Downloaded latest itunes for OS 10.4.11
Hi,
I downloaded the latest Itunes, says it'll run on 10.4.11, but when I tried to install it, a window said I needed the latest version of quicktime to run itunes 7.5.5. I asked my son to download it to put on the old computer and he said the new quicktime that itunes wants won't run on 10.4.11.
The old computer is a g4 running 10.4.11 Is this computer simply too old to run as an entertainment center. Should I simply toss it out? Seems a shame but if its been obsoleted there's no way out of that.

Have you ran Software Update from the Apple menu?
For 10.4.11 you can run the latest -> iTunes 9.1.1 and -> QuickTime 7.6.4 for Tiger
You will also need the latest Security Update and -> Safari 4.1 for Tiger
You should be able to get all this from Software Update.

Am seeing all of the same error messages including MSCVR80.dll is missing from computer. For Windows 7 a "Error 7 (Windows errror 126) appears. How do you get Apples's attention. It is impossible to link up with real support from their website?
Remove old Apple programs, and use Explorer web-browser. (Firefox or Chrome will not do)

How do I get the latest download of itunes for windows 7
So I have windows 7 and I've got the notification for the latest up date for iTunes and I tried to download it several times but always said error. So I decided to uninstall it and install iTunes again but now when I'm trying to reinstall it, my computer says it already exist in my computer when I've uninstalled iTunes and deleted all files linking to it and yet it still says that iTunes exist. What should I do now I cant live with out my iTunes???????

Hi, Need help. I am trying to download the latest iTunes for Windows application but on running the program it says that it can not be completed as it can not find the folder location of the file "iTunes.msi" . Any clues would be appreciated
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

OK. If both of you are Windows 7. Make sure you go to Windows update (START button, type in Windows Update). Check for updates and update whatever that are available. (especially Microsoft .NET Framework 4 )
After that see if you still get this error message.
The last resort would be to unistall and reinstall the whole thing.
Follow the steps below:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch -

Have you figured this out yet? I am having the sane trouble and can't get it to load either. I updated my older MacBookPro yesterday. I downloaded Leopard and then Lion. I currently have iTunes 10. I have a brand new iPhone 4S 16G, and a brand new iPad 2 3g 64g. I went with the 16g phone because I decided to use iCloud and not store all my songs and photos in the phone. However, now I can't seem to get iTunes 10.5 so the iCloud is just an idea at this point.
When I use the upgrade to 10.5 link on Apple's home page, my screen flashes and says "Upload successful." then I go into About iTunes and see that I'm still 10. There is no iCloud in my menu and I'm stuck.
I'm a regular PC user and am trying to convert myself over to Mac once and for all. So I'm early in the learning curve on how this all works. -

Downloaded latest iTunes with iPad hooked up. Using iTunes for windows. After download and install, rebooted when requested but lost monitor when it came back up. Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?

Take the unpacked components of the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file and move them to the root of drive C:. Try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe which drives the original installer, or iCloud.msi unless you have Vista). You may get a more useful error message regarding any problems during the install.

You can triple-click a line to select all of it, then press Ctrl+C to copy, switch to the command box and click the icon at the top left of the window to access the paste menu. Which components you have depends on whether you've unpacked the 32-bit or the 64-bit installer.
The log files might provide further clues as to what is going wrong.

Just upgraded to latest iTunes for Windows. Rebooted the PC as required after the update. When I start iTunes I get a popup message saying "An unknown error occured (-42110)."

there are several other steps to try to solve the issue, but this is typically going to be the best option.
