iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1408
Are the files really gone from the computer or is it just iTunes has lost track of them?  A more detailed description of the problem would help.
Generally if things go missing you either re-download them from the iTunes sore where possible, or recover them from the backup you make of your computer because you are so glad you have one when this happens.

I have been a customer of ITunes and Apple since 2007. Movies, Apps, Music and books  Itunes has been my only source for my media needs. 397 Apps 759 Songs over 100 Videos 13 books 3 IPhones 2 IPods So here is my problem with ITunes I purchased an App and it is identical to one I have already brought. The App description did not say anything that it would not do what I was trying to do. I wrote sup[port and asked if they could issue a credit. Mari at support wrote back and said he checked with his supervisor and they could not issue a credit.  I told them what a good loyal customer I have been to Itunes and Apple and they still refused.  Granted the App did not cost a lot of money (3.99) but it’s the principle. With customers having options to shop anywhere I would think a business would do whatever it takes to retain the loyal customers they do have Occasionally I rush to buy an App without fully understanding if it meets my needs. According to ITunes support that has occurred nine times. Here is the last reply that I received Roger, I know how frustrating it can be when things don't work the way they should be  and I do apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused you. I am sorry but we could not be able to grant your request as we have made 9 exceptions on you. For more information on Apple's requirements for using the iTunes Store, please refer to the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions:http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html Again, I am hoping for your kind understanding regarding this matter. Sincerely Mari iTunes Store/Mac App Store Advisor

"The App description did not say anything that it would not do what I was trying to do."
You've already had 9 refunds? You understand that apps are sold on a non-return policy, presumably. You bought an app that didn't claim to do something that you wanted from it, and now that you've found that it doesn't, you want your money back.
Perhaps you've failed to explain your point properly but I can't see why you expect any sympathy from users here, not that it would make any difference. Only the store staff can issue refunds if they think appropriate. Chalk it up to experience. You could even contact the developer in advance of a purchase if you want to be certain an app does what you want. Then if it really fails to live up to the promise you would at least have a better argument for a refund.

  • Somehow my itunes has been deleted how can i undo it an get my phone back in order

my account w/itunes has been deleted an i was wondering how to get it back cause i really need all my apps an ifo that was on my phone? thx Cory

As Ocean20 say, your only shot at recovering the photos and data is to restore from a backup (with iTunes if you took the backup with iTunes, through iCloud if you took the backup through iCloud).
The erasure is to prevent your data from falling into the hands of somebody who takes your phone and eventually guesses your password. If you feel that the inconvenience caused by this feature and your friend outweighs the trouble that somebody could cause if they got possession of your contacts and other data, you can change this behaviour.

  • ITunes has been deleted

My iTunes library has been deleted and seems to have been restored to its default settings (the last time I used it it was working fine). All my music is still on my iPod, so I was wondering if there is any way I can transfer the music back to my library, or if it only works the other way?

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
The transfer of content sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
However before you try that, if your songs still in the usual folder(s) on your computer try this. Hold down the Shift key in Windows when launching iTunes. In the resulting dialogue you will get the option to create a new library or navigate to an existing one. The default location for your iTunes library is in \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\. Look in there and see if you have more than one library file (they have the extension .itl) If you have more than one try opening them in turn, you may find your original library is still intact: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file

  • Somehow iTunes has been deleted from my IPad. How do I get it back? A

iTunes has disappeared from my iPad, and Farmville is taking money I haven't authorized. I don't have Facebook authorised to take payments which presumably means the money can only be going through iTunes, so I really need to get the app back to cancel all payments. (Unless some kind person out there knows some other way.)
I'd be so grateful for any help at all in re-installng iTunes  - the Apple site just sends me in circles and won't offer any way to re-install. To make matters worse, the appstore icon has also disappeared from my iPad too so I can't get at it that way.
And if anyone also knows how to stop Farmville (whose contact link conveniently - for them - doesn't work) taking my money that wouod be brilliant.
    To sum up:
    iPad 2
    No iTunes link or icon
    Need to re-install?
    Apple site no help
No money authorised in Facebook, but money taken by Farmville
    Money going via iTunes?
No way into iTunes to stop it
No appstore link or icon, so no way in through that
    Aaaaaaargh!
    Help. Please.

I tried turning those off but they only seem to function to allow/ prevent auto download to the iPad from other linked computers, e.g. When i download a book to my Kindle I can allow/prevent it also loading in the
    Kindle app on the iPad.
I've changed my Apple identity and password, and removed my bank card info which I hope will stop any further financial  shenanigans, and Farmville seems to have registered it. Did all this deep inside thebsettings app.
But still can't work out how to get the iTunes store or the apps store back.
Really appreciate you tryimg to help, and so speedily. I was beginning to think I'd have to cancel my bank card, *not* something I want to do a week before Xmas!
If this were a pc I'd know what to do; 25 years and counting experience delving into their virtual innards, resetting registry, etc., but this Apple game has whole new rules I haven't hada chance to learn yet, and it doesn't seem as amenable to amatuer tinkering.
But i do love my new toy, so am very sad that it's broken. Amy further help very greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for suggestions so far.

  • All of my uploaded music within iTunes has been deleted, it is still on my C drive (I think) the music I had downloaded from the itunes store had also been removed but was available to download via the icloud system. HELP.

My iTunes 11.1.5.5 was running fine on my Windows 7 machine untill  I opened iTunes to find all my uploaded CD albums missing with only my purchased iTunes store dowloads avalible, these had also been deleated but appeared within iTunes both to play and re dowload via icloud.
Over 170gb of music was deleated from iTunes. I checked my C drive and it appears that the music is still on the P.C hard drive.
Is there an easy simplistic way to repopulate my iTunes from my C drive.
    Simple instructions would help.
    Thank you very much.

  • My itunes has been deleted from my computer by a technician. how can i tranfer the music back from my ipod onto the new itunes ive installed?

i have a PC and i had itunes on it with lots of songs. A technician fixed my computer and deleted my itunes on the way. Iv'e reinstalled an itunes programm, how can i transfer the songs from my ipod touch onto the itunes? I'm afraid that if i'll sync the two, the songs from my ipod touch will be deleted since the itunes on my computer is empty

    Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer othre music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - Retain app data and other information, connect the iPod to yur computer and make a backup by right clciking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the Backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.

  • Upgrading Safari and now iTunes has been deleted.

So I updated my Safari yesterday and when I rebooted the MaBook my iTunes was gone. Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it and get it back? I haven't plugged my ipod back in.

If it is just missing from the dock, open your Applications folder and drag it to the dock. If it is not in your Applications folder, you can install it again from: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Your music and other files should still be in your ~/Music folder and won't be affected.

  • My iTunes has been deleted

My son deleted iTunes and I restored with my pc but still no iTunes?   It won't let me download as it states it is on my iPad.  He also put a restriction on with a pass code that I have no idea what it is.  I am not sure if Hesse are related
    Tom

" I restored from the backup but the restriction is still there. "
    Correct.
As I said in the first response:
"If you do not know the restriction code, then you will have to restore as new."
"From what you are saying is I will have to restore as new versus the backup?"
    Correct
    Hope all goes smoothly

I have a music album on my ipad that i cannot delege   i have connected the ipad to my laptop where the album has been deleted from the music library but when i sync the ipad to the music i want the unwanted album still appears on the ipad    any advice welcome   thanks

    Hi rosehooker,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Make sure you are following these steps to delete the music from both your iPad and computer:
    On the iPad:
Before you delete, find out if you'll be able to download the song you deleted again (it depends on where you live). To delete a song:
    Tap the Music app.
    Tap the Songs category.
Swipe left to right over the song you want to delete.
    Tap Delete.
    On your computer:
Before you delete, find out if you'll be able to download the song you deleted again (it depends on where you live). To delete a song:
    Launch iTunes.
From the Library pop-up menu, choose Music.
Click Songs in the navigation bar.
Click the song you want to delete.
Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
In iTunes 11, the album cover art will remain visible, but a cloud icon will appear on it to allow you to download the item again (in countries that support this).
Note: If you didn't purchase a song from the iTunes Store, you won't be able to download it again for free from iTunes in the Cloud. You might want to back it up somewhere on your computer.
You can find the steps above in this article:

    Hello gogreenj14,
If you had iTunes Match updated with all of your non iTunes purchased content already, then yes, when you enable iTunes Match with the following article it will have all the content that has been uploaded to iTunes Match will be available for download.
iTunes: How to add a computer or iOS device to iTunes Match
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4913
Open the latest version of iTunes on the computer you intend to add. You can download the latest version of iTunes here.
Sign in with the Apple ID you use with iTunes Match.
Choose Store > Turn On iTunes Match.
Click the Add This Computer button.
When prompted, enter your Apple ID password.
iTunes will automatically begin scanning your computer's library for matches.
A status indicator will allow you to track progress. You may also manually pause and resume the process at any time by clicking the Stop or Start button.
Once iTunes has completed matching and uploading your iTunes library, your music in iCloud will be integrated into your local music library. A download button will appear to the right of any content that you have in iCloud that doesn't already exist on your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling
