Downloaded ios 8 on iphone 4s and wifi is not working, any ideas on how to rectify the situation?
Please help. Downloaded ios 8 on the iphone 4s and the wifi button is GREYED. Tried to resetting the Phone without losing data and losing data but wiyhout success. Does anybody know how get the wifi working again, please as I have a very disgruntled daughter. I believe it could be down to a battery issue, over heating? Is there a solution?

What was the full wording of the error message? Usually there is also a number or additional information.
Try placing the iPod in Recovery Mode and then restore
Next try DFU mode and restore.

I'm getting kernel panics each day as I shut down, the message of restarting by holding down the power button appears on the screen - it began about a month ago and. Do you have any ideas of how to solve the problem? I've copied the logs that I found for each kernel panic that still have the message logged. Please help if you can, I have read some of the other comments and perhaps it has something to do with my anti-virus software being on at start up. I have copied the log here. Two experiments you can try.
1. Boot in safe mode and see if you can shut down normally. All thise additions won't be running in safe mode so this test would indicate it is one of them causing the problem.
2. Uninstall all the intego VirusBarrier stuff. That's my first guess and the troublemaker. -
I just downloaded and updated to the new iOS 7 software today for it's release. But when I plug my phone into my usb and then into my macbook, it won't work on iTunes. It says it's not compatible and I need to update to the latest iTunes which they say is 11.0.5. When I go online and download the iTunes installer and download the new update, it works out fine and I don't seem to have any trouble with it but as soon as it opens iTunes when the installer finishs, the mesage about compatibility comes up again even though I just updated to 11.0.5. If anyone has any idea, let me know! I'm hoping that maybe it's just a glitch with the new iTunes that needs to be fixed up?

Thank you for your question. iOS 7 requires iTunes 11.1. First, I recommend trying to obtain the update by going to the iTunes menu and selecting Check for Updates.

I downloaded firefox 4.0.1 and it does not work with Norton. How do I load 4.0 back on?
With firefox 4.0.1 none of my passwords or log in names are entered from my norton program. I would like to go back to 4.0 which was working fine with all my systems. Any way this can be done? Pending this update, you can go back to Firefox 4.0, their add-ons work in that version. You can get Firefox 4.0 from http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/4.0/win32/ - you need to select the folder for your language, you can then download and run the Firefox 4 setup file to install it.
If you do install Firefox 4.0 temporarily turn off automatic updates until Symantec update their add-ons. To do that in the Firefox options window, go to the Advanced panel, and then the Update tab and de-select the option to automatically check for updates to Firefox. -

Hae you tried to do a hard reset of your phone? This will not lose any data. Hold the sleep/wake button and the home button until the phone turns off ignoring any slide to power off messages. Then power the phone back on.

Restore the phone as a new device. If that doesn't solve your problem, you'll have to bring your phone to Apple for replacement. If you are not within the warranty period, expect to pay $199 for out of warranty replacement. -
My 3gs wont restore after ios 5 update. I have tried firmware restore and restore from backup, neither works. All I get is "iphone restore failed because backup session failed" Any ideas on how to make a successful restore with this ios 5 update?
I was having the same problem, I backed up my phone and then updated to iOS 5 and then it kept telling me it could not restore from my backup as it had failed. After reading a bunch of forums and posts and trying everything, I did manage to get it to work. I had tried the Time zone, creating a new computer user account, disabling anti-virus, etc.
It took a combination of things, one of which was disabling the anti-virus completely and copying the contents of the backup folder to my desktop and then deleting everything in the backup folder. Then I rebooted the PC, entirely disabled the anti-virus, copied the one backup I wanted to restore from the desktop to the backup folder and then trying to restore. Low and behold the phone said restoring from backup and I am back in business, so when in doubt, trying combining some of the fixes together. -

Connect the iPod to your PC. If iTunes starts syncing (ie erasing) your music automatically, hit the X in the upper right hand corner of iTunes display, to the left of the search box, to stop it.
In Control Panel, Portable Media Devices, double-click your iPod.
In the Tools menu -> Options, in the View Tab, check "Show hidden files and folders."
Navigate to the Music folder. On my 'pod, the full path is
Portable Media Devices\NAME of IPOD (F:)\iPod_Control\Music
Select all the music folders, and drag and drop them into a folder on your hard drive, or directly into iTunes.
And you're done! The iPod music folder structure is strange and inexplicable, but once you move your files into iTunes you can set it to automatically organize your folder by artist and album to clean that up. (To do this, in iTunes Edit menu, choose Preferences and in the Advanced tab, check "Keep iTunes Music Folder organized."

you should be eligible for out of warranty replacemement for $149 US.
Apple maintains sufficient stock for replacements even for iPhones that
are no longer available for purchase. You may be better off upgrading to
a newer version than paying $149 to stay with the iPhone 4.
