Downloaded photos from Canon 20D to iPod

I was not able to get my 20D to downloard to my new iPod. It says unrecognized device. The iPod specs state that Apples Photo Reader Adapter ($35) works with the 20D but I couldn't get it to work. I tried another adapter at the store and got the same result on my iPod and another one at the store. I don't see any settings to change on my 20D so not sure what's wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I have th canon 20d and ipod 60G video. Make sure your camera is set to PTP you'll find it in the settings menu on your camera then Soft reset your iPod(hold down menu and the center button till it resets), then plug everything back in and it should work. . Make sure you also have the upgraded firm ware for the 20d. it should be 2.0.3 and you could get it from the canon website.

  • Problems downloading photos from the camera to iPod

Last week I tried to download photos from the camera to my 60 GB iPod.
I had almost near 150 pictures (jpg) but something happened. The iPod (or the iPod Camera Connector) isn't able to transfer more than 60 photos (aprox.).
For bigger amounts, the tranfer speeds up and after finishing, I can't find the photos and I can't transfer photos anymore or listen to music o play videos.
Is there any restriction concerning photo transfer? What could be the problem?
    Thanks.

As a matter of fact. After giving my camera a complete charge, I have had
    no more problems
That is why a card reader is so useful. You do not have to wait for the camera to charge and avoid the kind of errors above.

  • Downloading photos from Canon camera to computer

I'll try to be brief. I was using iPhoto 1 or 2 and downloading photos without problems from an older Canon SD 400. Unfortunately I can't remember doing anything special but one day, the computer, or rather, iPhoto, did not see the camera. I could see the camera in the System Profiler. OK, so I wanted a new camera. I bought a new Canon SD1100 IS. It would not transfer photos. BTW, I was able to transfer photos from everyone else's non-Canon cameras. OK, I decided to bite the bullet and bought and installed iLife '08. Besides, I needed a newer version of iPhoto to transfer photos to my iTouch. Still no go. After much ado, I even got a new camera from Canon. Now I had also installed at some point, software for my HP camera (don't get one)but before trying the new camera, I uninstalled that software. Several restarts later and I finally had to get a little multi-card reader which shows up in iPhoto as MY CANON CAMERA! Any ideas? Thanks.

Make sure that the camera is set to the correct USB protocol. There are two: Mass Storage and PTP. I’m not sure which is the correct one, but whatever yours is set to, try the other one Consult the manual on your camera for details.
But you are better using your Card Reader for importing. There is no risk of an incomplete import(due to the camera shutting down, for example) and it also saves wear and tear on the Camera ports.

  • Recently unable to download photos from Canon G6 - was fine 4 weeks ago

I used to be able to plug my camera into the USB port and iPhoto would automatically start and begin previewing my photos. Now nothing happens and no matter what I do I can't get my photos to show up at all. It's simply not finding the camera.
    I have tried the following:
All manner of plugging, unplugging, restarting, etc.
Tried using a card reader, that's not recognized either
Tried powering down completely and removing battery for several minutes
Updated all software from both Apple and Canon
Wrote to Canon and they have not yet been able to resolve
Since everything was working fine until recently, it must have something to do with a software update? The USB ports are working as a power source.
I am going nuts. I HAVE to be able to download photos for my business! HELP!

Having the same problem, but on my Canon XTi. The computer will only let me DL about 13 out of 100 photos. If I delete some off the camera, then it lets me DL some more. Unlike in your situation the computer does recognize the camera (some times).
I've tried different cables, different cards, and two different macbooks with the same results. Same thing when using Aperture and Image Capture. I was thinking there must be something wrong with the camera body, but I'm starting to wonder if it's an update problem as well. Thing is, my macbook was updated with new updates 2 days ago, and the other macbook has yet to be updated with the same results.

  • Can't download photos from canon camera

Since I downloaded Yosemite, I can't get my Mac desktop to recognize my Canon PowerShot SD1100IS Digital ELPH camera.  I've gone into Preview, Finder and Image Capture and it's not there.  How do I get my photos onto my computer from the camera?

Same here... I have a Powershot Elph340HS and a SD960IS, I've updated Canon ImageBrowser and CamaraWindow and it just says "no camera detected"... so I used a different usb to make sure it wasn't that, I've tried everything, Preview, iPhoto, even iMovie... all of which worked before for importing from my cameras...

  • HT1678 How do I synch/download photos from my iPod classic to my computer, which has a Windows operating system?  Thanks.

I am trying to download photos from my iPod to either an external hard drive or my computer, which has a Windows operating system. The iPod should function like an external hard drive, right?  My photo files/computer/hard drive were damaged. Can I put my photos on the iCloud, and then save on external drive?  Not sure how to o this either.  I lost a few years of baby photos. Thanks for any help!

iTunes syncing to iPods (that are not iPod touch) mostly goes one way, from computer to iPod.  For photos, at the time you synced the photos to the iPod, there is a setting that you needed to have enabled in iTunes if you later want to recover them from the iPod.  This setting is on the iPod's Photos tab in iTunes (where you set up photo syncing).  There is a checkbox for Include full-resolution photos.
IF that checkbox was checked, you can Enable disk use on the iPod's Summary tab, and find the full-res photo files in the Photos folder on the iPod.  Otherwise (if setting not checked), when iTunes syncs the photos to the iPod, iTunes converts the images to a very low-resolution version that is optimized to fit the small iPod screen and stores the image data in a single database file (to save storage space).  There may be third-party software that can extract separate photos from that database file, but the resulting photos will look bad blown up to computer screen size.

  • Downloading digital photos from Nikon D80 to iPod

I've been having trouble downloading photos from my new Nikon D80 into my iPod. Although Apple's list of supported cameras does not include the D80 a number of forums I have used report successful downloads from this camera. When I press the Import option after connecting the camera to the iPod via the Apple Camera Connector I receive the message "Import Done" however the iPod screen still says that no photos have been imported and Size 0kb.
Can anyone help? Any advice would be most appreciated.

    so it's not realy useable
it worth a thousand memory card for travellers; too much usefull!
i will be travelling. i can easily carry on an iPod and my D80. Bringing a laptop on hard outside trekking is obviously out of question. so I bought 2X1Go SD card and the iPod photo connector. at the end of the day, I only need to plug the iPod and the Nikon togheter and go making lunch. I don't care to wait several minutes; the next morning, I will have my photo on the iPod and my SD card ready for the next day shooting.
    but it takes forever
it's the smallest 20Go or 60Go harddisk you can handle while travelling. at this point, I will not expect this technology to be faster than what it is. but if you want the transfert to go faster, it will only depends of the size of the pictures you are taking. RAW photo will be way too long for this kind of connection but Fine-JPG is quite acceptable.
if your need is a fast transfert, used a more compressed jpg format. there is a tradeoff that should suit your needs.
besides, is there any other solution than buying several SD cards if you cannot aford to bring a laptop on your trekking?

  • TS1315 when trying to download photos  from my digital cameras I keep getting the message that pics can't be downloaded because of an unrecognizable format. It shows that they are all jpeg files. One camera is a Canon, the other a Panasonic.

when trying to download photos  from my digital cameras I keep getting the message that pics can't be downloaded because of an "unrecognizable format". It shows that they are all jpeg files. One camera is a Canon, the other a Panasonic. I have had these cameras for a few years and have never had a problem downloading.

I am having the same problem which has happened very infrequently before. Generally it's one photo and happened when my battery died.
However today I tried to download six photos.
None would download including several others for a total of 21 that would not download.
Since I had just installed a new powered hub and added three new external 4T hard drives, I got concerned that it was the hub. Then got really worried that I'd have problems with the data I have been backing up.
However following this sequence of events, I've determined it's not the hub, but still don't know what is causing the problem.
    (1) Put a fresh battery in the camera - same results
(1.5) Used a different port in the new hub - same results
    (2) Put the card in the card slot in the back of my iMac - no problems except that one image I knew about last week. The six new images imported.
    (3) Tried again using the cable - still same error
    (4) Changed cables - my husband has the same camera - still same error
    (4) Put the card in his camera with his cable - still same error
    (5) Put the card in a card reader and used the same slot in the new hub - no problems - same one wouldn't import but message that there are no new photos to import.
    (6) Moved the offending one image to the Trash while the card was in the card reader
    (7) Put the card back into my camera and used my cable. iPhoto had no error and displayed the message there are no new photos.
    Conclusion:
    Not the camera
    Not the cable
    Not the hub
Must remove bad photo from the card
However, I have not had to do that before. I went through several imports on vacation when there was one bad image and just ignored it each time.
Any idea why this is happening now?
    Thank you

  • Can I download photos from my macbook to a Canon Selphy CP760 printer

I have a Canon Selphy CP760 - a nice compact printer.  All of my photos are on my MacBook - none on a card from a camera.  Can I download photos from my Mac to the little printer?  I have tried using a thumb drive/flash drive, but the printer says it is an unsupported USB devise.  P.S.  I am technically challenged!

    That makes more sense...
You can print photos directly from iPhoto to your computer.

  • I no longer can download photos from my Canon SX50 HS to i-photo

I had been downloading photos from my new Canon SX50 HS routinely for several weeks and then they no longer downloaded.  I-photo would not even connect to the camera.  I have spent considerable time removing various files and downloads but still the camera does not connect.  Any ideas?

Does Image Capture (in your appications folder) see the camera
If it does then use it to get the photos off the card - it not then you need a card reader - once you get the cards off the memory card then use the camera's format command to reformat and erase the card
once this is resolved a best practice to is to never have any computer program (including iPhoto) delete the photos from the card but to import the photos and keep them and then after at least one successful backup cycle has completed and then reformat the card --  I use three very large (32 GB) cards in rotation so I do not reformat for typically a year or more giving me one more long term backup of my photos

    doesn't download videos
I seen so many of these post for windows users.
Try my little "trick" (must be running iOS 4.3 or better)
Download the app "Download Manager Lite" (FREE) or "Download Manager" Full ($ 1.99 USD)
After downloading, transfer it to iTunes
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
After transferring, Go to your iDevice (on itunes), to the apps page, scroll down, you can add/save videos and/or files.
Click on "Add", find the folder of which your movies are being downloaded. Its much faster than syncing from itunes.
You can do the wi-fi transfer, the best part is that you don't have to be connected to the same wi-fi.
You will get 2 different URLs you need to type on your computer. Type the Web URL not the ftp URL. After that, you should have access to the app, without the need of itunes.
Click on Add, find the folder of where your movies are stored, faster than syncing with iTunes.
    HOPE THIS HELPS.
