  • I can't pair my iPad 2 with my 2006 Apple wireless keyboard with keypad

The iPad can see the keyboard, but when I try to pair them I get a message that the keyboard is not supported. Is there any way to get the two to pair up?
The keyboard is Bluetooth 2.0 it seems like it should work. The iPad is Bluetooth 2.1 but it should be backward compatible.

Is your Bluetooth Keyboards firmware up to date?
Check by pairing the keyboard to your Mac, then clicking on the top left Apple>Software Update and if there is a keyboard firmware update, download/install it.
I haven't used my Bluetooth Keyboard with my Macbook Pro in FOREVER, So I DID have to update my Firmware today.

  • Have iPad Air and Apple Wireless Keyboard.  Can I access emoji from the wireless keyboard?

RE: iPad Air and Apple Wireless Keyboard
HI,  I have an iPad Air paired with an Apple Wireless Keyboard.  Can I access emoji from the wireless keyboard?
Thanks for any help on this subject!

Eureka!   I kept searching and found the solution.   So, if anyone wants to know here is the solution:  press fn and the up arrow on F Keys (top) row (it's the one all way to the right.  The iPad keyboard will then pop up on the iPad and from there you can access the emoji keyboard.

  • IPad 3rd generation not working with wireless keyboard.

    Hi,
I have recently bought the 3rd generation iPad. I have an apple wireless keyboard as well, but for some reason I can't get the keyboard to pair with the ipad. I have disconnected the keyboard from previous devices so they have now all 'forgotten' the keyboard. And I have read numerous 'discussions', but none of which are relevant to me.
At first, when I was trying to connect them, the keyboard was flashing green twice really fast but was not discoverable. I then turned my MacBook Air on and the keyboard became discoverable on both the ipad and the air. But when I tried to connect the keyboard to the ipad it would do nothing. I then tried to connect it to the air and I got further, but everytime I'd type in the passcode ontot the wireless keyboard, it said there was an error. I then clicked on 'passcode options' or on the macbook air and selected the default password to '0000' instead of randomly generating one. This fixed the problem connecting the keyboard to the air. However, it wasn't fixed with the ipad. The iPad now shows the keyboard as discoverable, even when the mac is off, but when you select the keyboard from the list of bluetooth connections it prompts you to input a random password on the wireless keyboard, however, when you enter the (correct) password it immediately says 'Pairing Unsuccessful - make sure keyboard is turned on, in range and is ready to pair'. No matter what I try I can't seem to get the iPad to accept the password and there is no option on the iPad to use a default password like on the mac.
Is there anyone that knows how to solve this issue.
    Thanks

what kind of keyboard, Apple brand or some other?
also what are "ten keys" - function keys, number keys?
usually no configuration should be required once the keyboard is recognized,
keyboard is not supposed to cause your system to freeze.

  • Where does a developer download iOS5 beta for iPad?

I'm a developer, but where exactly do I download iOS5 beta for iPad? In the Dev Center I only see the SDK for 4.3. Thanks.

Thanks, I wanted to make sure. Many people mistakenly think that the iOS betas are available to the public or non-paid developers. If you can't find the beta, I'd suggest you ask for pointers in the developer forums:
    http://developer.apple.com/devforums/
and if you can't get help there contact Apple Developer Support. We're really not allowed to discuss any specifics about unreleased Apple software in these public forums.
    Regards.

  • Downloaded ios5 to my iPad, had trouble with all my apps but that got fixed.  now the whole thing is so slow it is almost useless.  have rebooted, didn't help

i downloaded ios5 to my ipad.  Initially had problem with apps which was fixed by downloading an upgrade and they all staarted working.  But everything is so slow it is almost useless. i have tried rebooting, it didn't help.

Other users have reported this very same issue after updating their iPads. You are using the original iPad according to your profile and those devices seem to be the more adversely affected devices. You can try the basic things and see if any of this helps.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If none of those things help, you can always try restoring your iPad. I have restored mine with some success, but I still have issues that I hope will be resolved soon.
An update to the iOS has been announced and it is in Beta now. Hopefully it will be released to all users soon.

  • New apple wireless keyboard & iPad 3 pairing question

Bought a new Apple wireless keyboard this week. Had some trouble pairing with iPad 3. Took me 4-5 attempts but it finally paired successfully after 10-15 minutes. Question for all you gurus...  When the wireless keyboard arrived on Friday, I first paired it with my MacBook Pro. Could that have caused issues when I re-paired the wireless keyboard (today) with my iPad 3. And further, this will sound like a silly question, can the wireless keyboard be paired with two devices? I don't mean simultaneously. Does it screw up any settings to use the key board with separate devices/computers? Wondering -- if I keep my wireless keyboard at my office -- can I go to work with either my MBP or my iPad and simply use this one wireless keyboard? Or should each device have its own dedicated wireless keyboard? That seems redundant but I kind of love this keyboard already and would be willing to buy a second, if need be. Obviously, I don't want to spend extra money if it isn't necessary. Am I going to have to re-pair the keyboard and device each time I switch between the iPad and the MBP? Thanks all. You are always helpful and I appreciate it.

Thanks for the quick reply Skydiver! So...I really should buy a second wireless keyboard so that I don't have to go through the hassle of re-pairing the keyboard when i switch devices, yes? Yes, I believe I've answered my own question as I now sit here with my MBP attempting to pair it to the keyboard. Oy. Taking forever. I don't mind buying a second -- for $69, it seems to be the most efficient thing to do. Now I just need to figure out a way to designate which wireless keyboard goes with which device. Time to buy a little sticker! Thanks again.

As long as the apps and ibooks are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

  • Unable to pair ipad 3 and apple wireless keyboard

I own an Ipad 3 but am unable to pair it with my apple wireless keyboard. I bought it in Sept 2012 same day with keyboard. Both paired without issues daily. Once I downloaded the recent ios 6 update i've been unable to connect my keyboard with my ipad. The apple keyboard still pairs with my macbook pro and my iphone 4.

    Lrlandés-
I never tried my function keys before, but most are working under iOS 4.3.5.  I get no response for F3, F4, F5 or F6.  I suspect those may be App-specific.
What model keyboard is yours?  Mine is MC184LL/A, according to the box it came in.
