Downloaded new update to 3 G phone lost my photos how do I retrieve them from my computer on xp pro
I just downloaded the latest 5 operating system to my 3 g phone and the photos did not sync from my computer on xp pro. What should I do
The lastest operating system is iOS 5 which cannot be run on an iPhone 3G

If you have problems with your iPhone you may need to restore.
Tap Settings / General / Reset / Erase All Content and Settings.
Do not try restoring from a backup, restore as a new device.
To see exactly which operating system is on the iPhone now connect it to your computer.
Launch iTunes.
Select the iPhone under Devices then select the Summary tab from the iTunes menu.
The version number is noted there.
4.2.1 is the latest and AFAIK, that last update for an iPhone 3G.

I need to restore my contacts on my wife's iPhone. They mysteriously disappeared and I want to restore from her computer iTunes /backup - but when I plug the iPhone in - it begins to "backup". I'm afraid if I allow the "backup" to proceed it will wipe out the computer back-up and replace with her "empty" iPhone contacts.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have. -

The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer or cloud service regularly. Your contacts will be in whatever program/cloud service that you have been syncing.
If you have failed to sync you contacts then they are likely gone. -

Your back up via iCloud is only for use for restoring your phone after wiping it. You can't inspect or utilise specific parts of the back up. -

I have never taken photos off of my iPhone and now have too many. I would like to download them to my home computer. Into my documents/photos section if possible. I suggest you download a program called "Media Widget" from bootstrapdevelopment.com, it's free but you can only do 5 songs at a time unless you want to pay for it. I've used it plenty of times, best of luck!
