Then the next step would be to restore your phone. My advice is that prior to restoring you import your photos and videos to your computer and back up your contacts (by syncing them with iCloud or to a supported program on your computer using iTunes) as a number of users report losing these when restoring their device.

You're welcome.
But, no, don't look to Epson for fixes to their driver in newer versions, and Adobe has deprecated the TWAIN plug-in. Hoping for a solution there is futile. That has not happened and it's never going to happen. The consensus is that it's pretty foolish to tie up Photoshop to scan. Honestly.
Any improvement in the behavior of newer versions of the Epson drivers in that regard would be pure coincidence.
You need to understand that you never, ever scan "within" Photoshop, as Photoshop has no scanning capabilities whatsoever. When you use the Import > Twain plug-in all you are doing is blocking Photoshop while you call up the stand-alone Epson scanning software. If you think about it, its most inefficient.
VueScan has a pretty powerful scanning plug-in that can be called from the Impost menu—if you insist. VueScan is not free, but it's a pretty good value, IMO.
As for the Epson CD printing software, I have no clue. Sorry.

I downloaded OS X Mavericks and now my MS Word 2011 will not open. My MS Office is not new. The only thing new is Mavericks. If someone can, please help me get Word working again. Excel and Powerpoint are working fine. My previous system was Lion, which worked wonderfully in every way. I did not need a cloud for anything. I feel as though I am now in the fog.

I was able to find some relevant postings after I asked for help and one of them said to restart my mac again. I did so and this allowed my Java to find the path it needed to complete the update required to run Word. Thankfully I do not have to remove MS Office at this time, but I appreciate the advice. If it starts giving me problems again, I will go through the steps you advised. Thanks!

My iphone app for facebook will not open. It has been re-installed and the phone re-set and also synced with itunes but it still won't open. It used to work, but seems after a last update, it will not open. This also is happening on my ipad. Any clues please??

Now it will not open any of these Zip disks. The Zip takes the disk, green light goes on but it never registers on the desktop nor opens up

But what were you running before you upgraded? I'd say your problem is that you don't have any Zip Drivers that are compatible with Mac OS X 10.7. If they even exist, you'd find them on the Iomega site. But the last ones they have are for 10.3 and 10.4, so that doesn't bode well for any support.
If I were you, I'd post a question in the Iomega Support forums about this problem and whether or not (and how) you can get your Zip drive to work on 10.7.

Canon does not have any software updates, and mentioned that the driver should be in my operating system.

You need to download the Yosemite drivers for the scanner or use Apple supplied drivers, if said drivers do not exist, you will have to try a third party alternative such as VueScan or the like. See this website for a list of Canon Scanner models supported with VueScan:

10.4.6 Preview.app, will not open

just installed Tiger, now the preview app will not open. Tried many things, new user, disk utility. I don't have much faith in erase and install, and I don't want to loose all my old app's that I don't have installers for. Anyone resolve this issue?

Open it and then put your 10.4 disc in the drive - select 'Open Mac OS X Install Packages' [wait a bit] - then 'Find' "Preview.app" - select the top one from the list in the panel that pops out and then click 'Install' at the top left and it will hopefully install it in the right place.
You could then re-install the 10.4.6 combo
