Downloaded Music as ring tones

I have downloaded music from the store straight to my mobile but cant seem to use it as a ringtone or alarm any ideas why or how i can use it?

The answer is simple - when you buy downloadable music, there are strict regulations (usually determined by the copyright holder rather than the retailer), it is commong that there are limited transfers between devices, limited CD burns and very often play is limited to music players and not other functions such as tones and alerts.
There is no fault with the phone in this case, it is simply obeying copyright restrictions on the file.

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.

  • Music as ring tone

I just bought the Nokia 6500 slide phone and wish to know how I can select music stored in the phone music library as my ring tone.Kindly advise.
    Many Thanks !

Use the phone browser to look for any music you like as a ringtone, in the option select make as ringtone. But you have to bear in mine that only the first 30 seconds more or less portion of the music will be played.

-to set a ring for a contact: select contact of choice>open:so you can view contact's info>options>ringing tone.
-stored music is in the list of ringtones. if you select profiles>personalize>ringing tone. all songs are available to choose from.

  • Nokia N73 (not music edition) Ring tone mute mode

    Hi,
I am having the Nokia N73 (not music edition) phone. If I receive any call when the music player is in the pause mode then I can see the vibrating alert only and not the ring tone. At that time my ring tone is going on mute mode. Is it a build-in functionality? Or it is a problem?
    Thanks,
    Parker.

Try switching profiles. If you see it's set to Silent, turn it to General instead.

Music, Apps, text message, Photos,  Contact List, Notes Pad information. How do I get these Items back or can I?

If you backed up the device, you should be able to recover it from the backup unless you somehow deleted the backup.  See if it isn't recognized by iTunes, then restore it from backup.

  • HT201272 Is there a way to download previously purchased ring tones?

I there a way to download previously purchased ringtones? Purchased a new computer, and when sync'ing my iphone to the new computer I lost my previously purchased ringtones. They do not see to appear in the "purchased" listing which is songs, shows and movies???

Not sure why I received a message telling me that the ringtone I was about to purchase had already been purchased if you can't obtain from purchase history, but OK. That being the case, can ringtones be purchased on the computer rather than the phone so that the file is saved on my PC?
    Thanks for your help.

  • My music as ring tones

i have loaded  many songs on my  I5  but canot use them as a ringtone  is this not possible     anyone know what i;m doing rong

You have to create a ringtone from the song in iTunes first, then sync it to your phone.  See Create free ringtones with iTunes 10.

  • HT3204 how do i get a song as a ring tone

I want to use a song i have downloaded as my ring tone how do i get it to my default ringtone

when I first synced my iphone with my itunes I was prompted by itunes asking if I wanted to check my purchased music to see if any songs could be used as ringtones. I imagine certain copyrights of songs allow this and other do not. I heard if you are a mac user that you can use garage band to create ringtones from any songs in your library but I am not a mac user and not familiar with how to use that program.

  • HT1491 I have downloaded a ring tone to my Itunes account on my laptop and it under "My Music" on my Itunes account...how can I get it onto my ohone as a ring tone?  I have an IPhone 4S?

I have an IPhone 4S and I downloaded a ring tone for it onto my lap top through ITunes.  When I "Sync" ITunes to my IPhone 4 S...the ring tone is transferred as music and I can't get it to be recognized as a ring tone.
How can I make this a ring tone for my phone?
    Ed Szygenda

You would have to create the ringtone.  Google will find several ways to do this.
You can only buy ready made ringtones from the ringtones asections of the itunes store on your iphone.

  • When I down loaded some ring tones they show up in my Music folder but not in my ringtones?

When I down load some ring tones I purchased they show up under my Music Icon but not in my ringtones

Where did you download them from? Did you drag them from the Music folder to the Ringtones folder?
iOS devices use MPEG4 audio (AAC) for ringtones. Often these files end with .m4a, but the .m4r suffixe is generally used to denote a ringtone. iOS expects a ringtone to be less than 30 seconds in length and otherwise the only other restriction is that it's an AAC audio file.
You can make your own ringtones simply enough with any audio editing application on the Mac. Just create an MPEG4 audio stream, give it the suffice .m4r, and drag it into iTunes.
