Downloaded Music Missing

I had to reinstall my hard-drive because it fried. When i re-installed iTues and synched up my iPod it eraed all of my previously downloaded music.
How do I reacquire these tunes -- I had copied about 700 of my own songs from my CD's but also had about 200 songs downloaded from iTunes
Doesn't Apple have a history of my downloads and can't it just resend to my iPod music library if I request it?

Hi there,
You can always redownload media directly from the iTunes Store. Take a look at the article below form more information.

  • Itunes has deleted my downloaded music. I still have my purchased songs in my library and I still have my downloaded music on my computer but the downloaded songs don't show up in my library. How do I fix this?

itunes has removed my downloaded music from my library. I still have all of my purchased songs and videos but the downloaded songs are missing. I still have the downloaded songs on my cpu just not in my itunes library anymore. How do I get these songs back in my itunes library?

Copy them from the other user account you were logged in with to your own account.  Or if you are using iTunes 10.3 or later and live in the use, redownload them via iCloud beta.  See this article for more information.

  • When I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, my previously downloaded music in iTunes library disappeared on my computer?  There was no warning of this happening.  What do I do?

Ok, so I downloaded the newest version of iTunes on my home PC, and the previously downloaded music in my iTunes library disappeared on my computer.  What happened?  I can sync my iPod but I am not sure how long ago I synced it so I may be missing some music downloads.  Why did this happen, and more importantly, why didn't iTunes warn me it could happen and advise me to sync with another device before the download?  I am not very happy about this and it's a huge issue for iTunes if this is happening.  It makes me very wary of iTunes.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps then you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • Error code -50 when downloading music

I keep getting an error code -50 when I download music..it happens sporatically, about every third song I attempt to download. I have sent endless emails to suport..and no one has an answer--i've done the diagnostics and sent them to support--disabled my antivirus before downloading..Ive tried the check for purchases..nothing! the songs download to the point of "processing" then the error code pops up--I close iTunes and they just dissapear.the only thing on the hard drive I have ever found is files that will say "download" the do nothing if I import them to iTunes.Frankly, Im tired of losing music I wanted and can't re-download (as you can only download a song once-and even though its missing,it still shows in the purchase history)-I never have this problem if I get music from amazon.com. any ideas as to what causes this or how to fix it?

  • Purchased Music Missing?

An album I bought on itunes has the exclaimation symbol on it. I've seen this question asked a few times, and I've tried to delete the songs and then re-download them from my account. This seemed to make the problem worse, now the songs are greyed out, and won't let me click on them to recive an error message. How do I get my songs back, and why did this happen?

Nevermind, I sycned my ipod to my iTunes and it found the album through my ipod. It's never done that before when I had other music missing, but it's back now so try this if you have a similar problem

  • Downloaded Content missing

I downloaded music from iTunes and have used it well in the past to play my purchased music.
Tonight however, I went to burn the music to CD and all my music is gone - vanished. The "purchased" folder is missing from my iTunes installation. I used the iTunes online support page and I can only call it terrible; not only can I not find an answer to the issue, but I can't even find a way to email, call or discuss the issue with Apple even though the online support pages tell me I can.
As such, I need help in either finding the downloads or approaching Apple to re-download the same music files again.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? Can anyone help me get the music back keeping in mind I have used the online support pages already and do not want to go in circles again.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I've got a similar problem.....
I downloaded iTunes 9.1.1.11 yesterday morning. I then noticed that some of my purchases had gone missing but not all of them. The missing purchases are still in my Library but the files won't play correctly - they start to play but the sound is distorted.
I contacted iTunes UK support by email and they put all of my purchases back up for download. I tried to download some of the missing files but it makes no difference they still don't play properly.
I then noticed that all of the missing files are protected and there is a little padlock item on the icon for the files. All of the purchases that are still showing are unprotected and they play fine. The ones that I tried to download again are still protected so that seems to explain the problem but not why it's happening.
I've emailed iTunes back about this discovery but I've yet to get a response.

  • How to reset Gracenote 'Download Music Info' after it messed up

Hi, I recently started using the Walkman on my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and used the 'Download Music Info' provided by Gracenote. I ticked the 'Replace Existing Information' box and after it downloaded all the album arts, it has also messed up the artist tags - for albums with more than one featuring artist, it has generated a separate entry in the Artists section for each one, so, for example, the artist previously listed as Clean Bandit, now has about 10 entries with Clean Bandit ft. Stylo G, Clean Bandit ft. Elisabeth Troy, etc. etc.
With a collection of several thousand songs by hundreds of artists it has made using the Walkman app impossible!
Is there any way to reset the mess Gracenote has caused? I've looked and the ID3 tags are intact, and I have also followed instructions from several other forums, suggesting deleting folders in Android/data/com.sonyericsson.music and other similar folders, and have literally wiped out every file and folder relating to music that was modified in the last 24 hours, from both internal storage and my microSD card. I've cleared data on Walkman and the Download Music Info app, disabled them and reenabled them and restarted countless times, all to no avail.
Surely there must be something that can be done to fix this other than hard resetting the phone?
I'm guessing there are residual files on the /system/ or /data/ partition that, if deleted, would fix this, but I don't want to root my phone to get access to them.
Is it worth trying to get Sony to release a patch or fix, or am I missing something that could fix it?
    Thanks in anticipation

  • Computer stolen and all downloaded music lost

Hi, I am trying to find a way to regrant a download of music I have purchased through itunes over the last three or four years. We had our computer stolen and all the downloads. While we have the music on our ipod and old iphone (bought a new one this week) I cannot download music from them to our new computer or new phone. I would really like to have the music I purchased back in our itunes. I have called apple and they said to go to the chat support. So here I am....I think I am in the right place.
    thanks so much

  • I need to download music in 320kbps, how can I do it with iTunes?

I need to download music in 320kbps in high quality for play a dj-set in clubs. I saw that iTunes gives max 256kbps....how can I see what's the kpbs for every song before download? And it's possible download at 320kbps in iTunes???Please help!

You are going to get all sorts of responses (as you have seen)..here's my two cents -
When possible, best to have "master" copies that are the highest bitrate possible. Lossless is ideal and given a choice between AAC 256 and mp3 320, I'd take AAC 256 as I can tell on some files a difference. Some files you wont hear much difference do to their range or the quality of the original.
All my CDs are converted to Lossless. They play of course great. If I want, I can make AAC 256 from them with just the direct compression "loss."
My downloads from iTunes remain at AAC 256 and I have from days gone by some MP3's that are ranging from 128 up to 320 bitrate. I hope to replace those later.
The only advantage of Mp3 is if you have multiple "players" that don't play AAC files. Again, having a Lossless copy you can then make mp3 version for those players.
I'll be short on the iTunes store - I have downloaded very good copies of songs at 256 and then all the older material (stuff from decades ago) sound horrible. However, LP version of the same album and some CDs were evidently cut from different "masters" than what iTunes got. I often think the problem remains with the high speed method of conversion. No one checks the quality and not all "masters" (I should say original source) are the same when it comes to transfers. So if you prefer more modern stuff, iTunes is pretty darn good. If you like say some Glen Miller or Ethel Waters or...its hit and miss.
Bottom line - mp3=good, AAC 256 Superior and Lossless =can't be better

  • Download music info is inaccurate

    Hi everyone,
So I used the "download music info" function to add up missing info for my songs. The function did well for about 90% of the song, but the 10% left, well, the name is completely changed into somthing else. For example: Call me maybe ~~> This kiss
I wonder if anyone has encountered this problem? Is there anyway to undo the process ?

The best way to do this is to re-transfer all your music through media go, also the way I do it:
on the PC > open WMP > look for the album > right click the album > find album info > once it has the correct info copy/paste/drag the album/folder to your internal storage or SD card

  • ITunes 8.2.1 - Music missing when syncing to iPod Touch

Using a PowerMac G5 Tower with 10.5.7 and iPod Touch 2nd Gen with latest software. I upgraded to 8.2 awhile back and it worked fine. After upgrading to iTunes 8.2.1 my iPod will sync audiobooks, podcasts, etc. but not my music. iTunes will start the sync, but after a few seconds it stops and says the sync is completed. On the iPod Touch, I see everything (audiobooks, etc) but the music files are missing. Most of the music is ripped from CDs but a few songs are also from the iTunes store. Apple's zeal to prevent the Pre from downloading music from ITunes may have resulted in them stopping other music too.
I plan to try these fixes in this order:
    1. replace my iTunes Library file with a backup file from before I did the update.
    2. roll back to 8.2
Has anyone else rolled back to 8.2? What's the procedure? I don't want to re-import thousands of music files if I don't have to. Do I simply replace the app and the prefs files or do I need to delete other files?

Neither method worked. Replacing the music library and rolling back to 8.2 (after deleting four iTunes-related plist files) resulted in the same problem - everything syncs but my Music. I also reset the iPod Touch but that didn't make a difference.
The interim solution I found is to add Music to my iPod manually. I set my iTunes iPod Preferences to manually update the iPod and drag and drop away. A pain, but at least I can use the iPod until I figure out how to get Music to automatically sync again.

  • Can the volume for downloaded music tracks be synced and how

can the volume for downloaded music tracks from itunes be synced and how if so

Hard to know what the cause is  because it's like this
I know what I did to cause this. I upgraded my one of my hard drives, renamed the drive and moved the folder. The missing pictures it can't find were added with the option in the advance menu "copy photo to library" turned off.
    and this
What I did is added a small SSD as my primary drive. Put the OS and all the apps on it.  Moved my iPhoto and iTunes libraries to an large external.  Most of the picture it is not having a problem wth.  Only certain ones.  Don't actually think I unchecked tha prefeence, but it's acting like i have.

  • Downloaded album missing tracks

I recently downloaded the album "Thunder, Lightning, Strike (Bonus Tracks)" by The Go! Team. It contains the correct number of tracks, with the correct titles, but two of them are in fact duplicates. Can anyone tell me how to remedy this? The vanilla version of the album doesn't seem to have the same issue, but it would cost me extra to download the missing tracks from there.

You could try deleting the tracks that are wrong, then using iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not in My Library to redownload them.
If the problem persists use the report a problem links in your account history to contact iTunes Store support. Be clear exactly which tracks by number and title you are missing and that redownloading them yourself from your purchase history hasn't fixed things. Check the previews of those tracks in the store in case they are in error too.
