downloaded Mountain Lion OS X ...but is not installing . gets stuck at last 9 mins and shows error. Asking to contact software provider. how to complete installation ?

P.S. The order status in the app shop says - complete - but no download option anywhere.
And when my computer wants to reinstall mountain lion  - it says, that this ID did not purchse Lion
What is this supposed to mean? I have to purchase Lion OS as well? or it means mountain lion by this message, but just doesnt see, that my account bought it?

again i never had a problem with this computer and still dont have a problem with downloading anything except for this moutain lion..
also im on the latest osx 10.7.4

You should always be doing regular backups.  Disks can fail at any time; so can other components; directories can get corrupted beyond repair, users can make mistakes, etc.
You might want to review the Time Machine Tutorial, and perhaps browse Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.
If you don't like Time Machine, see Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #27 for some alternatives.
Did you purchase AppleCare with your Mac?  If so, the drive will be replaced at no charge.

  • I paid for mountain lion $19.9 but do not have it downloaded on my mac yet

i paid for mountain lion $19.9 but do not have it downloaded on my mac yet

In what way is it terrible? Mountain Lion is pretty stable. If you are having problems, most likely they are unique to your particular system and can be fixed. If you don't like some of the new features, that does not constitute reason for a refund.
If that does not suit you, you will have to discuss a refund with Apple, as they are the only ones who can say. Note that the App Store terms do say that all sales are final, so you are not guaranteed a refund, especially since whatever problems you had are not due to defective software.

  • HT1338 My new iMac would not download Mountain Lion because "your computer is not compatible" WHAT?! Why is that? Please help

Why do I keep getting a message that my new iMac is not compatible to download Mountain Lion OS? How do I fix that?

Is it brand new with ML preinstalled?
If so, your only way to download is to use the recovery method (hit keys Command + R while restarting). Can't use the app store.
Why are you trying to download?

  • Downloading mountain lion 4 hours, 1 more to install

I understand the incredibly slow download is related to my Internet speed; I was glad to read that it took others a long time, too, but, once it was on my machine, it took another hour to install! I did search for reviews and customer tips before I bought the upgrade, but I wish I had known in advance that I would be unable to do anything else all afternoon on my computer.
So, if you haven't downloaded it, yet, maybe you should set it to begin at bedtime!

I think that since Apple just released the Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Update and iOS 6, their download servers are being somewhat overloaded.  It may pay to try again in a day or two after things calm down a little.  It also depends on where you live and how fast your ISP download speeds are.
    Hope this helps

  • I just downloaded Mountain Lion.  Notes opens & closes.

Recently downloaded Mountain Lion.  When i open Notes it closes and i receive an error message.  I re-downloaded the program again and Notes still doesnt open for me.  Has anyone else experienced this problem.  I use a MacBook.

Hmmm.  I've heard of a couple other reports here, but I don't know whether a solution was found.  Are you signed into iCloud?  Which accounts in System Preferences->Accounts have Notes enabled?  Try unchecking Notes for all your accounts except for iCloud and seeing whether that helps.
Do you have a Notes.crash.log in Console?  Maybe you could post it here if so?

If you don't wish to download Mountain Lion twice, then do this:
    Make Your Own Mountain/Lion Installer
    1. After downloading Mountain/Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Mountain/Lion application. After Mountain/Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Mountain/Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
    3. Locate the saved Mountain/Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
    4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the content of the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:

You can download Mountain Lion from your App store account for any machine that you own and which is compatible with it, without having to pay again.
Just log into the App store from the iMac, go to your 'Purchases' tab and hit 'Install'.
