Downloaded latest version of firefox--must select add-ons to save--don't know if WBE Paste & Workspace Email Zoom are ok to save--please help--I'm a newbie!
HI, I'm really new to this--I downloaded the latest version of Firefox and it asked me to select my add-ons. I have WBE Paste and Workspace Email Zoom added on--don't know if these are important. Please let me know if these should be disabled or are somewhat useful. Thank you!!!

If you did then I would expect you have a problem with your Firewall, and would have had it before, does not affect IE, it does affect Firefox, I don't know about other browsers. See

This doesn't sound like a Firefox problem. You should try to consider, methodically, what you did before the problem occurred so that you can describe to someone exactly what occurred, and in what order.

In any case, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

after downloading the latest version of firefox, when trying to open it I recieved the message, "Firefox is in offline mode. cannot browse web. Uncheck the work offline menu and try again". Have tried several times to open with same results. Have even uninstalled firefox and reinstalled latest version and still get meassage after trying to open.
thank you - that does make sense except i have another computer that connects to the internet in the same way but it doesnt happen on that one. i didnt change anything - it just started a couple of weeks ago after i updated firefox to 11.0. cant find any settings in firefox to alter either - thanks for the help

Downloaded latest version of Firefox and now can't open any Excel files
The problem started right after I downloaded the latest version of Firefox (4?). When I try to open my Excel files I get a Windows error message and then it says that Excel can not find the file.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

I have twice downloaded the latest version in the last month. Each time I encountered the same problems. the Weather Channel add-on I have did NOT appear in the latest version. When I tried to access the Add-Ons page under the Tools header it would not load. When I tried to contact Mozilla from the Help header it would not load
When I open a web page from Bookmarks it is painfully slow to load.
This is NOT an improved version. I have been using Firefox for years without problems; I prefer it to Internet Explorer. However the latest 'improved' version may change my mind.The problem is that the Add-ons Manager tab when opened the first time, is on "Get Add-ons" section and that must be downloaded from the Add-ons server which might be overburdened.

I opened Firefox, and I had a bar along the bottom saying it needed to be optimized, so I could refresh Firefox. I understood that it would take it back to its original state, but I thought that I could add things that I wanted. But when it was "Refreshed", I could not add anything. Themes are "Not compatible with my version of Firefox". Add-ons do download, but I cannot install them. It takes me to a page that is too confusing for a non-tech person like me (a windows page that wants me to find the program that will install it). So I gave up (I also don't have alot of time to fix this). I checked for "updates" hoping that I could update the version and then add a theme, add-ons, extensions, etc. But it is up-to-date. Normally, when you try to install an extension from the Mozilla Add-ons site, you get a progress bar that drops down temporarily from the address bar, and then a pop-up dialog asking you to approve the installation. Do you get either of those or just nothing happens?

Could you test with the avast! extension disabled in case it is blocking these normal actions? You can do that on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then find avast! on the right side and click Disable.
Often a link will appear above a disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

I click on the Firefox icon on the bottom of my toolbar screen. I go to the URL dropdown menu for my usual sites; I select one but the page will not load and the URL field is blank. It is a hassle to press the up and down arrows to select the site. Please help!

I wen tot go into safe mode and disable add-ons, and instead of when the dialog box came I pressed save and continue after selecting disable add-ons button. I believe that's permanent, but can I undo this? Because now I have no Adobe Flash Player. Please help!

Firefox does not seem to recognize the graphic asset (the Save As File Type) pull-down bar stays blank. When I select the "All Files" type in the pull-down bar but that doesn't help. I've tried adding the .jpeg to the file name as suggested by another user, but this doesn't help.
No problems like this when I switch to Explorer.
