Downloaded Edge Code (Preview)

I downloaded Edge Code (Preview) and I still have the old application icon in my applications folder. What am I doing wrong? Or where do I find the updated version?

Do you mean you're now seeing two icons in Applications?  If you're only seeing one icon, it is probably the icon for the newest version (it should replace the previous version in place).  Is there something that makes you think it's still the old version?
Btw, I assume you're using the Creative Cloud desktop application to download Edge Code -- is that correct?  What OS are you on?

Yikes, that's pretty strange.  Can you try this?
    Open a command prompt
    cd to the download folder
Run this: msiexec /i "Adobe Edge Code Preview.msi" /L*V "install.log"
That should create an install.log file in the same folder.  Please reply back here with the contents of that file.

  • Edge Code preview 3 : bug report

Sorry, it took me ages to be able to post something of that website (basically, if there's a forum where I can make bug reports for www.adobe.com website, let me know !)
So... this morning i downloaded and installed Edge Code preview 3, and : webfont pannel has gone ! Completely. I tried to run Edge Code preview 2 : webfont panel works perfectly.
I'm pretty happy not be eligible for the upgrade of Dreamweaver CS6 (12.2) made available this morning too : if it's as bugged as is ECP3...
Sincerely yours, not happy at all customer, expert, trainer : Luffy.

In preview 3, the web font hints don't pop up nearly as agressively as they used to.  If you type the first char of any font name, they should appear.  Or you can invoke the hints popup explicitly by pressing Ctrl+Space.
We may change the behavior back to how preview 2 worked in the future.  Our main concern is to make the hints for CSS property names not overly agressive, since it's harder to predict where you're going to start typing one.  But typing CSS property values is a little more predictable, so we might be willing to pop those hints up more often (as in preview 2).  There's some discussion of making such a change here: https://github.com/adobe/brackets-edge-web-fonts/issues/69
    Hope that helps!

  • How to uninstall Adobe Edge Code Preview 3 after installing Adobe Edge Code CC

After installing Adobe Edge Code CC via Creative Cloud I have noticed I still have Adobe Edge Code Preview 3 on my machine.
There is no specific uninstaller in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
So how do I uninstall it?

Hey Jarrid, you can just drag it to the trash to get rid of it. The preferences are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Edge Code/ so you can delete that folder as well to completely remove it.

  • Issue getting Edge Code Preview 3 to enable Remote Debugging

    Hi all,
I am using the latest version of Chrome as my default browser. I opened up ECP3 and pointed to the project I wanted to use it for (WordPress site on WAMP server). I then clicked live preview and it opened the URL up properly in Chrome. Moments later, a notification in Edge Code Preview 3 pooped up saying I needed to re-launch Google Chrome with remote debugging enabled. So I clicked Relaunch. Minutes passed, and nothing happened. So I relaunched Chrome myself, clicked live preview again, and the same message comes up.
I have tried launched Chrome via Live Preview, I have restarted my computer, and closed all Pinned Tabs in Chrome. What is going on here?

Hmm, this seems like a smiliar issue to this - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1159001?tstart=0
Can you try forcing Chrome to run with remote debugging enabled? http://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/run-chromium-with-flags - and see if Live Preview works? That's not a solution but will help in figuring out where the break is.
I'm also going to log an issue on this so we can start tracking it.
    Sorry about the hassle!

  • Edge Code Preview

Might as well ask this question here since the Edge Code forum has evidently been taken down.
Since as far as I'm aware, no updates to Edge Code Preview have been made available since at least early December or possibly even as early as August 2013, when we were pretty much "promised" fortnightly updates, I have to ask, have Adobe given up on the product? I have been waiting for a properly functioning Live Development Preview since switching to Edge Code, also Sass functionality, none of which have happened.
    Regards
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew -
It looks to me like that forum *is* available: https://forums.adobe.com/community/edge_code_preview
I don't know when the next update is coming, but I do know that the Edge Code team has been working on one.

  • Download Edge Code, Inspect, and Phonegap OSX 10.6.8

How can I download all three free apps: Adobe Edge Code CC, Adobe Edge Inspect CC, and PhoneGap all for Mac OSX 10.6.8?
I have seen numerous places where it shows that 10.6.8 is supported for these apps, however, through Creative Cloud (CC), it says that my operating system is no longer supported. There must be a way to download them without going through the Creative Cloud website (like a separate download link).
    Thank you!

    Thank you!
However, aren't Edge Code and Edge inspect NOT trial-based? Meaning that they wont expire/stop working after 30 days or so.
Also, I did not find PhoneGap in that link. I know the build version is part of Adobe too but the regular version from Phonegap.com downloads as a zip that I can't open. I am not sure if Phonegap is for Mac or not or if I am doing something wrong.
Is there any way to make the webpages we build on Edge Code mobile friendly? In other words, make it so their is a mobile version (not desktop version view) of the site when one visits that webpage on a mobile browser.
    I appreciate your help! Thanks!

  • Edge Code CC won't load, blank window

I've just downloaded Edge Code via Creative cloud, but when I open up the application the only thing I get is a blank white window titled index.html.
I cant type in it, I don't get any toolbars or menus or anything. Not even the "about Edge Code"  From the "Edge Code" menu shows anything.
    What can I do?
I have a 2,6 Ghz Intel Core i7 MacBook Pro Retina
    16 GB RAM (1600 Mhz DDR3)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
    OS X 10.8.4

I used Comodo. But I can't remember the steps I'm afraid. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

  • Where is Edge Code pdf documentation?

Where can I download Edge Code documentation in pdf format?

Edge Code is still a prerelease, and there isn't really any formal documentation yet.  However, the wiki for Brackets has some info you may fund useful.  For example: https://github.com/adobe/brackets/wiki/How-to-Use-Brackets

  • Editing just Java in Edge Code?

Hello, I've been wondering if I should download Edge Code as a code editor for a while now, and I was wondering if the program is also capable of editing with the Jave language, NOT just JavaScript? I know any text editor can be used to create a Java program - what I'm wondering is if it will support the same same shortcuts and keystrokes as it will for the other languages it already supports. Thanks!

Most commands will work exactly the same, including everything you see in the Edit menu or the Find menu.  But commands with very language-specific behavior won't be supported, such as Quick Edit, Jump to Definition, and Quick Find Definition (Ctrl-T).  Edge Code also doesn't include any functionality for compiling your Java code into an executable program, or spotting syntax errors in your code -- you'll have to use command-line tools for that.  If you want a very rich Java editing experience, I'd suggest looking into a larger Java-specific IDE such as IntelliJ IDEA.

  • Problems downloading Edge apps

I'm trying to download Edge Code, but the browser returns a "bad URL" error that references https:localhost/. Same thing happens when I try to download Edge Animate.

Using Safari 6 under MacOS X 10.8.2, the download UI simply does not function.  Not only does the download button not work but I am unable to get the dis,iss X in the upper right to work.  Clicking away is equally ineffective.  The only escape I was able to find was closing the window entirely.
Not a good impression for those interested in the Edge suite.

  • What is the difference between Edge Animate CC, Edge Code CC (Preview), and Edge Reflow CC (Preview)?

Also, what does the (Preview) mean?  Does it mean that a newer version will become available soon?

    Hi All,
Preview releases means that our team acknowledges the limited functionality of the application. Our goal is to provide community members an opportunity to try out the application and we encourage everyone to provide us with feedback.
Edge Animate lets web designers create interactive HTML animations for web, digital publishing, rich media advertising and more, reaching both desktop and mobile with ease.
    Edge Animate FAQ
Edge Reflow allows responsive designs faster and create high-fidelity prototypes through media query breakpoints, precise CSS layouts, grouping and more. Edge Reflow now connects directly to Photoshop CC, allowing you to go from static design to responsive comp in just one-click.
    Edge Reflow FAQ
Edge Code is a lightweight code editor for web developers and designers working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Edge Code is built to work with browsers, speeding up development time by displaying changes to the code directly on the screen.

  • Adobe Edge code live preview is not working

I've recently downloaded Adobe Edge Code and noticed that the live preview doesn't work when i edit it and i also checked the source code and sore that it didn't change. The icon in the top right corner is yellow, i am using Windows 7 and Google Chrome.

The general rule of thumb is: only the contents of .css files are updated in real time as you're typing, in the current version of Live Preview.  To see anything else, you must save your changes and reload the webpage.  In the latest version of Brackets (and therefore the next upcoming release of Edge Code), we make this a little easier by automatically reloading the page when you save.
Down the road, we'd like to make .html and .js update as you're typing too -- we're just not there yet.  Here are the user stories tracking those future features:

  • I keep getting an internal server error when I try to load pages in live preview in edge code...

I keep getting this message every time I try to laod a page using live preview in Edge Code with Google chrome...
"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log."
I'm using google chrome Version 33.0.1750.152. I'm running mac osx 10.9.2. I've installed Apache.
in the project settings I have this url... http://127.0.0.1/~spencer/butterville_website/
I had this working flawlessly with an earlier version of a website I was working on. I haven't changed any settings, the only thing that has changed is that I'm working with a new sub folder in the root directory. Every time I try to load the page, I get that error message. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Please help! Thanks.

This query seems to be related to Edge Code. you can get help from this forum.
Also EdgeCode doesn't have troubleshooting page but you can get help from Brackets trouble shooting page.

  • How can I get typekit fonts to display in edge code live preview?

I'm wondering how I can get typekit fonts to display when using adobe code cc live preview? I'm aware that it's an issue with my local base url, but I'm confused as to how to fix the issue.
Right now my site is stored locally in a folder on my desktop. I'm not sure what to put in the typekit settings under "domain" and what URL to put in the project settings in edge code.
    A little help please?

    Hello,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. In order for the Typekit fonts to load, you need to add the IP address that you are using for Live Preview to the domain listing on the kit.
By default, Edge Code uses the IP address "http://127.0.0.1/"; you should see that listed in the web browser when previewing your site.  If you've changed the preview URL in Edge Code, it might be something like butterville.local instead.
In either case, copy the URL where you are previewing the site, and add it to your domains: go to http://typekit.com and launch your Kit Editor. Click Kit Settings in the upper right corner and add your domain to the domains field, then save your settings.
Make sure you republish your kit after saving the changes.
I hope that this helps! If you still have trouble with the font loading, please send me the preview URL you are using along with your Typekit kit ID.  You may post those here or email us at [email protected]
    Best,
