Downloaded firefox web browser but it doesn't show up as a shortcut on the desktop or in my start up menu and those items were checked when i downloaded

i think my question says it all...i downloaded firefox 5.0.1 and it went thru the process. It asked if i wanted a desktop shortcut and have it in the startup menu and i had those boxes checked. But when everything was done it isn't anywhere. I just bought a new Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E420 with windows 7.

The USB drive must be formatted for Mac in Mac OS Extended (Journaled), or if you want to use both Mac and Windows files, the drive can be formatted in FAT32.
A number of drives are formatted for Windows only in a format called NTFS. This willl not work on the Time Capsule.
In addition, the USB port on the Time Capsule is under powered. You almost always have to use a powered USB hub when you connect a drive to the Time Capsule...even if the drive has its own power supply.

Cannot open .jnlp file when asked to open with firefox web browser in ubuntu 11.10 using firefox 6

After upgrading to ubuntu 11.10 the firefox 6 browser cannot download and open .jnlp file from the interactivebrokers website. Usually I go to the IB website and download tws.jnlp file which is opened in the firefox web browser. But now when I click on the Open with Firefox Browser button, the firefox browser opens a new tab and display the same open window again.

Seems that after upgrading to 11.10, jnlp files open with firefox instead of javaws (Java Web Start).
If you right click the file on the download folder and choose "open with" you can manually select java web start.
Ubuntu bug...
You can right click any .jnlp file and select "properties", go to "Open With" tab, mark Sun Java 6 Web Start and click "Set as Default". Should fix it. I don't know what would happen if you have the default ubuntu java instead of Sun's. Maybe this wouldn't be necessary.

I didn't find addons to circumvent this, either.

that little "&" sends the conky process to the background freeing up the current process (your autostart.sh script) to finish doing what it's doing so you can move on to running openbox itself. with this in mind, it should be obvious why keeping conky in the foreground would cause problems.
also, replacing it with (sleep 1 && conky) & means... wait a second, when that's done successfully (&&) run conky, and put all of that () to the background. that way openbox comes up immediatly and only a second later you've got your panel and monitor.
all this after .xinitrc and before openbox

We do not have a phone # for technical support unfortunately. There are issues with Norton Toolbar causing Firefox to crash; This has been fixed in the 2013 version of Norton but not in 2012 yet. If you have 2013, it would be easier to contact Norton as they have a better understanding of how to guide you.

I downloaded a game recommended by Game Centre but it doesn't show in the list of games in Game Center.
I have restarted both the game and Game Center many times to no avail. The game is called Amazing Mahjong.
It doesn't seem sensible to recommend games on Game Center that can't integrate with Game Center perhaps? Or is this a bug?

That is what I have done. I have tried to search for 'okular'. What is the name of the .exe file for okular? There isn't a file "okular.exe". I tried searching just for .exe, using the search in the "brouse" window. I am assuming that this search searches the whole file system (from / root?). The search found five .exe files, none okular. Can it also find "hidden" files?
The main question is why doesn't Thunderbird recognise Okular as a valid file to be chosen. It knew about OpenOffice immediately I loaded it.
Do you know the directory (ies) when the Programs are loaded; such as FireFox, Thunderbird, Okular, etc?
