed

Hopefully someone can help me to resolve a problem that's holding me back a little regarding the start menu for all users that connect to remote desktop sessions on Windows Server 2012.
I would like all users to have the same default application set upon login. Using a temporary user called 'Start Menu' I created the exact layout that I require all users to have. I installed the tile apps from the store with the 'Start Menu' user.
I then used the PowerShell command:
PS C:\> Export-StartLayout -Path "C:\Layouts\Marketing.xml"-As XML
This then gave me the following XML file:

Using GPO I then applied this layout to all users. However when I login as any other users I only actually get the OneDrive app and none of the others.
Can someone please point me in the right direction. The store can not be run as administrator and the 'Start Menu' user had administrator rights when the apps were added from the store.

You can check the GPO setting “pin Apps to Start when installed” which will pin the new program to start and other setting “Start Screen Layout” which will lets you specify the Start screen layout for users and prevents them from changing
its configuration. You can find this setting under below mention path.

Trying to download MS Office for Mac from non-profit Tech Soup. Get error message from my iMac saying only software from the apple store can be downloaded???????? This can't be true. Help.

Please double check your PayPal account -- log into it from a PC/browser and ensure that the credentials you use there are identical to those you use to log into MyWorld. Also ensure that all credit cards you have attached to PayPal are current and valid...we have learned that if there is any credit card attached to your PayPal account that is invalid for any reason (e.g., expired), it will prevent AppWorld purchases from completing, even if it is not the funding source. Further, there must be at least one (valid) credit card attached to the PayPal account.
We also have heard from some users who report that creating a whole new PayPal account somehow fixes things and allows them to make purchases. I'm not sure why that works, but reports exist that it does.
Also please try a hard reset: With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
In addition, you can try this sequence:
1) Remove AppWorld from your BB (Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications) -- if it requests that you reboot the BB, do so.
2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot as described above.
3) Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld

Again, if it requests to reboot, do so.
4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
5) See if it now works.

Downloaded apps not syncing

I just downloaded 6-7 apps for my Iphone (4g) and see them in my Itunes Library on my laptop. When I plugged in my phone, half of the apps did become available to sync, which I did. The others show up in my library screen but when I go to my Iphones data and select Apps, they are not avaialble for me to choose. what happened? How can I get them all on the phone and why would some show up and not others?

My iphone is a 3GS, and this made the syncing starting to delete all my apps !

One verified solution for downloaded apps not launching

I just had two other people verify this with 2.0.1 firmware and iphone 3G models.
If you install more than 80-85 applications on your iphone, you will then get the following issue: Launch any downloaded application and it tries to launch for 1-2 seconds and then returns to the home screen.
Even going to the appstore and downloading another application from the iphone does not fix the issue.
Uncheck some of your least used applications to get below 80, and then your applications work (One note - all 3 of us did the restore method and we selected between 40-60 apps)

Ok here is a new and interesting problem. I was checking for app updates using the iPhone's App Store launcher. I had lots of apps that needed updates so i selected the "update All" button. It asked for my iTunes store password a few times and started updating. After a few minutes I noticed my phone was hung. I could not even power down. I did not know what to do really. Finally I just held the home button and power button down and plugged into the computer. The computer said I recognized a phone in some kind of safe mode, iTunes did a restore without asking.
Im telling you, Steve was right about 3rd party apps having the ability to inter fear the phone and that Apple was going to handle them carefully. (though their efforts do not appear to be working).
