Downloaded office 365 and associated apps onto ipad mini. How come some excel spreadsheets will not open?
Some excel spreadsheets attached to my emails will not open on ipad. I have the excel app with 365 subscription.
Can you open them in the mail app itself? If you can't open them in the mail app, my assumption would be that they were not properly saved, named or they are just corrupt file. Files with the .xls or .xlsx extension that are properly formatted Excel files, should open in the mail app without the need for any other app. If you want to save and edit the files, then you need a compatible app in which to save them.

Start by closing all apps and resetting your iPad and see if that helps with any of your issues.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it. Close all of the apps on the iPad this way.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
My IPad mini hangs on the Internet. Will not start. Have rebooted the home and on / off. There is internet in the house (using it now). Getting the message: Safari can not open the page ...... What do I do?
Try this:
1. Close all inactive apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo. -

The app is crashing for some reason. Even though it is only flashing and will not open, it may still show up in the task bar. So try quitting Pages and then restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps.
Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
we have a mac laptop and dont have any problems with pdf files but our imac will not open them. any suggestions?
Back up all data.
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -

I have used the resume tablet and put my resume into format but when emailing it, it will not open on windows. How can I change the format to where they will be able to open and view it?
I guess you mean one of the resume templates.
What "format" have you saved your finished resume in?
The only formats a Windows user will be able to open are .doc (Word), .pdf and rtf. The 1st 2 are usually the best.
There is no Windows version of Pages.

Outlook 2013 with Office 365 and Google Apps Sync.
This is the scenario, hopefully somebody can give me some insight on how to resolve this.
Outlook 2013 with gapps. Both updated.
Outlook profile with an office 365 email account (which is as an exchange account) and google apps with our main account.
We installed an office 365 account since its the only way that several users can share and edit the same contacts on Outlook. They use almost all contact fields.
Gapps its the main email address and calendar. Shared calendars are deeply used too.
The problem is that when I edit a contact (the exchange account) I get an error -when- I edit the email field.
"The operation failed. The messaging interfaces returned an unknown error."
If I make a new Outlook profile with the exchange account and the gapps account via imap setup I get not errors BUT I loose calendars sync.
So I went back to the main profile and thought. <maybe both contacts engines are screwing Outlook.> So, since I don't care about gapps contacts anymore I disabled via:
Disable sync for individual products

And also disabled the dynamic Global Address (just in case).
But the same happens.
I tried with another box, with office 2010, updated it and made a new profile with the office 365 and gapps and the same history.
Finally I though about setting the office 365 account as imap but contacts are not downloaded.
So I'm between a rock and a hard place here.

After updating my iPad 2 to ios7, my kindle cloud reader will not open. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app but it still won't open.
I am experiencing the same thing. My Kindle cloud reader (icon/shortcut placed on my iPad screen) was working fine before I updated to ios7. I can go to Amazon's website and directly log into the cloud reader and it works fine, but when I make a copy/shortcut onto my iPad's screen (from Safari), and try to login, the login screen just sits there doing nothing. I can even put in a false username and password, hit enter, and the login screen just sits there. Knowing that Apple has made life as difficult as it can for Amazon/Kindle ( demanding outrageous fees for user to purchase books directly through the Kindle app), I wonder if the ios7 was designed to give kindle cloud readers trouble. Note, you could always login to the cloud reader directly from the amazon site, purchase the books, then use the actual kindle reader ( where thanks to Apple you can't purchase books) to read the books.

I have the latest version of iPhoto installed, but it will not open now. An earlier error message prompted me to update to the latest version, which I have. How cna I uninstall and reinstall this APP that I aleady own?

What exactly happens? What version of iPhoto do you have installed (in teh finder select it in the Applications folder and get info)?
If it iPhoto '11 version 9.5.1 then Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database

ater upgrading to firefox 7 from version 5 i cant open this web browser it worked b4 but after upgrade it will not open. i did system restore to go back to a time when it did work and i still have this problem.the message says website is too busy or proxy settings r wrong but i changed them every way possible.i uninstalled the program and reinstalled it with no success. even google chrome will give me same message is my pc infected? or is there a way to get firefox to be my primary web browser?my operating system is win7 vista i am currently backing up my files to a portable drive and my intension is to save files and reboot entire system and then d-load firefox again will this solve this issue?

thanks for your reply couldnt figure out how to reply my ipad is brand new for school straight out of the box otherr classmates downloaded the free facebook youtube google gmail the popular free apps and i cant im sighned into my apple act i havent put in credit card info cuz i dont have one or have plans to use or download amd apps that arent free when i try download it askes for my password i type it in and it accepts it then after a few mins it will say this app can not b downloaded at ths time try again or be done if i try again same responce over amd over the icon from that app will appear on my home page and will either say working or it just is there and says nothing until i open it then does same thing all over again im either using my schools wifi to run it or my wifi at home either place its the same thing over and over. and none of other students have had this issue at all there is an app im supposed to dwonload and use for school it willnot allow me to do so i have to search it each time in class in the safari when other students download and have an icon to open the app for them ive been told this ipadmini is supposed to be really easy quick and poweful and so far i disagree been nothing but trouble cant watch youtube videos skips so bad or just wnt ever load

when i connect my ipod to itunes it starts a sync and then a backup. then at step 5 of 5 of the backup itunes starts to download all of my old apps to my ipod and then i have to cancel the sync and then on my ipod all of my old apps are grayed out and i cant even delete them. this happens every time i plug my ipod in. how do i turn this automatic download setting off?
Was any error message given? They usually are.
Try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. -
I downloaded Firefox 4 and installed it. When I tried to launch it, a message came up saying that Firefox will not work with this version of Mac OSX. Now I have no Firefox. How can I get Firefox 3.6 back on my Mac? How can I make Firefox 4.0 work? Please advise.
Thanks for the reply so quickly! Is the tenfourfox going to be be just as safe and as high of quality as the Firefox 4? Also since Mozilla's website says, "Firefox 3.6.x will be maintained with security and stability updates for a short amount of time. All users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Firefox 4" does that mean if I go back to 3.6 there will be security and stability issues after a "short amount of time"?
